In Tamilnadu, we say this as KALAKI... there are varieties of kalaki. Onion kalaki, masala kalaki in that we add spices, kolambu kalaki.. kolambu means curry.. we mix curry with eggs
you can tell the people complaining about butter are not actual chefs, when you go out to eat at fancy places they slather that shit in butter and seasoning/salt for max flavor, if youre worried about your health then you have this as a treat for one day and then go back to eating oatmeal for breakfast the rest of the week : )

I prefer mine seasoned with a little bit of butter topped with a butter cream 2 parts butter 1 part butter, but a plain omelet works too.
