They’re two of my all time favorite icons 🥰🥰. If I was old enough to understand what happened in 2008/2010 (back when it happened), I would have screamed for stupid people to stop comparing these queens. Xtina inspired tons of younger artists, including Gaga, and never copied her. They showed us how powerful they can be together with that amazing collab on Do what u want ✨

after Lady GAGA came out on the scene, most female pop stars started dressing a lot different, doing experimental stuff with their image because they saw how popular she was. Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Xtina. In interviews reporters would try to get Xtinas reaction in regards to Lady Gaga, and she said she did not know who she was, because she was brand new just releasing album and not well known yet.

Fans are always starting crap. It starts with the fans. It's pretty bad when the celebrities have to stick up for each other due to "controversies" that started with toxic fans. It's not very good representation to the artist you're a fan of. Enjoy the entertainer. Stop being a toxic fan. Enjoy Gaga or Christina or both. You can like everyone or no one. Doesn't have to be one or the other. There's enough music to go around. Loved their duet on The Voice. They did amazing. Not to mention with zero rehearsal. It was on the fly. Bionic was defenitely different than The Fame Monster. The Fame Monster was a synthpop and electropop album with dark productiona and lyrics. Bionic was an experimental electronic album (including some ballads) with sexual and emotional lyrics. Plus, Gaga had her own style back then, the outfits and the music videos, while, Christina had a more explicit style.
It's great to hear how much of a level head Lady Gaga has on her shoulders to support another incredible artist, Christina Aguilera, who Gaga drew so much inspiration from growing up.
They may be "VIEWED" as "Rivals", but in real life there is nothing more than pure love and a deep respect 🙌 💖

I also think it took a so-called flop ("Artpop") for Gaga to "embrace" "Agüilera", 'cause I found those rumours that Gaga paid/pressioned bloggers (or a 'certain' blogger who was at the top of the world in 2010, até least) to write shit about "Bionic" - which is a good album - and X-Tina, in general, back then. That recent Heidi Montag confession makes me trust those rumours even more. I still love Gaga, though.
@ I agree! Even back in 2006 when Xtina did back to basics in one of her interviews she stated she wanted to do a electronic futuristic album. Let's not forget too that her first real demo or album before she got a record deal she was already doing dance electronic music. At like 15 years old! Xtina is amazing. Don't get me wrong I love Gaga. I respect her so much. But when she came out on the scene at like 23 I don't blame her for being consumed by toxic money driven people. She was so young. Inexperienced in terms of business and fame. She did what she had to do. What makes Xtina different even at 18 she didn't let the business run her. She was opened and willing to risk it all if she wasn't allowed to be the artist she wanted to be. I think that's why Xtina doesn't need other gimmicks or side gigs to hustle. Yes, there was a confusing quiet period. But since 2018 with liberation, a tour, Las Vegas and now a follow up spanish album she's been non stop. These huge event's she's booked back to back since last year. Performing for the gays and huge venue's casual and causes. She's booked at huge places. When's the last time Lady Gaga performed for the gays or a cause before she went onto becoming an actress. Xtina stayed to her truth since her first album.

"Pitting" a woman against another woman in the public domain, i.e. comparing them, is totally fair game because gender doesn't matter. Otherwise, CA is one of the best contemporary vocalists to date and I'm glad Gaga gave her props.
Gender does matter especially in music which is male dominated. Women are marginalized in music, pitting them together is extremely unfair because they are on the sidelines.

You wouldn't thinks so, because the 3 women are the lowest paid of that list. I could make a much a longer list of male musicians who make exponentially more than women who have sold far more albums and filled more arenas. Both Swift and Jackson are Executive Producers for all their music and have full ownership of their catalogs, yet they're still paid less than their male peers who sold fewer albums.
Love and respect her so much for this! So many people love creating hate and drama between females!! Females need to ban together more because odds are so many of us go thru the exact same things and honestly need support! Christina still suffers the consequences of what Gaga and Perez did back in 2010. Both have *kind of* apologised but it’s not gonna give us the content, performances and era we could’ve had if it wasn’t for what happened, label abandoned both Bionic and Burlesque projects as a result and we lost out on a lot of content. It’s nice that Christina forgave her and they had a collaboration together and moved on. Christina even went to see her show in Vegas.

I am really not a Gaga fan at all. Like I believe she's really overrated as an actress. However, her answer was so humble and outright well said. I respect her a lot more for this. She genuinely recognized a vocal legend and honored her legacy and artistry. Hats off Gaga. 👏

Cap! Stephanie, I remember vividly what you and Perez were doing back then. The person creating those mass comparisons was your then friend, Perez. You knew very well what was going on and rode it to success. I think Gaga is very talented and seems like a decent person but never became a fan because I saw in real time what she and Perez did to Christina. Then, when she and Perez were no longer friends, she tried to throw him under the bus alone...but it was her career that benefited the most off of that.
what a stressful time to be a fan. It’s sad that some of her best work was put out then like Bionic and Burlesque had so much potential but after being abandoned by the label and sabotaged and dragged by the press there wasn’t much hope. I feel bad for all the producers and writers who worked on those projects too. It’s not just Christina and her fans that suffered. I think a lot more of this has come to light since Azealia Banks posted recently about a similar situation. Christina is just too forgiving and mature nowadays. So then when Christina came back and started unrolling her new era, which seemed to adopt a sleek electro diva style similar to the distinct imagery everyone was associating with Lady Gaga and “The Fame,” people called Christina out for going gaga. It seemed like Christina, a veteran, was influenced by the hot, up-and-coming pop star. Which is fine, there’s nothing wrong with that. It just got awkward because by 2009 Gaga indeed became the biggest artist in the world so the media had a field day with putting them against each other. There was never a feud between the two of them personally, they are friends. Christina wasn’t even close to being the only one. Sasha Fierce was Beyoncé doing the Gaga thing. And as we all know, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj spent basically all of 2009-2013 going all out gaga.

I am not stating Christina Aguilera is a saint, as one of her oldest LatinAmerican admirers and supporters I clearly know she isn't flawed either; however, I believe she would have never done something as immoral and unethical as these two did with her, and her career back in the day. Bionic sounds NOTHING like Lady Gaga's albums of the time (The Fame/The Fame Monster) Christina was just doing something different for her music style while changing with the times and people slept on that album because of the Lady Gaga comparisons because of ONE song (Not Myself Tonight) which was one of the most generic on the album. Bionic was Xtina's last really good album and unfortunately she was drowned out by artist that adapted quicker in the early 2010's (Rihanna, J.Lo, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha). Bionic was ahead of it's time, same with Lady Gaga's ARTPOP... soon people will be saying same about Katy Perry's Witness. When female pop artist get so successful experimenting can be such a hit or miss with the masses.

She never once stood up for xtina when her fans & Perez were trying to sabotage & tarnish her. It wasn’t until Artpop flopped & all the backlash she got dueting with r Kelly that she made amends with Xtina by asking her to collab.

She’s very fake & narcissistic.
But if she wanted to make artpop a hit, she would feat with someone who was successful and not someone whose career ended decades ago. Making a feat with Xtina nowadays has never been synonymous with looking for success, even because not even Xtina herself has hahaha
