I think the 16" model would be perfect for me but sometimes it looks like a boat in size for me 😅.
I think I will go for this size.
    Thanks for sharing your opinion!

I got the same M3 Pro and it fits in my 15 inch laptop sleeve perfectly.

hey, I am glad if this can help.
And yes, exactly, that was my initial thought. But it turns out 16" is still compact enough that I didn’t feel much size difference compared to my 15" Dell laptop.
I really think the screen, speaker, battery and fan experience is absolutely worth it! 🎉

Hi Davit! I am planning to buy m3 max macbook. How do you like it so far? What are you gonna use it for?

Hey, simply put I like my 16" MacBook Pro with M3Pro Chip, it's good enough for me.
The priority was using Fiji (ImageJ) for image analysis, Seurat (R package) for RNA-seq data, and analyzing large Excel data (~300,000 rows). I occasionally use it to create figures on Adobe Illustrator.
I needed a balance between a strong CPU and a decent GPU. Since the data I work with is usually large, I opted for a 1TB SSD. I decided to stick with 18GB of RAM as it's mostly sufficient, except for occasional extreme cases where SSD usage may be needed (but not enough to justify the high cost of a RAM upgrade).
MAX Chips are GPU-centric, making them ideal for tasks like 3D work, gaming, and image/video processing. However, since all options have comparable CPUs, waking up the MAX chip's powerful GPU for less demanding tasks wouldn't outweigh the benefits of less fan noise and a longer battery life offered by the 16" MacBook Pro M3Pro with 1TB SSD.
I made this choice after watching TH-cam channels 'High Yield' for excellent chip analysis: th-cam.com/video/8bf3ORrE5hQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fx5NBOLVJOZ9AVZ7 and 'Just Josh' to understand why I prioritized upgrading the SSD over the RAM th-cam.com/video/Fv78mPxRp9A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RrhGTIpdLSyM-A1n .
If you'd like me to focus less on technical analysis and instead share my experience as a PhD student with a dynamic workflow that influenced this decision, I'd be happy to do so. Just let me know.
A bit of a long response, but I really want you to make a choice that will make you happy! 🤩

      P.S. If I were to buy the M3 Max MacBook, I would definitely go with the 16" version. It’s a no-brainer. 👌

@@iamdavit Thanks a lot. Your response will definitely help me on my decision. Aside from technical aspect of the m3 macbook do you feel like the apple ecosystem is superior. This is gonna be my first time using personal macbook if ai buy it.

It’s hard to admit and feels a bit like betrayal lol. But so far, I think MacOS has worked out better for me (I can only judge against Windows 10, but knowing Windows, I highly doubt the things that were annoying me would be any different on Windows 11 😅)
