I mean, some of the bankai here can defeat Aizen, some kidoh technics too. TK himself said later Ichigo is the main hero, that's why some can't shine brighter than him. Gin's monologue is literally why Aizen should be feared. The most canon explanation that we have for his power is simply that some souls are naturally born with higher spiritual pressure, like Starrk for instance. And even Yamamoto who's been incredibly powerful for thousands of years. Obviously that level of power also comes with a lot of training, and moreso Aizen constantly tests the boundaries of his powers to transcend his limits.
Na yamma has multiple of thousands of years to train to get that strong.Aizen isnt even shunsuis age yet he is that powerful.The fact he could counter the kido commander as a lieutenant without incantation is just ridiculous.Kenpachi(manga) and Aizen were made too strong without any reason for that type of power

There was this man who lived during the time of Einstein named John von Neumann. There were insanely smart people all around him, but they all had to admit that nobody compared to Von Neumann when it came to understanding. Apparently he was on such a different level Einstein and others never disputed it or said anything against it. You can probably find some articles about him. These kind of people exist. They just are naturally smart. They can do what you can do, but literally 10.000x faster. What might take smart people a year to figure out might have taken him no more than one read through. We will never understand how they could do those things, but they can. It's the same with people who just have a natural insane memory (photographic). My dad has it and he always said that he literally never had to study. He just read a book once and he understood it completely plus he remembered it (He is also quite smart). My granddad apparently was also a genius out of this world (not biological). Musically so incredibally talented that he could play insanely difficult pieces when he was just 4 years old. They lurk everywhere and you will never meet most of them.

The manga/anime drops hints, bits and pieces for each explanation of all of Aizen's power level, it's up to everyone whose under the effects of Kyokasuigetsu to claw through the veil and find them! xD xP That or he just explicably tells you how to combat or why it doesn't work, like how Aizen told Soi Fon why her two shot won't work against Aizen.
Yup. That's why Barragan wasn't able to desintegrate Aizen even if he wanted to. Any power derivative from spiritual power can only affect someone with lower spiritual power, that's why you can't even cut someone with higher Reiatsu.

There is a theory that Aizen is from one of the 5 noble families, members of the 5 noble families have higher spiritual power then the others. But there are also cases about characters that aren't part of the noble families and still have higher spiritual power then the rest like: Yamamoto, Kenpachi, Jushiro, Shunsui, Unohana etc.
The thing about Aizen is, he was born strong. When he was born he had an immense amount of Spiritual Pressure. He then proceeded to master each and every aspect of the fighting style of the Shinigami. It's not that he's strong for no reason, it's more that he's just a "gifted kid" that actually kept up with his shit xD
Interesting thing that I noticed when I was younger and I had finished watching Bleach, notice that Aizen's two second-in-command personnel have a similarity where one is blind and the other never opens his eyes. This is kinda symbolic I think, as Aizen's ability works on those who sees his Zanpakto.
And here is why...Aizen Sosuke is the most OP main vilain in all of Shonen anime...The man with a plan, the Palpatine of Bleach. The thing is, it's not just that he beat all of those powerful opponent without breaking a sweat, it's how he did it and using Hinamori as a meat shield for Toshiro's is just extra ....extra cruelty....

