Very nice vid. Following a two year search I bought a '72 SS (4.9 coupe) back in 2002 and restored it over ten years, and sold at auction in 2015. The first owner of my car was "Universal Studios Burbank". I remember twenty+ years ago seeing a Sinatra Ghibli being for sale for a while, and being in pretty rough shape. It was generally thought the ownership provenance did not justify the high cost for that example in the shape it was in (they are super expensive to restore - hand made tubular unibody) but parts were available through MIE. Nice to see it restored. Also, fellow rat-packer Sammy Davis had a fly yellow Ghibli 4.7 with an automatic. Many celebs at that time had Ghibli's, including Peter Sellers, George Harrison, Richard & Karen Carpenter, Henry Ford II, Wilt Chamberlain, Elvis Presley, to name a few.
Ghibli's designer was Giorgetto Giugiaro, for Ghia coachwork; Daytona's designer was Leonardo Fioravanti, for Pininfarina. In any case, two masterpieces.
The personal ride of "The Chairman of the Board." I'm not surprised he drove a classy vehicle like that. The guy was 100% class himself. Excellent presentation as always Colleen. Can you tell us where this was filmed?
Like what you are doing with the way you deliver the information. I am not a big Ferrari fan but have learned a lot from you. I am a subscriber now. You are on to something with your approach.
Great video very well presented with a nice relaxing style,I saw a Ghibli drive slowly past me and the V8 sounds awesome and in the same month I saw a Muira this was back the 70s and to be honest I prefer the Ghibli .
Just a comment on reliability, I have an 1986 Maserati QPIII with the 4.9L V8 and it has been bullet proof. The 4.2, 4.7 and 4.9L motors have always been very reliable and anyone that tells you otherwise hasn't owned them or didn't care for them properly. Maserati won races by finishing! Keep that in mind. Anyone that bashed them inquire which model they owned, and that usually shuts them up pretty quickly. The N/A V8s were very reliable and powerful cars. That's been my experience. The biggest problem I have had is with mechanics.
Nicely done video. I am reminded about these famous collector cars, that you really don't ever own it (if you should be so lucky) but you merely a temporary custodian of it.
Wow, there is a new one in my town in AR. I had no Idea it was called a Ghibli and only figured it it wasn't a Tesla by the trident grill. Reminds me of a long Intrepid! That example is quite nice, great presentation.
RE: Adjustable steering column not available in that period. I had experience with a '67 Plymouth Fury that had wide ranging tilt and telescope adjustment. I think it might have been standard equipment.
The ghiblis engine was larger and heavier than the daytonas.. what made the steering light was the power assistance that the daytona never had but the gtc did. Maseratis were more expensive than ferraris back then for a rzn. They made more luxurious cars that were really made for long distances not race cars on the street. Youll notice these are not small on rail handling sports cars.. these are long low wide track cars that are quite large bc these were made to blast through an open road and not a small tight mountain pass. Handling on these is vague and its either a fast 2 lane road with long sweeping bends or highways. By comparison a daytona is a track refugee forced to live on the street.
Do you mean the 'famous' GT40? Wiki: "infamous" - well known for some bad quality or deed. eg "an infamous war criminal". Although Enzo might have regarded the GT40 as infamous, we look at it as a triumph of Ford money and English expertise.
Wow , 1970 Maserati accelerates like a 2019 Hyundai Gt N line with a 1.6t . I wonder if the quoted 0-60 is partially because of garbage 60s 70s crappy / thin tires from factory and with modern wheels and tires if it would get to 60 closer to 5 seconds . Many big block muscle cars ran 0-60 at a similar quote being so traction limited . 0-60 I under 7 seconds is just on the threshold of feeling powerful and " fast" even if not like a Tesla or something from Sweeden with a Ghost logo on it .
Sorry, Colleen. Although you are an accomplished presenter, I could not look at that auto without reflecting on (and smiling at) the classic Jeremy Clarkson appraisal of the Biturbo (where the awful thing gets smashed to bits at the opening of the show). Nice drone shots of southern Cali.

The mic was tapping on the license plate. If that is what you are reffering to. We have the be careful how we mount our equipment on these cars as we do not want to damage them in any way.
I had one of these and I had the factory option ANSA quad tip exhaust installed and it sounded fantastic! Stock sounds good, too, but the one I had was amazing!
Ferraris Online I'm a glad to hear that. Suction cup mic holders work for record exhaust with damaging the car. Gaffer tape also work with it leaving residue on the paint.
@@bngr_bngr I would never apply gaffers tape to a classic car, painters tape from a high quality brand like Scotch or FrogTape is much safer for the car's finish.
✔️ YOLO NYC by Eric David (watch my channel!) gaffer tape doesn't leave a residue. You must be thinking of duck tape. Painter tape dry if left on to long would never secure a rig with paint tape.
Seriously, I'm with Colleen here. As a true Car Enthusiast I'm pissed off they dared call the modern car the Ghibli at all. The modern cars are merely a pile of shoddy built, terribly assembled Stalantis BS parts.
@@redmr2na have you owned one? Driven one? They’re not shoddy. They’re actually quite attractive, and fast. They sound glorious. A buddy of mine works at a Alfa Maserati dealership. I see, touch, drive these all the time. The QP as well.
@@FerrarisOnline I don’t have feelings. I don’t care what someone else thinks frankly. Just because the original was a badass coupe GT and the new one is a very sexy 4 door, why crap on it? No one buys coupes. In fact now no one buys sedans. Just SUVs. Perhaps I went overboard with the iron comment but….
Holy crap! The history of previous owners of this car is amazing!
If only the cars could talk!
Beautiful car & interesting history! 😍😍 Great review!
Fabulous, Magic Car.
Formerly owned by Sinatra ?
Wow!
Girl keep rocking! Such to rockstar classic car content! Love your vids

My favourite Maserati, irrespective of value I prefer this to a Dayton and think the Ghibli is a better looking car. Enjoyed your review.
Driving it has a very similar feel to the daytona. Glad you enjoyed the review, thanks!
🔱
Frank Sinatra and a vintage Maserati Ghibli. Life doesn't get much better.
Nice to see this classic featured. Fantastic work! 🙌💯
Thanks coleen always nice too listen to you
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video.
It´s the best car in the world..
Love you videos, if looks like the Daytona, beautiful design and the condition of the car is just amazing. Thanks for the video!

I miss my 77. Fiat 124 spider
I had a 1973, a lot of fun

It is currently for sale at Ferrari of Salt Lake City.

Maserati means "large heavy Imoveable piece of art" in Italian...........
More elegant car than a Daytona. I like originality, just can't recreate it.
i guess the car is 'in tune'

“Top speed of 155 miles per hour”.
Joe Walsh’s Maserati is faster.
