Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games under its Portkey Games label. The game is set in the Wizarding World universe, based on the Harry Potter novels. Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world Western - themed action-adventure video game developed and published byRockstar Games . It was initially released exclusively for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018, and later for Microsoft Windows on November 5, 2019. The game is the third title in the Red Dead series and a prequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption . The action takes place in a fictional version of the West , the Midwest , and the South United States , towards the end of the American frontier, in the year 1899, 12 years before the events of Red Dead Redemption , and follows the story of Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang of outlaws, who, in an attempt to survive in view of the end In the Wild West , he comes into conflict with government forces, rival gangs, and numerous other enemies. Part of the Van der Linde gang is John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption , the game following, in addition to Arthur's story, John's maturation into the serious and responsible person that he is in that game. In addition to John, other members of the gang return in Red Dead Redemption, including Dutch van der Linde, the charismatic leader of the gang, so the stories of the two games are very connected.

Exactly my feeling…Hogwarts Legacy, as usual, with lots of marketing, arrives with lot of promise, but is not a « game changer » as predicted……games likes Rdr2, Cyberpunk or even GTA V (10 years olé!!!) are more impressive compare to HL…

@@sohaibamir4699 you clearly haven't played the game, all the npc faces (especially during cutscenes) are way better than in rdr2 also textures in the open world are better in HL.
I found the lightning to be particularly similar between them both.

Hogwarts Legacy looks so good but one thing that does bug me is how he's walking through trees and bushes, they're just going through his body instead of his body being solid and pushing them out the way like it does in RDR. Idk whether they can patch that because in 2023, it's quite poor not to have those physics. Other than that, the game looks great. But it's those details that make Red Dead so good, they thought of everything

This is a rockstar game, obviously its ganna be more advanced. But gatta give lot of credit to the hogwards developers for doing a fantastic job making the games world look still good and overall great game
If you actually notice the textures in-game, you will see Hogwarts Legacy has far superior texture quality and draw distance than RDR 2. The only thing I wanted in Hogwarts Legacy was weather changes. You hardly notice weather changes unlike in RDR 2. Also, RDR 2 competing with a game made in 2022 tells how much it was ahead of its time.
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are two big offenders in this comparison. Going through the bushes (literally through) and unnaturally fast character movement. Especially at the start of any action performed. 100% speed immediately once the foot raises an inch above the ground.
The frame dipping in hogwarts is a lot more frequent. When you go through doors even the best hardware experience stutters. on the other hand rdr2 experience no issue at all. It is about optimisation and no studio can beat rockstar in AAA titles.

The swimming animation looks very good in Hogwarts Legacy. Comparison of riding should be done
I’d like to think that this first game is just laying the foundation for a series of Hogwarts games that build on the capabilities of the previous game, much like RDR2 built on RDR.

Red Dead wins in realism, taking into account that it takes place in the "real world" and Legacy is a fantasy. But graphically Legacy wins, anyone who has a good GPU and has tested both at most knows this...the texture is better.

Rdr2 feels so real. Unfortunately hogwarts missing so many things. And the lightning issue aren’t the best. I also hate some of the cutscenes

Hogwarts does well in a lot of areas but for a 2023 game. Yeah a bit underwhelming considering rdr2 completely destroyed the open world games with it's lush detail and minor but meaningful details all throughout the game. And this was going on to 5 years already done. It is rockstar 😅 they can't be compared to. Just wait for gta6. We all know it's gonna breakthrough all open world games again

If they did a Red Dead Redemption and Harry Potter crossover and added both maps together long with new locations and interactions it would be pretty cool like a world with gunslingers on horses and wizards/witches flying around on broomsticks and the option to learn magic and sharp shooting
My GF played Hogwarts,I played RDR2...at first she was reticent,but she had to admit RDR2 is superior...not only to this game but to 99% of the games out there😊

RD2 is one of my favorite games an absolute masterpiece.. In terms of open world immersion, map size and story. However though small and more dense map Hogwarts is superior with next gen graphics..trust with a 4090 and RT, next level.

Rdr2 looks stunning. To be honest, there's a whole lot of games that looks better and ran well better than hogwarts legacy. Even mid-high end gpus struggle while in rdr2 my rtx 2070 runs super smooth with no issues at all. With hogwarts legacy's cartoonish graphics, I think at least a gtx 1070 ti would run it perfectly... But instead not. Why is that?

I love both games, but RDR2 overall gameplay and graphic is still leading far ahead.
Gameplay is way better in HL don't even try and argue with me, the gameplay in rdr2 is extremely slow and clunky, also the input delay is annoying af.

@mork6668 physics engine is obviously better in rdr2 because its a rockstar game but gameplay has always been bad in rockstar games and it's no different in rdr2.
@@CITYZEN50 I do get what you mean for slow and chunky. It’s part of their physics for character movement to have weight. It could be annoying at first, but once you’re used to it. You’ll just focus on the gameplay, story and the tiny little details to enhance the quality of life.
