I think you meant to say the P111 was created for the American market. The P200, like the Ferrari 208GTB, was created for the Italian market which offered tax breaks for cars under 2 litre engine size. The P111 did have the bigger black rubber bumpers and all the additional smog equipment which robbed horsepower and different carburetors, but still better to own than a P200
The coolest, funkiest looking steering wheel and dash combination of all time! Great looking car too - restrained for a Lambo but beautifully proportioned and in a lovely colour.
Sorry, I don't want to sound arrogant, but there is an error in the video. The Urraco P200 with the 2.000 ccm Version of the V8 was never "built for the USA". In fact it was a special version for the italian market and its tax law. Cars with more than 2.0 liters had to pay a luxury tax in Italy; back in the '70s and '80s. Because of that reason, Maserati developed the 2.0 Merak, and Ferrari developed a 208 with a turbo charged 2.0 instead of the 308/328, and Lotus sold the Esprit 2.0 in Italy instead of the 2.2 version, and even BMW had a special "M3" for the italian market. The Lamborghini Urraco came as a P200 (Italian market), a P250, a P250S, and the P3000 (with a cam chain instead of cam belts). edit: The version especially for the north american market had the internal code Urraco P111.
Lamborghini didn't meet Ferrari at a function, he went to the factory to speak to him but was dismissed in a rather rude fashion, he then went home determined to outdo Ferrari by building his own car, the rest is history! Beautiful, characterful car the Urraco, I'd dearly love one...
always had a soft spot for the Urraco and it's the best looking of all the later cars based on this platform, somehow not as awkward looking as the Ferrari GT4
Probably because you are looking at the US gt4s with the horrible bumpers and ugly side markers. If the Urraco had those it would look just as 'awkward'.
I've heard three different versions of the confrontation between Enzo Ferrari and Ferruccio Lamborghini. They had a very personal and intense dislike for each other. But a lot of people had an intense dislike for Enzo Ferrari. The Urraco sort of was the predecessor for the Silhouette and later the Jalpa. I've been in a Jalpa before and I was surprised how much room it had. I'm 6' 5" and I could fit without any problem. It had a lot more room than a Toyota MR2 or Pontiac Fiero.
I’m so glad that the presenters channel is paying enough so that can buy a new pair of jeans to replace the torn ones she had on the first video I watched reviewing the Pantera
we had this car in our family but it kept breaking down after every drive. if it rained it was back to the shop. loved the look but sold it because couldnt afford keeping it serviced
Slight correction. It doesn't conform to EPA or CARB. It's that, being a 1974, it doesn't *HAVE TO* conform. It's grandfathered out. Also, that reverse lockout mechanism is not unique, lots of cars have that.
Wedgetastic! I think the Urraco's styling was way beyond exceptional. It's too bad the car for the US market was strangled by US emissions, and those ugly-ass 5mph bumpers. Not a good time for any car manufacture. Lamborghini wanted to compete against the Porsche 911, but had a giant oversight in this regard. They failed to secure a dealer network of any size for people to come see, purchase, and maintain the cars. I think back in the day Porsche teamed up with Audi to get their cars into showrooms. And yes, to call it a 2+2 is a stretch, but I really like the idea of some extra space behind the driver and passenger seats. This is space for jackets, purses, gym bags, and other items one tends to carry in their everyday use. As for the engine, it's too bad the Urraco didn't start with the better 3.0L engine, then go up to the 3.5L a few years later. The car is not light, so it really needed that extra displacement. Nevertheless, this is one of my all-time favorite cars. 🙂
@@howardmckenna yes Howard, it said on another review that the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Masarati Merak were all designed to compete with the Porsche 911. The 911 had been a terrific sales success
Often overlooked the Urraco, I think they are cool, but I still prefer the 308GT4 if I'm being honest. But yeah as someone else pointed out, there was the Italian tax law in the 70's for engines over 2000cc, hence the Ferrari 208GT4, and 208 turbo built for the Italian market, I think there was a 206GT as well which had an alloy body....... But your videos are great, well presented and thought out, maybe they did only have the 2000cc Urraco's for the US market, maybe this is what you uncovered in your research.....but the Italian tax law was definitely in effect when the Urraco's were made...
I’ve heard other more lengthy stories outlining how Mr. Lamborghini tried several times to have the Ferrari factory service the transmission without satisfaction. Then when he brought the issue up to Enzo in person at the social affair, Enzo shrugged him off. THAT is what Lamborghini considered the highest of insults prompting him to create his own sports cars.
Please, Urraco refers to the black and white color scheme of some bulls, similar to the one in a magpie (urraca). Not the first video about the Urraco that gets it wrong. The English version of wikipedia is misleading.
You videos are AWESOME!. If you dont mind, because uRRAco has to consecutives Rs should be pronounced like in RAise, RAfting, etc. And the O should be pronounced like A in "all", "fall", etc.
This presenter would possess more gravitas if she would cover her low class, cliche 304 tattoos and lose the teenage goth nail polish. Profound or not, first impressions/aesthetics do matter. BTW...very tasty example of the very cool Urraco.
That's one of the most Gandini-looking Gandini designs of all time.

