The fact is a lowly Ford is keeping up and at times gaining on a 100k dollar more expensive Porsche. Love the GT 350 IMO the best Mustang ever made. Great video!
Seeing how the GT3 was in front it would exit the corner first and be first on the throttle. For that same reason the GT350 is last on the brakes so it looks like it's reeling the GT3 when entering the corner. So it's not really walking away from the GT350R. It's racing dynamics.
The mighty ACR was apparently busy watching you chase and scare that GT3 so he granted the both of you an easy pass. This was fun to watch ! Superb driving and awesome machine this GT350R
As far as competing with the GT3, the Ford looked like it was being driven for thrills, not for lap times. Stepping the back out, 3:04 slow exit but then caught up, lot's of fun but not the fastest way.
Not to mention the white Porsche 993 in front of the 991 GT3 was slow as hell. It did sound like the GT350 owner was killing the RPM's killing exit speed out of the corners by having to shift all the time.
@@JuergenGDB Over-shifting it. Jackie Stewart frowned upon that sort of thing, keep it a gear higher and it won't be trying to step out anywhere near as much.

I'm a ford guy but the Porsche driver was just way smoother then you. Mustangs have power but will never handle like a Porsche. His smooth driving kept you in his rear view with less power until he let you pass him.
yes that is true we do specialize in Porsches but we do work on other vehicles such as Mustangs, BMW, and even Camaros. the mustang in this video is on Michelin Pilot sports and we do run Cup 2rs on the Porsche but right now have eagle F1's on our gt3.

Mustang more than Holds it Own. to Settle the "shitty" Argument throw the passenger(s) out, new tires Goodyear 3r's 305 & 325's, and put Mustang out front and see if it can pull away and be gone... Porsche has slight advantage IMO (GT350 owner) but if you can drive the Mustang like you stole it advantage is gone Wide angle lens will make any car at corner exit under throttle look like it's pulling way more than it actually is
Both cars are very fast, however, driver ability plays a huge role - unless there driven back go back by the same driver it's impossible to say, which is quickest. The Porsche has most likely better handing. BTW I dtive a Mustang GT and I love my car.
Nordschleife... GT3 is top 10 here and a Shelby GT500 top 150... Actually like 15-20 GT3's before we make it to the Shelby.. so just a lol to the "impossible"

@@SurfinRacer you don't have to take my word for it, the GT350 was benchmarked against the GT3 during development and is competitive with cars from that era. As far the video, it's been discussed ad nauseum there was obviously traffic but once free the Mustang was competitive with the GT3 despite having worn tires.
I don't know about a chase down, but you definitely got walked around that track. Only Caught up in traffic. Looks like mad fun, but you had no chance . Porsche wasn't even pushing hard and never broke traction like your wild ass mustang was. Nice job not crashing... but it was close😮😅

GT3 is being driven by Billy Johnson, who drove the Ford GT at the 24 hours of Le Mans and competes in various GT3 and GT4 series. So the only thing keeping the GT3 in front is the fact that a "real" driver is behind the wheel.

Not as simple as that. The tires on the mustang are heavily worn at this point meanwhile this was the porsches first session out on the tires.
