I think everyone got their panties in a bunch not just because Miley was being sexual or "vulgar", but rather WHO she was being sexual with. And to what SONG. Robin Thicke's song "Blurred Lines" really comes off like a date rape song. And if I'm not mistaken, he confirmed it by saying he wanted to see what he could get away with. But I'm not 100% positive on that.
What Marina (and the Diamonds) said about Gaga is so so true! She predicted that Gaga's best was yet to come, and I hope that, in retrospect, everybody who had doubts about her capacities as an artist, has acknowledged that they misjudged her tremendously.

Cyndi Lauper i actually nicer than Madonna. She embraces Lady Gaga's art and praises her style adoption but Madonna have dissed her because of the 'Born This Way' tune.Most artist that praise Lady Gaga is indicative of caring for changes and they don't mind Lady Gaga borrowing their spotlight. Madonna however is possessive of her fame and I wish she could give Lady Gaga a chance to be embraced. Lady Gaga doesn't have a limited styles and can adapt to anything. From RnB, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Musical or maybe Opera had art is shapeshifting.

I don't think that Madonna is wrong however for being upset, while I don't like Madonna OR Gaga really for that matter I think Madonna is correct in her thoughts of her being reductive. Yes Gaga is talented, she can sing - dance - put on a show. She is one hell of a performer, but people calling her an artist? She focuses on convincing people she is an artist more than being one.
Lets not forget that in under a six month period she changed her writing style, song genre, performance style, appearance, audience and so on. I mean, she went from being a brunette to a platinum blonde with blunt bangs and lavender streaks. Performing on a stool, seated in ballet flats and jeans with a guitar to fetish gear and fully choreographed dance numbers along with relying on gimmicks such as the disco stick and now having people vomit on her. Her music back when she was just Stephanie was very acoustic and 2002 Avril Lavignesque and then she went to dance hits and what she is doing now?
Not to mention the dozens upon dozens of songs that are a little bit more than inspiration based, ironically all HITS of these other artists during their time of fame. While they may not ALL be seen as plagiarism now, Chuck Berry sued The Beach Boys for less obvious theft and it still doesn't make it right because it's legal. Sam Smith even got in trouble with " Stay with Me ", despite there being NO possibility of him stealing the original song from Tom Petty. ( Tom Petty has no career in the UK, legitimately no one knows who he is. ) --- In Gaga's case they are people we know she says she is inspired by, like Bowie.
Recycling doesn't make you an artist and neither do gimmicks. Gaga's fanbase has shrunk heavily because shock value only lasts so long for specific people.

In under a 6 month period she started mimicking the fashion and posing combinations of the most famous alt / fetish now pin-up model, Miss Mosh. :/ Once Mosh went pin-up, guess who followed?
She has used similar outfits with the same poses even and there are a lot of stories of hers that don't add up and sound like they were taken from some 80's-90's film where she is the underdog which is her entire thing.

How many years of endless scrutinizing has she went through BEFORE and AFTER the harsher periods of her career. No one else would have survived that head shaving and marriage scandal etc.
We get it, vocally she isn't Xtina. But the public is to blame for why Brit can't sing now as well as the management. She used to have skill and now she is just oversexed whispers and a woman who has forgotten to sing.
That said, " Everytime " is more beautiful than any song Gaga or Madonna have written and she defined in era in music just the same as Madonna did and you can hear and see Britney in each and every upcoming Korean pop artist. You won't see that coming from Gaga, because Gaga hasn't done anything for art.

In photographs she uses the same looks and doesn't even change the pose. When that woman had blunt bangs platinum hair and lavender streaks? Gaga did. When that alt model went more dark and fetish, Gaga did. When that model did the curly fro? Gaga did. When that same woman went pin-up? Gaga did. Oh and when Gaga finally went natural? Guess who did 3 months earlier? It sounds like a long shot, but it's oddly too similar to be true considering that model is the most famous fetish model of today, Miss Mosh.
Nothing Gaga has done is art, it's controversy with a meaning attached later on to make her sound more intelligent, just what hipster culture does. [ Please see Lorde ] ; Everyone trying to be a knock-off Bjork when they know very little about art and music as to where Bjork was a trained composer.
Gaga is talented - Gaga is beautiful. She can dance - is a good ( not fantastic and jaw dropping ) singer with an array of talents including the piano. She however isn't going to be a fraction of the legend someone like Stevie Nicks or Cher is. Gimmicks aren't enough when everyone else is doing them too.

The word is criticize, dear and she was " raped " supposedly, not " rapped ". There is no proof of her alleged rape and it's sad that we have to question it, but more false rape accusations are made every day than real ones, that isn't an opinion - it's a fact that they will teach you in schools especially in psychology courses because there are people who lie and stretch things about their past, like Gaga knowingly has before as a means of gaining sympathy and attention.
Gaga has said in the past, when confronted by statements of people from her past - that she doesn't believe she lies that she just remembers things differently. Which, the comparisons were night and day.
Also, Gaga's song doesn't seem that really emotionally invested if we're being honest.She seemed much more passionate and understanding in other songs that had nothing to do with a serious topic. It seemed like a very generic and commercial song that should have struck a chord with people and informed them harshly enough to a point they could understand an ounce of that pain, not just " Hey, you won't understand - til it happens to you. " which is what personally many people say about anything even as little as burning your finger or cutting it on paper.
A singer like Fiona Apple, a factually proven rape survivor would have driven that song into the hearts of many because she has more vocal qualities that she could have used especially in her prime. Even now she could, her voice has gotten a lot smokier - dark - tainted and grim. Gaga's song just seemed like a song for a high-school class to listen to as they are lulled to sleep by a boring tape that they should have been listening to.

How strange that everyone talks about her attitude and costumes. Yet, no one has the guts to criticize her voice, the range of her voice and her interpretation of her songs. that is the truth... people that managed so many things in their lives, people that are important talks about lady gaga sooooo good... the haters are just little people that they are affraid off her freedom and creativity and the media that want to make people love other pop stars for commercial reasons
I think its also that these people talking about her in the video are individuals that see other celebs in a different light. So when an artist who is so multi-faceted, so focused, and in control of where she wants her career to go, it makes her stand out from the rest. We live in a technological driven world where people seem to have a shortened attention span and are quick to make judgements and such. They don't often take the time (especially in pop music) to actually try to understand the identity of the artist in question.

Watching all the live videos of lady gaga and people trying to find some sort of flaw in her singing and preforming I see how talented she is and I LOVE METAL like korn slipknot metallica pantera etc etc etc... so I'm very unbiuast in regards to pop stars and have a very untainted opinion and view of the pop world and all its music. Watching some of her preformances for live tv at awards and appearances like that . And my god how much practice and rehearsing it must take to memorize all the dance moves NOT only that but being able to actually sing and catch your breath all the while your moving around and being physical like that takes a lot of talent and I'm sure everyones heard her she usually sings every not on key spot on !! So that's just her live performance alone, she does help write her own music but of course there are 10 of 100s of people who are involved for making any of her albums but it goes that way for the pop music genre in the music industry don't think there has been a song where ONLY ONE person wrote it hahahaha but hey that's the way it goes right now . I'm not to sure about her personal life nor do I really care that's her business ya know All I really consider and appreciate is her artistic expression and how much of an individual she is despite obvious trends she does dollow for what ever reason honestly I don't wanna know why some celebrities do what they do either lol I'm sure its really creepy or fucked up who knows. ANYWAY yeah I really gotta give it to Lady gaga being a metal head or what ever you wanna call me means a lot because pop isn't something I'm to keen on but when someone is talented I'm not gonna deny that.
