Me: Mabel needs to get over her compulsive need to drop litter everywhere she goes! The short where she and her family go to the movies is the THIRD TIME we've seen it come back to bite her!
Edit: Also, I would say that D.A.R.E. actually was moderately effective on me. Mostly because my background and prior experiences had made me the kind of person who was (a) pretty unlikely to try using drugs anyway, and (b) willing to listen to its heavy-handed moralizing.
I was accustomed to authority figures being reasonable and genuinely concerned with helping me. In contrast, repeated failures to connect with my classmates had already led me to believe that winning their approval was a lost cause. So I trusted what the videos told me, and became convinced that most other teens and preteens were godless and treacherous drug-users who might attempt to push their deadly vices on me at any time, and who must be refused at all costs and avoided whenever possible.

I remember an anti-drug psa from the 70s, I think with adorable little muppety pills singing "We're not candy." Stuck with me way more than any other. Of course, I remember the 'this is your brain on drugs' one too with the eggs.