As a huge shock in the bleach series, aizens zanpakuto( Kyokasuigetsu) has a few weaknesses based on the soul society arc when he used his power to create illusions and the fake karakura town arc when he used his abilities to manipulate everyone
There was a filler with Captain Susuke Amagai before this part. He used a weapon called Bakkoto, which had the power to neutralize the Shinigami powers of those around him. If he could've focused that power on just Aizen, that would've removed his Zanpakuto from the fight.
15:53 in toshiros defense....this dude has manipulated his childhood friend and played her like a fiddle..and to top it all off, tricked toshiro and all the other captains into basically killing her....using her yet again, and throwing her away... Emotional AND psychological damage... Aizen isnt just powerful, hes smart.... he fights ppl physically AND gets in their head(as seen with ichigo)... and the moment he can get in your head, thats when hes REALLY winning
Speaking of Aizen's age we know for a fact he's not older then Shunsui and Ukitake since Yamamoto stated they were the first to become captains from the academy he created (Aizen could of just been accepted without going through the Academy, but since he's wasn't trying to be noticed that wouldn't be likely). Age doesn't always mean power since Shunsui stated he thinks Toshiro will surpass his strength in about 100 years. Aizen likely was a prodigy that was very more gifted then Toshiro & has had the time to develop his power to its full potential (hence why he's looking to break his limits & gain greater power since he's hit his ceiling as a Soul Reaper). Honestly Aizen does look insanely strong, but it makes you think how much of that is an illusion & how much is it his "basic" strength? Since we only see things from the victims POV how much of what we see is real with Aizen & how much is he just playing with them.
As Aizen says "a battle between soul reapers is a battle between spiritual power" Aizen has the strongest spiritual power amongst the soul society so he is able to overpower and nullify the powers and strength of the other captains, and that is before we start talking about his zanpaktou
I especially like the argument "everyone hasn't heard Ichigo". Yeah, and Ichigo himself was standing in the same place, and watched as Hinamori was pierced. Then where are the wounds from Soi-Fon and Kioraku on Hinamori? When did Aizen carry out the substitution? And if he did it a long time ago, then where did his thoughts about the cunning of shikai Hirako come from? In general, this is one of the strangest moments of Bleach.
One of my favorite episodes in bleach. Just in relation to your comment about the age, you should also take the fact that some of these guys are just built different. For example, Ichigo has gone from no power to stronger than a Captain in a bit over a year. So imagine Aizen being a prodigy to the extent Ichigo is, but way older than Ichigo and way smarter. I know we kinda filling in the gaps, but that's kinda how I made sense of it all. Once you see the next 5 episodes, you'll understand that he does have limits.
Aizen is definitely older than people think. We don't know exactly how much but he was already a grown man when Gin was just a lil kid and Tosen was a teenager.
So I'm sure you've figured out by now that nobody really knows why Aizen is so goddamn strong. Kubo has yet to give an answer for that one. But what's really scary about this scene isn't that he cut down 10 Captain level Shinigami, it's that he's not even trying. His killing spree here is done with the most minimal effort.
Steph, Aizen can just be a prodigy like some other soul reapers. And he is a natural genius on top of his natural skills. Let's just say he hit the power and smarts Soul reaper lottery when he reached there after death. And you still might find out why he is so strong later in the series. Hell, we are only about 2/8 in on the BLEACH series too. Long way to go , especially with the new episodes coming!

And with the new series, they just might squeeze in an explanation for his powers being so strong in something New in the new series. You never know. As far as we know he could be a child or a decedent of the Soul King that nobody knew about. Like Yuhwch and the sickly white hair Captain( Ukitake) that has special abilities because of their connections(relationships) to the Soul King. Amongst all good anime adds a few out-liners info in the animation series. So call it filler-or non-canon. But some series acknowledges that so new things are now Canon. You know. BLEACH is definitely one that I can see doing that. Just like Naruto, one piece, and bleach has already. And many more other anime series.
I prefer watching these episodes in english dub because Aizen's voice is so condescending and unamused, it matches perfectly with his fight against the captains.
i think ichigo coujldnt say anything because aizen has control of all 5 senses. So maybe he was saying "wtf are you guys doing stop!" the whole time but their sense of hearing wasn't there?
11:40 : I think Ichigo saying “You’re kidding right” as the captains are being cut up, is him not only realizing that they were losing, but I think this is where he realizes they are fighting hinamori. This scene all the way to scene- Minute 16: I think you have to understand that all of this actual is happening instantaneously and at a speed faster than the speed of sound. I think by the time ichigo finishes his sentence of “you’re kidding, right? What the hell are you guys doing!?” Aizen did all that in that short amount of time

