    My best friends are from California and even they hate how transplants are trying to Californicate Idaho.

    We left CA due to taxes, crime, and drug addicts, all of which are related to politics. With new personnel running the state, it could easily regain its #1 destination rating.

    I lived in Idaho for two years and loved the area. I noticed that I was a better, and faster, driver than most locals. (They are pretty bad) Another thing is once I got used to digging myself out of the driveway daily in the winter, I got used to it. I never had any driving issues in the winter with an AWD, but I noticed that EVERY time it snowed, there were at least 3 or 4 accidents in a small local area. I couldn't figure out why the locals couldn't figure out how to drive in the winter when they had been there for so much longer.

      It's because they aren't _true_ locals, but transplants from states that don't usually get snowy/icy roads in the winter.

    I wish I did move there 15 years ago when prices were real cheap. I would like to in 15 years please keep it AS IT IS. Everything I have seen when I was there and these videos is bliss. Everything I hate about CALIFORNIA I never want to see again when I leave. I say be careful what u wish for.. When I moved to a suburban town I live in California in 2008 there was not many stores, restaurants ect but once they built it all out boy the population doubled and traffic is crazy. You hit that on the head. So keep it simple, keep it small town fill and it will be nice. That will be the challenge. I will hunt for a small town in Idaho when I come...
    I'm not ready for a scouting trip yet but I would love to come visit in November as a small trip where would u recommend me visit for 5-7 days on my agenda????

    As someone born and raised in CA, moved to TX and now want to live closer to the pacific where geography closely matches what we’re used too, we want to live and blend with the people in Idaho! We want to keep it the beautiful, conservative state it is! We also can’t stand people who have left CA for all its problems but keep their blue voting habits! I tell blue Texans all the time : have you considered CA? lol

    • @mozfedora9977
      @mozfedora9977 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you considered moving back to CA? The vast majority of the transplants to Idaho over the past 30 have been overwhelmingly conservative. Additionally, the state GOP has had an entrenched, long standing super majority at nearly every level of government for the past 40 years. Those two things combined are the primary driving force behind the crowding, congestion, overpriced properties and rentals, as well becoming even _more_ of a haven for right wing extremism. As a third generation native Idahoan, I've watched Idaho go from a truly wonderful place to live to an absolute mess because you folks. You've turned into the very places you were trying to get away from. And how are y'all liking that terrible air quality we have most of the year now?

    • @alexischristensen7496
      @alexischristensen7496 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ the last 4+ years have changed a lot for every state, and the political climate has become very polarized everywhere, not just bc of people moving from state to state.
      Respectfully, people are not chained to the state in which they were born and are free to relocate to the place they feel will best serve their family :) there’s a lot more to an individual’s personhood and character than the state they have left in the past. Not to mention the fact that people are willing to leave everything they’ve known and most of their friends, family, and community shows how motivated people are for a change.
      A lot of us have not left the state due to cost and overcrowding- we’ve left because we don’t feel that the way the state is being run reflects our voice or vote and have decided to live somewhere that reflects the values and views we most identify with! We left like many others with nothing- no big house sale to rebuy in a new state with cash. Prices are up across the country bc there is low supply and high demand- rich Californians are not solely responsible for the housing crisis 😅
      People are upset over the changes that have occurred over the past decade or so but spending time on TH-cam to leave angry comments on realty channels doesn’t actually change anything.
      Merry Christmas 🎄

      @@alexischristensen7496 Imagine for moment what it sounds like to a native Idahoan to read a California transplant asking "blue Texans" if they'd consider moving back to the state they came from. A great many of us wish you'd do the same. You state, "We also can’t stand people who have left CA for all its problems but keep their blue voting habits!" If you actually knew anything about Idaho it's that the Democrats have been a fractional minority in the state's politics for over 40 years. Idaho's unaffordability hasn't occurred in just the last 4 years. Some of the biggest jumps in mortgages and rent prices happened during Mr. Trump's tenure in the oval office and when the GOP held majorities in both houses - a fact that is consistently, and conveniently, ignored by conservatives blaming "liberals" for Idaho's high cost of living and various societal ills. The only "Californication" of Idaho is happening because the Orange County conservative types are moving here in droves.
      I was a lifelong Republican until 30 years ago. I'm no longer affiliated with any party. The absolute _least_ of your worries should be about Democrats in Idaho. The extremely imbalanced nature of our legislature guarantees we'll continue ranking at or near the bottom of just about every socio-economic indicator. You're right, leaving comments on a YT channel won't change anything. You're free to express your opinion of course. Just realize that your opinion on this matter sounds ridiculous to those of us who have deep roots in this state. To us, you sound like a teenager trying to tell an older adult about the facts of life. We have the benefit of the long, historical view. You don't.
      Happy Solstice to you. 🙂

    Being born and raised from Arizona, the change in politics, population and cost of living has drastically changed because of California. We ended up leaving Az because the crime increased and just couldn’t afford to live in the state any further.

    Make a video on Mormonism in Idaho. That’s something important to know for people moving to Idaho who aren’t accustomed to being around lots of Mormons. I looks at google maps on Nampa and there are many lds churches, but only 1 catholic and Protestant. Very different from California.

      True, it'd be a shame to move to Idaho and learn that there's these super friendly, cookie and platitude delivering neighbors who produce children raised in a Christ-centered home. Some people hate that and they should stay in their left coast state.

    Yea idaho used to be affordable, it isnt anymore. Homes and taxes have gone up. Also local retail, car dealers ect, charge what they want. Be ready to order everything from online. Groceries and gas are also now abnormally high. Was affordable before covid. Wages are still low here, good paying jobs are few and far between. So people who live here now cant even afford an apartment. If you are thinking of moving here, i would say dont do it.
