Couldn't have said it better myself...that was awesome. Dueling Banjos requires a great deal of skill to play at all, but that guy, being able to play it at that speed AND play both parts...wow.
Hi tradstallion, I only use a flatpick, no fingers since the notes would not be loud enough or clear enough. By the way, I use a "Jim Dunlop" .73 gauge nylon pick. Tim Allan
Hi giggleblaggle, The tenor banjo is tuned in "fifths" like the mandolin, but the mandolin is tuned higher(like the violin) to G,D,A,E, where E is the highest note. The tenor banjo tuning is C, G, D, A, with A being the highest note.

You know that's the second time I've done that. I did that once with Steve Martin. There's a Steve Martin that did stand-up comedy and movies like Father of the Bride and Three Amigos, but there's also a Steve Martin that plays banjo and has played with Earl Scruggs. I keep getting those two mixed up as well.

@tombokickass Almost, it's tuned GDAE, but that's mostly for irish music. They use a different tuning for jazz tenor banjo's.