aizen has twice the reiatsu and spiritual presure of someone like second form ulquiorra or transformed stark,makes sense why no captain can fight him,its why the espadas followed him in the first place.
People keep saying that Aizen deactivated his ability and ichigos voice didn't reach the captains. First of all, when you c aizen's shi kai, its over. There is no deactivation for it. U r under hypnosis forever. Second, you really should keep in mind that you r watching captains and high ranks shinigami fighting Aizen with their ultimate speed. They all r using flash step and the entire attack on aizen by shunsui, toshiro and soi fon was no more than 1 second or less. The reason the attack feels like 2 minutes is that you r watching it in a realllly slow motion so you can understand what's goin on. They had to give you a chance to comprehend what happened. It was an coordinated attack in which they inverted aizens senses so toshiro can hold him still with ice so soi fon can sting him twice from front, shunsui stabbed him from behind as an extra, all using flash step. It was literally less than a second. Ichigo is not under hypnosis so he didn't see what the captains was seeing. All he knows that Hinamore came and every one attacked her at once. That's why he didn't worn them and was shocked by their attack on her. There was literally no Time. It all happend in no time. About Gin Ichimaru, you will know everything in the upcoming couple episodes.
I believe the switch occurred between soi-fon's attack and shunsui's. (Personally) He could easily negate the 2-hit kill (he's resisted worse) and shunsui is one of the few captans with the raw power to actually harm aizen physically, and a blade that fat would def have left a lasting effect on aizen *if it had hit him. No offense to soi-fon(shes still a badass), but shunsui is leagues ahead and aizen was probably more worried about him. Reminder for those who don't remember: shunsui and jushiro are 2 of the oldest soul reapers (after genryusai) and they are his students, it stands to reason that they are the 2nd and 3rd most powerful shinigami of the gotei 13. (The current gotei 13, no spoilers here)
Age doesn’t have too much bearing on strength. For experience, sure. But some people are just naturally powerful. Like how kenpachi is just so powerful. Also, people shouldn’t have said shit about unohana. Another important thing is, the age they look aren’t necessarily representative of how old they are. I always figured that age for souls is more so narrative or characterization based.
You guys gotta remember that the zanpaktou is a reflection/manifestation of the person using it, in other words, aizens sword wouldnt be so strong if aizen himself wasnt so powerful...

You can't really ask why Aizen is so strong without also asking the same of people like Kenpachi, Yama, Starrk etc. He just is. Also think about how Kyokasuigetsu would be near useless in literally anyone else's hands. Only because of Aizen's overwhelming spiritual pressure are his illusions practically unbreakable. If he wasn't as strong as he was, any of the captains could just focus a bit harder and clear the effect. Aizen rolled all 7s on the soul reaper slot machine when he was born, that's all there is to it.
also don't forget that none of these captains used bankai, because some of the bankais are dangerous to the point of that can hit their teammates, so if it was 1v1 vs shinsui for example, it wouldn't be this much difference of a power
It’s stated that a soul reapers zanpaktou and abilities get stronger with age that’s why Yamamoto is so strong even his shikai is Stronger than most bankais and his arsenal although being limited to fire based is still insane some of his abilities he shows in TYBW are mind blowing I literally got chills reading his fight but it’s actually shown that Yamamotos zanpaktou didn’t have that many abilities a 1000 years ago Yamamoto, shunsui, unohana, and ukitake are the 4 pillars of the soul society and are the oldest captains we know of specifically unohana and Yamamoto being the oldest kenpachi is actually around shunsui and ukitakes age but he hasn’t been a captain for that long not even a 100 years which is why he is so strong even though his zanpaktou doesn’t have any special abilities his experience and power is ridiculously high Yama is confirmed to be older than 2100+ years old but we don’t know his exact age likely 3000+ unohana we don’t know but based off Flashbacks she is likely 1800-2000+ years old and kenpachi, shunsui, and ukitake are over 1000 years old BUT are less than 1200 years old we know their exact range based off spoilery reasons which I won’t explain with kenpachi likely being slightly older than shunsui and ukitake based off flashbacks
There is a filler arc where a character controls the senses almost like aizen. They are able to overcome it, in a clever way IMO even more than these fights lol. Leave it to a filler to write a way to beat control of senses. The villian in that arc can also control bankia's or something. Weird how that filler kinda well i wont go into it...It also hints at how swords work given the sword in the filler can be used by anyone. Im guessing a few captains could beat aizen at this moment if they werent tired, old ones mostly. Aizen was most afraid of the ones he trapped IMO or took care to avoid. Who wants to go all out when you dont need to..
You can negate someone's ability with overwhelming spiritual pressure. Ulquiorra did this to Ichigo's Getsuga in his first release state. Even if you have a really hax ability it's not going to be useful against someone much stronger than you.

