Tips: 1. Kobo doesn't have a way to view annotations online, but you can enable a feature to export them to your PC as a txt file (recommend finding a video to explain how to do this) 2. You can enable developer options by typing devmodeon in the search bar - after doing so go to More > Settings > Device Information > Developer options. A few niche settings to play with. There are also more things available in Beta Features when you do this. 3. Disabling the footer and header in reading settings increases the number of lines on each page ( I keep header w/ pages left in chapter count on, and utilize progress bar for indication of how far in the book I am). Also, adjust your line spacing and margin! The default isn't that great. I have mine set to 0 line spacing and 1 margin, though it's ultimately personal preference
Hi Dylan, Could you please do a video on all the steps to add the clock to the Kobo? It seems very complicated. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank You! 🙏🏻
I really want to know how to take my annotations and notes to an outside notes app on my computer. I especially want to be able to do this with non-fiction.
3:12 kindle also does this, if you’re inside the collection top right there is a button that looks like +/- and it brings up your library as a list with check boxes!
Also, it'd probably be easier to use Amazon Household for sharing books with your spouse rather than having one account. Not sure if Kobo had something similar.
I just bought a Kobo Clara BW today and I am so glad for the clock and battery ''plugin'' for while I read a book!! It was very easy to install and pick the position of both (changing a few words in a text code. Thank you so much for this!! Took me 5 minutes and definitely worth it! ^^
Since you mentioned Calibre: you can create collections automatically on Kobo based on Calibre column(s). And this works also for books you have downloaded on the device. As long as you have an entry on Calibre matched to that book (with or without a file attached to it), you can update all metadata, series and collections on Kobo from Calibre :)
Can you make a video how to insert the clock. I found the software... Is there a chance to get the functionality of the libra colour on the libra h2o, at least for the notebook functions?
There's another stylus that I found out works really well with the kobo libra color that is basically identical to the kobo stylus, just the color is grey and the eraser and button function are switched. It's the Metapen Stylus Pen M2 !
are you sure ? Wow that would be mega cool, thanx so much 4 sharing !!! but Is it this one: Metapen Stylus Pen M2 for Surface, 4096 Pressure Sensitivity & Tail Eraser & Palm Rejection & Tilt & Quick Charge - Microsoft Surface Pen for Surface Pro 8/7/Go 3/Studio 2/Duo 2, ASUS VivoBook Flip It would make my mom so happy if this one worked as it is half as cheap, but I just need to be sure it is 4 the KoboLibra colour
Finally the first video which shows typing on the Clara. Thank you! I'm coming from an older e-reader and was hoping the typing speed has improved with the newer 1300 screens, and the brief snippet at 3:05 quelled my doubts.
Dylan, Love your videos, they are quite useful. Also, BIG FYI!! At the moment if you have a 2024 Kindle Paper White Signature You cannot use the Download and Transfer via USB option. The Paper White does not show up when you try to use the option.
@@John_Ridley I tried to follow the directions but, for me at least, they're just too complicated. I have not been able to get the clock on the pages of the book I'm reading and, from what I've seen, I don't seem to be the only one. Admittedly, I am not technologically savvy so there is that.🙄 I hope Dylan will do a step by step video tutorial soon.
I use the brightness shortcut (sliding up down on the side of the screen) quite often. Thanks for the tip on the Collection and swiping down to quickly change recently read books, learnt something new. As for stylus alternative, I’ve read pp saying the stylus using MPP 2.0 (Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0) works well on the libra colour. Just need to find those using this protocol
I love your wife’s stuff, if she does any Harry Potter type quotes or charms; then I’d love to get it!! Also it’s been a while, I generally lurk in your videos; and used to comment on a different account. I am still considering between the ereaders, and this is definitely my choice; then just get the cheapest kindle for whatever I already had in the ecosystem already or if I can’t find it on kobo… or if friends give me a amazon gift card that I decide to get books for my kindle. Great video!!
Hey, question. I’m a new Kobo user, after a decade with Kindle. Do you know if there is a way to quickly toggle Dark Mode? Clicking settings and scrolling down to the checkbox is a bit inconvenient.
Thx so much for all your cool videos, i so appreciate it. But was searching for that Clock you could add to the Kobo Colour... are you going to make a short for that ??? That would be sooooo great ;-) thx in advance !
I've used Calibre and LOVED it then suddenly, even with updating, nothing is working anymore. I've followed your channel and used your insights since I got my Kobo. I've emailed a couple of times and desperately need help figuring out what's happened! I have 1500 books in my Kindle that I want to move over.
hi I'm thinking of getting an ebook reader, and I'm having trouble deciding. I do want a smaller sized ebook reader, like a kindle paperwhite. I was thinking about the Kobo Clara, but it doesn't have google drive or overdrive, so I was debating whether it'd be possible to import ebooks from my computer to my Kobo. I don't really understand the whole thing. The kobo library feature is also pretty nice, but idk if the Kobo Clara (which is the one I want from Kobo) can do that. I would want something less than $300, so if there are any other ebook reader brands, please let me know. Here are my preferred features: 1. Can have comfort light/ light that doesn't give me migraines at night. 2. Google Drive/Overdrive/ability to read imported ebooks 3. small 4. preferably no complicated stylus/page turner things (im okay with buttons) I'd appreciate all the help, and thank ya'll
Hi! I read on my cell phone where I have the Kobo app. If I bought a book, so it's downloaded, how come I have to have internet to access the book? I hope you have an answer. Thanks
Thanks for video. Can you please clarify re sharing a kobo account. Is it by A) using the collection method on a shared device, or B) will it also work by having two kobo devices connected to same account, and then also using collections? Thanks for any advice.
When I turn my book off, there is a label that says sleeping and gives me the stats of the battery life can I remove that label from the front screen so that I can see the full book cover in the resting mode.????
I just received my kobo libra color and my power button doesn't Wana work properly for sleep mode and awake from sleep mode. Apparently it's a thing that happens to some of them? Should be getting a replacement but have you heard of this?
Thanks for all your videos. They are very helpful. On the stylus you suggested, do you know if the erase function work like in the OEM stylus? I have a Metapen M2 and in it the back highlights and the side button erases, so it is reversed.
I'm going to have to try Calibre and move my Nook books to my Kindle. I have the first generation color Nook and I think the battery expanded inside of it because the screen has popped up on one side. 😢
I just uploaded about 400 epubs to my kobo - super quick and easy using calibre. I think you might also be able to drag and drop them from your computer?
Nah mate in Europe Kobo routinely charges 2-4x what kindle does for specials. Oh yes, you can get the same price... Buy the kindle, convert in Calibre, etc. Tedious.

