Thank you, I appreciate it. I have been using the 50mm f/1.2 for the past four years, and I own almost all the other L-series lenses. This one is excellent.
@@Arshandays Ya, I've rented it a few times before and I'm thinking about buying for 2025... but was torn given the better price on the 1.4. I'm still a bit torn because I'm intending to be really hybrid... 70% video and 30% photos... but I'm no longer torn because of lack of info. 1.2 wasn't too bad when it came to video but it was amazing it came to photos. I'm leaning towards the 1.2 but I might rent the 1.4 for a day or two first.
@@melvinrram Yes, renting a lens before committing to it is a great way to see if it works with your workflow. For example, I’ve rented the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 on two different times, and due to the wide diameter of the barrel, it was challenging to zoom in and out quickly during live weddings. I’ve been using the RF 24-105mm f/2.8 lens, and it’s definitely been a game-changer for my workflow. Absolutely love this lens, with the Canon R5 ii, I can quickly crop in-camera by 1.7x, giving me a range of 24mm to 178.5mm. Maybe I should make a video about that lens. Just out of curiosity, what type of work do you do?
@@Arshandays I've definitely been close to buying the RF 24-105mm f/2.8 lens a few times. I started with the RF 24-105mm f/4 lens, sold that and move to the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 lens... but I've missed the reach of the 105mm. I also have the RF 70-200mm 2.8 but it's a hassle swapping when all you want is just a little bit more reach so I'm not in everyone's way or a bit more compression. Anyway, I've subscribed. Looking forward to what other content you'll create.
Thanks for the honest review. It's great to know the focus and magenta color. Most reviews dont mention colors on lenses. I would love to see the rf 24mm 1.4 review. Thanks again.
@@Arshandaysyou’re asking about autofocus and also asking about fps. In terms of both it depends on what I’m shooting. If portraits then single shot autofocus and also single shot fps. Anything else I use servo AF and depending on what I’m shootings Either 5-20 fps. I primarily use the fan r5 II and use an r6 II as a backup and low light camera.
@@mattgericke4537 Interesting side question: Did you update your Canon R5 II to the new firmware (1.0.2), and have you noticed any issues with photos? I've noticed that when there is more than one subject in the frame, the camera tends to autofocus on whichever subject is closest, even if the head isn't facing me (e.g., focusing on the back of the head). It will prioritize whatever's closest, even if it's not a face. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
@@Arshandaysno, I’ve not updated yet because the fixes they noted didn’t effect me and I didn’t want to rush to do it since the camera was operating perfectly. Guess I’ll hold off. Do you use dual back button focus? That’s what I use and it works great on 1.01
I’ve been waiting on someone to do a comparison of these. Thank you. Sounds like the 1.2 is best for photography.

Letss goo!! Amazing quick review!! Looking forward to more videos and reviews!!
If I primarily did videography, I would recommend getting the 1.4, as the autofocus is quieter and smoother than the 1.2.
Thanks Arshan, I was looking for exactly this comparison!
Happy to help :)

Damnn, that 50 1.2 RF thoooo
The 50 1.2 is a legendary lens
I’ve also got both lenses, my keeper rate is the same but do not notice the purple
interesting, what camera body do you use and do you shoot in one shot or continuous autofocus?

Thank you for the information about focus accuracy. This wasn't mentioned by the other reviewers.
Can you do a Sony Camera Review? I really enjoyed this video!
Thank you and is there any particular Sony camera that your interested in?