Kyokasuigetsu controls users senses so that means hearing too, so Ichigo couldn't warn the captains at anytime until Aizen unleashed it

Interesting thing that I noticed when I was younger and I had finished watching Bleach, notice that Aizen's two second-in-command personnel have a similarity where one is blind and the other never opens his eyes. This is kinda symbolic I think, as Aizen's ability works on those who sees his Zanpakto.

As a huge shock in the bleach series, aizens zanpakuto( Kyokasuigetsu) has a few weaknesses based on the soul society arc when he used his power to create illusions and the fake karakura town arc when he used his abilities to manipulate everyone

There was a filler with Captain Susuke Amagai before this part. He used a weapon called Bakkoto, which had the power to neutralize the Shinigami powers of those around him. If he could've focused that power on just Aizen, that would've removed his Zanpakuto from the fight.

Speaking of Aizen's age we know for a fact he's not older then Shunsui and Ukitake since Yamamoto stated they were the first to become captains from the academy he created (Aizen could of just been accepted without going through the Academy, but since he's wasn't trying to be noticed that wouldn't be likely).
Age doesn't always mean power since Shunsui stated he thinks Toshiro will surpass his strength in about 100 years. Aizen likely was a prodigy that was very more gifted then Toshiro & has had the time to develop his power to its full potential (hence why he's looking to break his limits & gain greater power since he's hit his ceiling as a Soul Reaper).
Honestly Aizen does look insanely strong, but it makes you think how much of that is an illusion & how much is it his "basic" strength? Since we only see things from the victims POV how much of what we see is real with Aizen & how much is he just playing with them.

As Aizen says "a battle between soul reapers is a battle between spiritual power" Aizen has the strongest spiritual power amongst the soul society so he is able to overpower and nullify the powers and strength of the other captains, and that is before we start talking about his zanpaktou

I especially like the argument "everyone hasn't heard Ichigo". Yeah, and Ichigo himself was standing in the same place, and watched as Hinamori was pierced. Then where are the wounds from Soi-Fon and Kioraku on Hinamori? When did Aizen carry out the substitution? And if he did it a long time ago, then where did his thoughts about the cunning of shikai Hirako come from? In general, this is one of the strangest moments of Bleach.

One of my favorite episodes in bleach. Just in relation to your comment about the age, you should also take the fact that some of these guys are just built different. For example, Ichigo has gone from no power to stronger than a Captain in a bit over a year. So imagine Aizen being a prodigy to the extent Ichigo is, but way older than Ichigo and way smarter.
I know we kinda filling in the gaps, but that's kinda how I made sense of it all. Once you see the next 5 episodes, you'll understand that he does have limits.

Let's just say he hit the power and smarts Soul reaper lottery when he reached there after death. And you still might find out why he is so strong later in the series. Like Yuhwch and the sickly white hair Captain( Ukitake) that has special abilities because of their connections(relationships) to the Soul King. Amongst all good anime adds a few out-liners info in the animation series. So call it filler-or non-canon. But some series acknowledges that so new things are now Canon. You know. BLEACH is definitely one that I can see doing that. Just like Naruto, one piece, and bleach has already. And many more other anime series.