💯
Right. For USA were some P111 with depolluted 250 engine.
You're right, p200 only for the italian market
The Uracco has always been one of my favorite styled cars. Thanks.
Classic example of competition making better options for the consumer. Wonderful video!
Recently These cars skyrocket in value
Great presentation of this awesome little bull in Tahiti Blue!
Looking stunning in that colour !
my secound most favorite Lamborghini 😍Thank You
This certainly isn't the best looking Lamborghini ever but that color blue and engine sound is something perfect.
This is the car that got me interested in Italian exotic cars.
Lamborghini didn't meet Ferrari at a function, he went to the factory to speak to him but was dismissed in a rather rude fashion, he then went home determined to outdo Ferrari by building his own car, the rest is history! Beautiful, characterful car the Urraco, I'd dearly love one...
Oh, that engine sound!
I had and restored one of these from 1988 to 2001. Fantastic cars
What a SWEET example :) !
Dream girl dream car. Awesome work my lady

Very nice Lamborghini. I have been told by a person that they are a rough ride. Not very comfortable. I like the design of them.
Thank you for the great video. Exquisite car and an exquisite / intelligent woman presenting it.
Love the car, definitely learned from it and you do a great job showcasing it!
Awesome as always!
It sure has similarities with the de Tomaso Pantera.

add a few fly by clips and this video is perfect!!!

very disappointed. the video was too short. could watch this for hours. especially in this color combination. impeccable style and presentation.
Really nice video

I’d drive any Lamborghini.
It would have been nice to have gated gears.
We’ll done video and she is pleasant !
She sounds like she knows her stuff.
D

La Urraco è un auto bellissima CAPOLAVORO di BERTONE....Ciao
The Urracco was designed to complete with the Porsche 911, not Ferrari. That's why it is mid engine, small engine, not a v12. With 2+2 seats
It's a direct competitor to the Ferrari 308gt4.
Mid engined V8 2+2.

I’m in love ❤️
The car is nice too! Haha ;)

The best urraco was the P300
Nice of you to say her videos are great. I agree with you.
Just noticed the prancing Skunk? logo. What's the story behind that?

Oh my that sound
Where's part two? I wanna see/hear it being thrashed a little 😊
That car is 200 years old. Can it even turn?
Urraco ❤
I see the beauty but I see a lot of trouble. In the car too.
"Urraco", not Uracco... 😉
I like it !!!!

don't tell Iain Tyrell
you look like Lita from WWE
The front half is my Fiat X 1/9! 🤣👍
Bertone...
And same designer Gandini
Was this the black car in Rocky 4?
Brings images of the Mangusta or DeTomasso Pantera in design.
It was the Mondial before the Mondial
You videos are AWESOME!.

👍🏽
Yes they are super cool, but I still think the GT4 is a better car, the interior on the GT4 is way cooler, like a lot of cars the colour can make it!!
👀Love your content and presentation 💯%
Hate the tatts on your body 😞!
Less time on background of the car in question, unless you add s subtitle re that. The CAR is the point of interest NOT a history lesson.
I clicked on this to look at the stunning hot girl I like it way better than a de tomisino rip off .
She was the brand I like .
Lamborghini Pantera
looks like farri 308 gtß
308 gt4 and urraco same designer Gandini
You need an eye specialist real fast!
STOP LOSING WEIGHT!!
we all know the story sweetheart, noe you look a bit more Detomaso, yeah

چه اصراری داری پاهاتو باز کنی؟
So we can see the car behind, obviously
Big mistake from lambo!
like the 'shuttle'. was a big mistake from both Russia and the U/S
Why? Enlighten me please!