I'm holding onto everyone's cons about the kobo so I don't buy it hahaha. I hope kindle makes something comparative soon because I love the kindle ecosystem.
the con i find so far is getting books not bought in kobo to sync across all kobo apps on different devices and kobo ereader itself. i love my reading to be syncronized at all devices so send to kindle is super helpful. i’m praying the same as u here..
this channel stole my heart the moment he promoted his wife's Kindle charms.
Same 😊
How hat do they charms do? Are you they like a dust protection for the port?
I use Household library with Kindle so we share books and hubbie moves them to his own collections.
Kobo also offers price matching for any books that are not marked down on all platforms.
How ??
Well I went to look for it and apparently it isn't available in the US anymore.😔

Agree with the clock thing I love that kindle has it - come on Kobo just give us a clock option!
I want that clock tutorial video 👌🏼

Is it worth the switch from kindle? I love that kobo has color but a lot of my books were from kindle store 😢
This is what I want to know
Thanks for all your videos. They are very helpful. On the stylus you suggested, do you know if the erase function work like in the OEM stylus? I have a Metapen M2 and in it the back highlights and the side button erases, so it is reversed.

My question is if u have kindle AUDIO BOOKS will the kobo play them after the transfer?
Can i export colored highlight? and is there a limit for the number of highlight as the kindle?
Thank you for this video, much needed. I will also be ordering some charms from your wife.
Please show me how to transfer a hoopla comic to my kobo Clara please

I can't find serial number on amazon, did they remove it? Also, can't find plugin I need for download😢

Kobo for sure. You can on kindle but first you have to convert them to Mobi. It's tedious but can be done.
@@Ekinnajay Kindle doesn't support mobi files anymore. Now you could upload epub files to kindle.
Kindle, Kobo, and Boox support epub files.