aizen has twice the reiatsu and spiritual presure of someone like second form ulquiorra or transformed stark,makes sense why no captain can fight him,its why the espadas followed him in the first place.
People keep saying that Aizen deactivated his ability and ichigos voice didn't reach the captains.
First of all, when you c aizen's shi kai, its over. There is no deactivation for it. U r under hypnosis forever.
Second, you really should keep in mind that you r watching captains and high ranks shinigami fighting Aizen with their ultimate speed. They all r using flash step and the entire attack on aizen by shunsui, toshiro and soi fon was no more than 1 second or less. The reason the attack feels like 2 minutes is that you r watching it in a realllly slow motion so you can understand what's goin on. They had to give you a chance to comprehend what happened. It was an coordinated attack in which they inverted aizens senses so toshiro can hold him still with ice so soi fon can sting him twice from front, shunsui stabbed him from behind as an extra, all using flash step. It was literally less than a second. Ichigo is not under hypnosis so he didn't see what the captains was seeing. All he knows that Hinamore came and every one attacked her at once. That's why he didn't worn them and was shocked by their attack on her. There was literally no Time. It all happend in no time.

I believe the switch occurred between soi-fon's attack and shunsui's. (Personally)
He could easily negate the 2-hit kill (he's resisted worse) and shunsui is one of the few captans with the raw power to actually harm aizen physically, and a blade that fat would def have left a lasting effect on aizen *if it had hit him.
No offense to soi-fon(shes still a badass), but shunsui is leagues ahead and aizen was probably more worried about him.
Reminder for those who don't remember: shunsui and jushiro are 2 of the oldest soul reapers (after genryusai) and they are his students, it stands to reason that they are the 2nd and 3rd most powerful shinigami of the gotei 13. (The current gotei 13, no spoilers here)

Age doesn’t have too much bearing on strength. For experience, sure. But some people are just naturally powerful. Like how kenpachi is just so powerful. Also, people shouldn’t have said shit about unohana. Another important thing is, the age they look aren’t necessarily representative of how old they are. I always figured that age for souls is more so narrative or characterization based.

You can't really ask why Aizen is so strong without also asking the same of people like Kenpachi, Yama, Starrk etc. He just is.
Also think about how Kyokasuigetsu would be near useless in literally anyone else's hands. Only because of Aizen's overwhelming spiritual pressure are his illusions practically unbreakable. If he wasn't as strong as he was, any of the captains could just focus a bit harder and clear the effect. Aizen rolled all 7s on the soul reaper slot machine when he was born, that's all there is to it.

It’s stated that a soul reapers zanpaktou and abilities get stronger with age that’s why Yamamoto is so strong even his shikai is Stronger than most bankais and his arsenal although being limited to fire based is still insane some of his abilities he shows in TYBW are mind blowing I literally got chills reading his fight but it’s actually shown that Yamamotos zanpaktou didn’t have that many abilities a 1000 years ago Yamamoto, shunsui, unohana, and ukitake are the 4 pillars of the soul society and are the oldest captains we know of specifically unohana and Yamamoto being the oldest kenpachi is actually around shunsui and ukitakes age but he hasn’t been a captain for that long not even a 100 years which is why he is so strong even though his zanpaktou doesn’t have any special abilities his experience and power is ridiculously high Yama is confirmed to be older than 2100+ years old but we don’t know his exact age likely 3000+ unohana we don’t know but based off Flashbacks she is likely 1800-2000+ years old and kenpachi, shunsui, and ukitake are over 1000 years old BUT are less than 1200 years old we know their exact range based off spoilery reasons which I won’t explain with kenpachi likely being slightly older than shunsui and ukitake based off flashbacks

There is a filler arc where a character controls the senses almost like aizen. They are able to overcome it, in a clever way IMO even more than these fights lol. Leave it to a filler to write a way to beat control of senses. The villian in that arc can also control bankia's or something. Weird how that filler kinda well i wont go into it...It also hints at how swords work given the sword in the filler can be used by anyone. Im guessing a few captains could beat aizen at this moment if they werent tired, old ones mostly. Aizen was most afraid of the ones he trapped IMO or took care to avoid. Who wants to go all out when you dont need to..
