Thank you for sharing your story. I wish more people would see this TH-cam. I always believed we have no choice even before birth, of who we are. You are Loved, Respected, and Cared for deeply by this mom, aunt, grandma, sister.etc..💕
A niece of mine married a former Hutterite whom grew up on a large farming/ranching operation in S Dakota. Large semi trucks would deliver to the colony and he got the itch to see what was beyond the walls. He ran away once, but went back as not to leave his younger brother. Eventually he left again, working with a friendly rancher until he could get on his feet. He drove over the road for five years before settling in WI. The first time he visited with his new wife, he had to surrender his vehicle keys for the duration of his stay in case he might try to smuggle out someone from the group. Hutterites are unusually susceptible to Bowen-Conradi syndrome because of the mostly vertical family tree. At least one study has been conducted among the Hutterites because of the unusual gene pool. As for the warm feelings for the lifestyle, you may want to view Eli Yoder's tales of abuse and sexual perversion among the Amish.
Enjoyed the glimpse into Hutterite culture, despite needing to sort through the negative biase. Hutterites are Christian, so it makes no sense to criticize them for teaching Christian morals and values. I also feel its important to acknowledge the contribution woman make as homemakers, in a society that somehow upholds traditional male roles as more valuable. It's sad how feminism has created a culture that devalues and disparages women who have these skills. "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world". And you're right that many conservative Christians struggle with understanding or showing compassion for those struggling sexually.
Interesting story of your life. I know Huderite boy's who left their colony. Their name is Hofer as well. Either of them ever married but were in a few relationships. I use to live in Manitoba but now live in Mississauga, ON.
@@almabelhumeur6672Eli Yoder was Amish, not mennonite, his community was old order, similar to Schwarzentruber Amish. He is from a community, they do not live in colonies.
If you watch Giselle Waldners channel she has maybe 200 or so vlogs of her every day life on a colony, it does not look as bad as Kelly is making it out, after all, she is making youtube videos and on social media, using a phone and camera, and the elders know about it. Either things have changed a whole lot or Kelly was very unlucky being told he cant persue photography. I wonder if he does read the comments on the interview here. I would like to know what he has to say on it now.
What we see on social media is often a poor (or at least carefully curated) reflection of reality. The fact that Kelly is a member of the LGBTQ community is another fact of his life that may not be the same as others. Either way, he is the expert on his own life. Thanks for watching.
the colony she lives in is among the most liberal of the hutterites (there are three major groups). You note she is always careful to say that: in her colony"
@722dabba he is from the same colony as Giselle, I think that is what Dean is getting at, either things have changed hugely or Kelly has been very unlucky.
Hi it's Doug again, I forgot to mention, is it possible to pass my comments on to Kelly Hover and be so kind to ask him if he would like to email to me, and we can share our views. I know a member of the same Hutterite colonie that I have been regularly been writing too.
No, they do not respect the LGBTQ+ "lifestyle." I'm pretty sure people know when they are being shunned, though the shunning itself is because they have been indoctrinated into their religious belief system.
What a lovely young man. I wish for a day when the Hutterites or at least his family respects their beautiful son for what he is. He is so much more than not fitting into their box. I appreciate how his words weren’t hateful. They just were precise and explanatory. Hoping for a day that this happens. He is such a beautiful person, from inside to out. I would be so proud of him if I were his mom/grandmother. Keep going sweetheart! One day at a time! 🫶☀️
I would like to visit the Hutterites, I left a big metro area and hang out with Anabaptists in Kansas, there are so many things that Anabaptist groups do better than the modern world, which is selfish, isolated, narcissistic, indulgent, etc. There is much more socializing and a greater sense of community with these traditional Anabaptist people, you have to really avoid TV, media, pop culture, consumerism, etc, and focus on your local human community. I'm glad Kelly can find a better place for himself, the more mainstream Anabaptist groups like General Conference Mennonites are pretty progressive and accepting of LGBTQ.
Kelly. You` re right about most things you feel about religion....I get the chip on your shoulder. AND its a HUGE chip. But Jesus Christ, the man, the son of God, is not about religion. But, heres the hard part. HE will not compete with the Demon who promotes and inspires homosexuality. You must come to him alone.
Where can we get access to see and watch How to Get to Heaven with the Hutterites? What an amazing documentary. There’s no sign of anywhere anymore.

Have you listened to Eli Yoder on TH-cam? He has a very touching story of his life too. He was an Amish Mennonite and he also left the colony.
@@almabelhumeur6672 No, I hadn't heard of him previously. Thanks!

As a nonbiever, they are respecting your lifestyle. It's a Biblical lifestyle and to deny the existence of God doesn't fit. They don't shun you.

Can you interview John dehlin
I'd love to, but so far I haven't had success reaching him.

Thanks for watching. The costs of belonging to insular groups are too high for many of us.
I was kinda expecting him to be a heathen. As in Norse Pagan.
Interesting! Thanks for watching.

100% inappropriate. Keep your religion to yourself, and don't bother commenting on this channel again with proselytizing nonsense.
