  • We are starting weekly online karate classes from the 3rd of August: email dojo@grkc1978.com to get added to the sign-up list. Ché serves up a feast of bunkai with this Seiyunchin-based flow drill, designed to use kakie to tease out the best of Seiyunchin kata and making it more pragmatic in close quarters fighting.
Brian says one whole word, and remains an admirable crash test dummy.
    Chapters:
    00:00 - Intro
00:41 - Opening move: yama uke, gedan barai
    01:35 - Sukui-uke, nukite
02:03 - Flow drills and shuhari
    03:55 - Supported punch
05:29 - Grab and elbow strike
05:52 - Supported chest block, shikodachi and gedan barai
    09:11 - Open-handed high and low block
10:47 - Inner forearm strike and uraken
12:11 - Morote uke/double block up to kiai uppercut & gedan barai
    13:38 - Double elbow break/strike
16:44 - Block/uraken up until the morote uke
    18:26 - In summary

As kote-kitae is Go and kakie is Ju, then kakie is not a bridge between bunkai and kumite but a sneaky way to twist your brian. Or what do I know. :o)
