Oh, this is good. This piece wants orchestra. I agree with the previous comment, the arpeggios in the piano piece seems like an harp imitation, so that's not cheating.
Thank you! I appreciate the comment! Yes! Certainly not trying to “cheat” here haha! I just wanted to flesh this piece out from the original piano version in a way I thought would sound best to me at least! I’m glad you like it!
What an orchestration! I had no idea about this piece and I was inspired to immediately go and have a listen to the original. Wonderful job capturing its spirit. Of course one might say transcribing piano arpeggios onto the harp is "cheating" in a sense... ;) But it's tastefully done and justified.
Thank you! I also didn’t know about the original until we were assigned the project lol Well, our professor didn’t give us any regulations against that so I thought it would be best! Only other way I could imagine would be to have the runs scurry up the woodwinds. It’s tricky cause the notes go so quickly from bass clef to treble. Perfect on piano/ Celeste, but woodwinds have limited ranges. There’s tons of ways to orchestrate a piano piece like this! The harp definitely makes a nice touch though!
