I am so so excited to find another Catholic homeschooler. My faith in Jesus deepened during 2020 which eventually led me to the Catholic Church. I will be joining next Easter and my daughter has been baptized. Homeschooling was such an unexpected blessing of 2020.
Long before I became a wife and mother I stumbled on different Christian, large family, homeschooling mommas and couldn't stop watching. This has been on my heart for many years and my husband is now on board. We have a 2 year old daughter and one on the way, but I can't wait to homeschool!
God Bless, your family strikes me as a true miracle of God's grace in this insane, decadent world. May our Mother of Perpetual Succour shower you and your family with Grace, greetings from Poland!
Fellow Catholic homeschooler! Best decision I've ever made, and very grateful God has held my hand throughout this journey. I even found a homeschool co-op at my Catholic Church which has been such a blessing. I resonate with your reasoning to homeschool so much. Thanks for sharing your story!
Thank you so much for sharing your story and curriculum you use. I began homeschooling my two girls that currently are in grade 3 and 8 when covid happened and it was by far the best decision I could have ever made it was an opportunity to open my eyes and get a rude awakening to see what is going on in our schools and what my kids are really being taught. We are a Roman Catholic family and the biggest mistake I made with our kids was sending them to school from the very beginning, I regret that choice I made and if I could give any advice to new parents that would be to please homeschool your precious gifts from God because our Catholic schools now days don't differ from public schools, unfortunately they support everything bad going on in the world today not only do we see it around us but as well as per my discussion with the super intendant of the Catholic School Board of Education regarding a issue I have teaching our children about "family" having two moms or two dads makes a family. Yes, we need to love people around us something that I teach my kids all the time but this does not mean accepting their way of life as good and an example to follow, teaching this to our kids in a Catholic school goes against everything Jesus taught us to join him on our journey here on earth to our eternal home in heaven the road is very narrow but I want to do everything I can for the sake of my family to stay on it even when we come across many difficult obstacles on the way, the reward will be greater than one could ever imagine.🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing your views. I am thinking about homeschooling and looking at a lot of content. We are a catholic family. I love the things you are point out about schools!!! Thank you
You should definately go for it. I've been doing it for 9 years in Finland, and being Catholic there is not very common. Here, homeschooling is very regulated, but I keep telling myself "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." And it has proven to be true! Go for it!
I know this is an older video, but if someone is looking for the curriculum you mentioned, It’s Mater Amabalis. Also, the church does not dictate whether the faithful must adhere to either literal 6- day creation or theistic evolution; both are acceptable. Catholic scientists have made a huge contribution to the body of scientific knowledge.
You know, we spoke a few years ago on FB and it's nice to see your videos not so cut...i love watching you as a raw person because it shows your humanity in its purest form. Just a simple ("normal") person having a conversation. With everything happening i'm just more drawn to you...the same as you...slowly stepping away from a LOT of the freedom community bc there's some not so honest/nice ppl in that community. I'm still active...but I'm watching myself focus more on family/kids/self...we only have so much control and i'm giving more and more of it up :) .... The point of all this...thank you. :) It's just a LOT, as you said, and being okay with this mess is a huge thing LOL
I really like what you said about the argument of our children being the light. I have heard that a few times in our 8 years of homeschooling as a reason for our kids to join certain activities or the public school. Thank you!!
Hi it’s my first time watching your videos and I’m so glad I found your channel 😊 I’m a traditional catholic homeschooling mama of 4 (so far) and we use St. Jerome Library for curriculum. My mother in law used OLV curriculum for her 15 children so I’m keeping it open as an option as well. I’ve recently heard about Charlotte Mason and have been questioning if I should get her books to see if integrating some of her teachings might be helpful since classical curriculum can get boring easily. Look forward to watching more 😊
I'm a catholic homeschooler in Poland. I really Like your account. Tjanks for shareing your experience. I also Like to Tell, that catholics belives in Evolution. We know there are menu theories. But i researched Thora topic "what the catholic church says about the Evolution". The Genesis is written Like an potem, it should not be read literally. As far as I know. But I really love that you told your perspective.
Hello! Thanks for watching and for the comment. Throughout history Genesis was always believed to be a historical account. 100% of Church Fathers believed this and they believed in a young earth. One of the recent former Popes also warned about the dangers of evolution being taught… and he was right as now we have even mainstream “apologists” making videos suggesting Adam and Eve were not real people. It’s truly shocking. The Bible and catechism say death came through sin. Evolution says man came from death. Kolbe Institute for Creation is a Catholic apostolate that teaches more about this.
I’m actually debating whether to put my kid back in public school, ca the Olof school or homeschool. I just feel like I am not equipped to do homeschool and unfortunately catholic school is way out of our budget.
I am a Catholic convert (also baptised as a baby but never confirmed) and though I do not homeschool I am a huge supporter of it. However in my country it is not very accepted or popular to do so. Love your reasons for homeschooling, I just have one caveat and that is your stance on evolution. I know for a fact that the Catholic church believes in theist evolution (so evolution guided by God) and your view on it seems very conservative protestant. I wonder where you got your info on the catholic viewpoint on this.
The Catholic Church allows for people to believe in that type of evolution - but they also allow for young earth creation and to reject any form of evolution. They don’t take a firm stance on it one way or the other
@@DefundBigpHARMa yes that is what I thought. I guess that is why I have never heard a strong Catholic stance against it. Just discovered your channel through This Mama's House. Trying to sprinkle more catholic content through my feed. Love your story and feel so sad your son had to go through that. You are such an awesome mother letting him opt out ❤️
@@CharlotteGys there is an AMAZING apostolate called “Kolbe Institute” run by Catholics - scientists etc. Fr. Ripperger has worked with them during their series “Foundations Restored” - it is a very deep dive into the history of the roots of evolution, goes into the science etc. it is SO good. I know some well known apologists that are YEC but don’t speak openly about it. God bless you!!!
Diocesean schools are (sadly) just barely Catholic these days. Chesterton, Regina Caeli and other independent options are more adherent to the Magisterium.

GLORY TO GOD! Great to connect with you!
Praise the Lord
I’m a Catholic Homeschool Mom too!!

What is a co-op?
Loved hearing a bit about your history! This is motivating me to film some get to know me videos
I so understand this video I love it! Thank you for making it!

Thank you 🙏🏻
I love that you are so bold and I agree 100% with all you said! These are the reasons we are homeschooling our littles also.
Great commentary! Thank you for sharing your perspective!

Starting to homeschool my toddler in September! Looking forward to all of it 🥰
God bless you on your journey!!! It's so worth it!
I just discovered your channel! I’m a mom of 6 and we homeschool and use Seton. Love from Maine ❤
God bless! Glad you’re here!
Thank you for sharing! My first video of yours❤

As someone who grew up in a country catholic by law, bah! I like my freedom
Homeschooling is a dream come true
But if they go to Catholic school isn’t that ok? Are they still taught evolution there etc?
I’m actually debating whether to put my kid back in public school, ca the Olof school or homeschool. I just feel like I am not equipped to do homeschool and unfortunately catholic school is way out of our budget.

I mean, if there’s a Catholic school nearby, why is homeschooling a better option ?
It is just my own personal conviction
Where are the links you discussed? Would love to check out those talks.
I'm so sorry that I'm just seeing this comment! The links are in the description of the video now. Thank you for letting me know!
