  • The world loves dinosaurs - the very word conjures up fascination and intrigue among millions. Yet few people realise that over 100 different dinosaur species once roamed Britain, which boasts one of the best fossil records anywhere in the world. From giant Sauropods the length of two double decker busses, to Raptors made famous in the Jurassic Park franchise, to the world's favourite the Tyrannosaurus Rex, all manner of dinosaurs called Britain home.

@@extraordinarytv5451 - Walking With Dinosaurs, IMO, was one of the worst dino doc series ever. In fact, of the 300+ dino docs I have in my collection, not a single one is from the WWD series. WWD is like an animated Disney film, in that they make up dopey little stories about an individual dinosaur or a family of dinosaurs, giving them names and personalities. It's dumb. Juvenile.

    FINALLY!! YES!! Amazing.
Someone has finally portrayed a predatory theropod (baryonyx) with a tongue more in keeping with modern day raptors i.e. hawks, eagles and owls. Will wonders never cease?
These animals were not in need of a fleshy articulate tongue needed for chewing. Simply to help retain (reverse barbs on the upper surface like those of cats and predatory birds) the food item and assist it on its' way down to the animals crop.
And yes, like any bird, they had 'crops' as evidenced by the presence of gastroliths found in their gullets to assist in the breaking up of their food. Thank you.

I would like to point out that dinosaurs (that we found so far) never evolved the vocal cords necessary to make sharp screech or roar sounds. They could probably hiss like an angry ostrich or goose. Some may have had a balloon like organ, in their nose or chest, to make low frequency whoop noises with, that could carry long distances. And some may have been able to make cooing noises, similar to a pigeon.

Sorry but tyrannosaurus lived in North America, other sub species of tyrannosaurus are found in Asia like china, for example the yutyrannus

I think they spoke about the Tyrannosauroidea in general, not Tyrannosaurus in particular (also, Asian Tyrannosaurids these are not subspecies of Tyrannosaurus, they are actual genera), but yeah, it was very poorly worded.
