My wife and I never had children and in hindsight it might be the most selfless decision we ever made. We had no freaking idea the USA would become such a hostile place to raise a family in 1990? I can’t even imagine trying to find a career now that AI is about render millions with no marketable skills. It’s goes much deeper than these Fox News simps reading their scripts of lies. Fox News didn’t even exist when we chose our childless future.
If preventing my unborn children from experiencing pain, racism, sexism, ageism, wage slaving, and the Kardashians, then I'm selfish and proud.

in retrospect, I can say with 100% certainty it is the best decision my husband of nearly 35 years and I ever made too. For SO many reasons. But then, I don't ever feel like I have to justify that to anybody. Ever. It was what was right for us.

The most selfish people are those who have children for religious or political beliefs but are unfit to raise children. They end up traumatizing the children or raising terrible children that cause traumas and/or trouble to others.

Smart girl, I have soo many friends whose sons who have finished school, and never mover out of the house. Their ages range from 32 to 54. Many will secretly tell you that they regret having children.

Next EXCUSE I will destroy - an unborn child is not using anything. The reside in the woman's body through no fault of their own - placed in a position of dependence by the woman and her partner. Now the woman and her partner need to be responsible for the new human being they created.
If you put a newborn in a position of dependence on you and then decide you don't wannna care for them anymore you had better (at a minimum) use your body against your will as long as it takes to hand them over SAFELY to someone else -agree? Same with an unborn child. If you put them in a position of dependence then you better ensure their safety at least as long as it takes to hand them over SAFELY to someone else.

I love it! I'm 59 and I had kids when I was young and they both left home at 18. I've been child-free for 15 years and I love it. If I had to go through it all over again at this age, I just wouldn't. I love my freedom.

Im a progressive with 4 kids (20 to 13). I think no one has a right to tell others to have children. Its a hard time to have kids. Not to mention, do you want people who dont want kids to have kids? I have seen enough abused kids to know this is illogical. These people are idiots
The right wants to force women to go through with pregnancies. Now they want women to have more babies. I wouldn't be surprised if they start telling these white women to make sure they have these babies with white men. I wouldn't put it past them. The US population will change in the next generation. I’m 41. I have three kids. But I didn’t have any kids until I was in my 30s, married, and had a real career so I could provide for my family. The economy has changed. For a lot of people these days even well into their 20s having kids means living in poverty. And then the same people saying you’re selfish for not having kids will be saying your selfish for seeking public assistance. It’s simple really. If you want more people to have kids instead of trying to shame people who don’t have kids how about supporting better wages?

I am 69 and I have never had kids. I knew at a young age after babysitting that I just really did not like them that much. I would have been a shitty mother and I knew it.. My mother even said that I made the right decision, I have seen a lot of the world and was financially ready to retire at 53 in Mexico. I have no regrets. Let us live the life we choose. Not the life you think we should live.

Try being a single parent of a child with profound special needs after other parent and ex-spouse decides to bail on you and your child. I would never have had a child had I known how traumatizing and painful it was. I couldn't fix my son's profound disabilities and its heartbreaking that he'll never have a normal life. He deserves better. I did everything right in pregnancy and it went very wrong. So if you think it is selfish Fox, go shove it!!! It's none of your business if people have children. I'm 42 and child-free for a lot of reasons, most of them selfish. I like sleeping in, spending my money on what I want, going on trips, not having to worry about whether or not the humans I created are good people and they're not getting slaughtered in school/movie theaters/Walmart, etc. It doesn't hurt my feelings that they call me selfish. I think it would be worse to have kids I know I don't want just because that's what society says I should do.

The only way not having children would be selfish is if a woman became pregnant and aborted her unborn baby for no other reason than having said baby would "inconvenience" her and completely alter her life trajectory. (Yes, I'm pro-life except in rare, extreme cases, e.g. a woman experiencing a life-threatening pregnancy)

@michellecd4722 Thank you, that name was chosen because I am finally living my authentic life. I was a child born to someone who had no business being a parent. She is way too self-centered to be a mother and I suffered tremendously in my adolescence and part of my adult life because of it. Her having me got her attention but babies grow up and if you don't see them as people but rather objects you can destroy. I'm very grateful for therapy and this amazing concept called no contact.

What you're saying is that you would be fine with a child being born to someone who already knows they do not have the ability to love said child. That's the kind of mother I have, it's not good being born where you are not wanted. Only by my own will did I even make it to adulthood, nevermind the trauma I experienced being born to someone who only liked me as long as I was incapable of my own thoughts and feelings. The moment I became aware of myself my mother decided I was her enemy and I suffered. Having an abortion is not selfish, it's recognizing your limitations and that is to be respected. I used to believe like you honestly, I used to say women who have abortions are horrible people. I evolved, educated myself and realized though I'm sure it's a very difficult choice for some, if she knows she can't do it, I respect that. Just so it's clear I've never had an abortion, I became pregnant twice during my marriage and gave birth to two beautiful daughters. I just understand it's not my business what others choose to do with their bodies or their lives. Some people clearly are not meant to be parents.

I've been working in the field of children's mental health for over 30 years...many parents suck and are incredibly selfish.
Born in 1953, made decision at 16 that I didn't want to get married. Few years later decided that being a single mom would not be a good thing, for me or child. So no children. For more reasons than low income single parent, but all valid. To this day I am convinced I made the right decision. Fox News needs too butt out of other people's private lives!

I have always failed to see why choosing not to have children is inherently bad, or weird.
It’s actually far more selfish to have children you aren’t able to care for. Always with the ways to control women with the Right. ALWAYS.
A friend of mine recently said that all the reasons for having kids are selfish
