The man is the most skilled living practicioner of Jeet Kune Do (Fencing with arms and legs). I have learned more by watching him then all the other "Masters" combined. Actually, almost all of them are fake, bad/sloopy Wing Chun practicioners. This here is the real deal. If you want someone to teach you how to end fights, learn from or simply observe Tommy Carruthers.
Not going to argue about who is best or anything, but have you ever looked at Octavio Quintero? Similarly, I've made a lot of improvements to my own technique simply by watching him. He's my personal favorite to watch and study.
Well, Octavio is a perfect example of what martial art mecca is talking about. Watered down WC. He does things that Bruce left behind. No wonder, he was student of a man who actually trained only 3 times with Bruce. There is a record Bruce used, that has all the data on how many times and who trained with him. Hopefully it will get published one day. Poteet also went very irregular to the LA school classes (where Bruce didn't even held classes, but Inosanto) according to some other first gen students. After Bruce died, many who only shacked his hands became suddenly JKD experts even they were, compared to classical graduation, not even a yellow belt. That's how JKD became a mess over the years and is being practised by the most as something totally different, than the art Bruce actually developed.
If I'm not mistaken, there was a time that Jesse Raymond Clover praised how good Tommy Carruthers was and that he can be next to Bruce Lee when it comes to Jeet Kune Do. I think Tommy Carruthers was also a student of Jesse Raymond Clover.
Exceprional non telegraphic simple direct , fast powerful all the things bruce would have wanted , 99.9% of jkd today is rubbish , intricate trapping that bruce threw away, dont trap hit on vibration, on preparation , on development on completion
...so, in other words, once s person is ' bladed ' or has turned sideways ...... watch out ..... Lol !!!!!! If a person moves in an attacking position, you can EITHER get ready or punch as soon as he moves
Pure non telegraphic explosiveness. You can tell the amount of work he's put in. Great to see
would love to meet this guy, and train with him, ...so fast!
Action is so much faster than reaction.

I believe this guy is the real deal out of everything I've seen.

A Scotsman too! Who'd have thunk it!
Try watching Sifu Octavio Quintero.. Sifu Tommy and Octavio are great JKD instructors..
Tommy's demos make DK Yoo cry.
Great technique...
Son técnicas simples y muy efectivas para una situación de defensa callejera!!!
👍👍👏👏
Muuuuy bueno, que velocidad, es como observar a Bruce Lee, en persona..!!
Awesome!
Respect! This looks a lot like real Bruce Lee style. Legs are very fast.
Amazing stuff, can immediately see it applicable in street defense

Yes, actually he once claimed Tommy surpassed Bruce, that was once when he was in Glasgow, I was there... Also its Glover, just a note...
Glover* not clover lol
bruce died at 32 tommy shouldn't be compared anyway their different people bruce died in his prime when he was exploding in high level we
This guy is very good. Does he have the same power, speed in both arms and legs like Bruce Lee?
you'd have to ask someone who knows both of them very well. that someone has passed away couple of years ago unfortunately.
Yes. Some would say he’s taking jkd even further
thank you very much for sharing!
Very good, great Actor, great person, Larger Martial artist, top show, my Respect for you Always!🙇🏽♂️🤝🏼🤜🏽🤛🏼👌🏽👏🏼👏🏼🥋🥋🥋💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Is that Tommy Gong in the background?
I think so...
Yes.
i can remember that day
I thought Carruthers didn’t use trapping he clearly does in this demo
The truth is, he did use it, but he stopped. Just like Bruce. It doesn't mean, he never used it, or that he cant show it in demos.
Looks like my original video was uploaded here without my permission.
Did you record that video? Can you provide a proof? It isn't at your channel. Cant remember where I got it from any more...
a battle to the death must decide this then, begin...
@@ThomasMarxJKD sounds like the makings of a kumite?
Por algo le dicen "La Bestia" 👏👏👏👏

He is fast but not as fast as Bruce Lee,with all do respect,Bruce Lee is still the fastest.
Geez a break mate...and take a look at all that heavenly glory.
