@@TheSubpremeState Who? Jamie? The song was written for his girlfriend at the time (Lisa) His sexuality is his business. Lots of the big artists from the early days in the Chicago house scene were straight. Lots were gay. All were great👍 But Frankie was number 1
Back in the early 80s before the internet this song was so hard to find because it wasn’t that many copy’s made people everywhere was losing their minds trying to find this song it was the shit and still is
In the UK back then, if you could find a copy it was £100+ which is probably £400 now in ‘24 Then bootleg copies brought that down but even those went for £30-40 when a fresh tune would be £10-15
Much love to Frankie and Jamie, from Romania, a country that was still communist back then when this beautiful piece was composed, and I was just 2 years old...
Not sure if its TH-cam or the owner of the video but thank you for allowing me to watch this in the US. Its made my year. Loved the video! Thank you for creating/posting.
Io c'ero e ho vissuto la nascita di house e chill house e prima la dance. I was here in the late seventies, earlier eighties and at the end a the first ninethies, I am proud of my best times. The will never die friends all over the world. From Italy 2020
@Mene Tekel I would argue that times are getting quite simmiliar. And when it comes to music. In 80's they didn't had modern retro-80s synthwave artists who can sometimes be even better. So timewise i think i landed in another music sweet spot.
This was just before my going out partying days this track but caught from 1990 ... yes the atmosphere back then was electric.. people let themselves go.. there'd be nobody just standing there, well not many!if you wasn't busting some shapes you stood out!😂 Good extacy fuelled the partys mind lol. probably 70-80% of the people inside the old clubs and rave party's were eating extacy.. And a truly majority extacy fuelled party is something to behold let me tell ya!! 😂
@Fartuess funny you mentioned Synthwave music, which besides few top artists is quite inbred. And it doesn't really catch the essence of that decade, it focuses only on 80s blockbuster movie atmosphere.
I am like obsessed with this video - It is perfect on so many levels I can't even handle right now - This song has meant so much to me, still means so much to me. Thanks for creating such a great video to go with it...And the sound quality is sick! - One thing and I'm only mentioning this because I'm a total perfectionist, and I can see that you probably are too...[There should be a space after Principle in the song title, before the dash]
What is it with wankers and San Andreas? Great music has always been here. Do you really need a game to get into tunes? Get a life. It’s all out there to be discovered, you may surprise yourself!
Yep I only got into trance and dance from 2004 but went back got all of the dance and trance fairly quickly house was never my fav, but it is the building blocks of dance music, and in any genre u need a game changer, a piece that others will be inspired by this was it, u can hear it's impact on lots of track of late 80's early 90s which was how the next wave of trance and euphoria came which was my favourite and techno but had to be techno with good beats and mix of instruments live vocal or like scooter does
Ricordi... Magnifici ricordo... Notti in discoteca, spensieratezza. Sognavo di diventare una Dj un mix di strumenti musicali incredibili. Notti a Jesolo Lido Venezia
Ron Hardy 1984 music box on Michigan Ave in Chicago. I saw Jamie sing this when I was 13 years old! God blessed me. Spoiled like milk!
One of the best songs ever made along with David Bowie queen and Michael Jackson
The ambience, the neon lights, the city during the night and this theme gives me deep nostalgia of a time that I even didn't live.
Me too
I'm from England and was born in 1999 but this vid makes you feel like you travelled to Chicago in the 80s
One of the *greatest tunes ever created* _huge love and respect from the UK_
My favorite. From the man who created house and possibly the greatest house tune ever
I remember this when it came out. I was a jr in HS and when this drop, we lost our minds. The beginning of House Music was upon us.
Love Live Chicago.
RIP Frankie Knuckles. House music all night long and forever!
The woman singing the backing vocals with Jamie Principle is Adrienne Jette.
I thought he was extremely gay but maybe not

I think the most sensual and stylish disco track ever. Every good club should know and play this.

A song to immerse yourself in the night depth, a rhythm to wander between clubs and an atmosphere to get lost in the city’s lights.

The sound of my youth 🥹💖
bellissima canzone 😊😊😊😊
Sometimes I get so jealous of the people who actually got to enjoy the late 80's and early 90's.
Yeah there were times.. something strong and mysterious, it's because it was new, energy was different, house a little bit tired now, it's natural
Mene Tekel Present!!! Unforgettable

On the original Trax 12" of 1989, there is no mention of Jamie at all - just Frankie !!

I'm sorry about your childhood.

So much better than The Source version. Emotionally stirs your inner most feelings. I have had tears on the dancefloor numerous times to this.
