How to Make a Violin Mute from a Dollar Bill

- Here is a rather silly video that shows you how to make a violin (or viola or cello) mute from a dollar bill. Of course, you could also use a twenty, but that might be too expensive.
My assistant in this video is my stepson DJ Jazzy Jack, but he only wanted to do the beginning and then he needed to get back to the club.
Also, I am offering a wonderful prize for the first person to correctly identify the music in this video (not the Sarasate toward the end BTW). The prize will be of the same value as the famous Marvel Comics No-Prize. Good luck!

1:48 🤣🤣🤣 that was clever
I mean many young viewers may not know what he meant though but did.
Every concertmaster and conductor should see this. So much time is lost due to mutes that have suddenly dusappeared.
How to Make a Violin Mute ? flip your bow and play with the wood part , try it .
Yeah, but hopefully a cheap bow, haha 😄
1:46. You'll forget how to tie your shoes.
Me: OMG his shoes are untied!!!!
lmaoooooo amazing
I can't belive it worked! So cool! I hope, how, hope that this will work for my vertical viola because I'm at a loss trying to find a mute. If this doesn't work, I'll have to get one custom made.
thanks for the idea!
in canada our bills are polymer, so I used a small cloth instead and it seemed to work fine
This was nice Love the sound of your violin btw.......
David Frank Thank you. Nicolai Tembovsky 1992
1:48 this made me choke on my own breath at 3:24am lol
Good video mate. Good humour.
hey, that was funny! I subscribed. I look forward to more laughs. :) and thanks 4 the advise!
1:33 Naw mommy would just be like. . . Yo pass dat
Funny stuff thanks man works like a charm
Awesome tip! Now I just need a dollar bill lmao
What kind of violin is that? It sounds amazing!
Omg this worked so well
Thanks so much. Saved my butt
Forget how to tie your shoes. Lmfao.. Ya I can see that happening.
What a difference. Never would've thought.
I like the joke about rolling up the note for a nose straw.
Geez, way to make this sound like the most dangerous thing in the world! 😆 Thanks for the life hack!
Good life hack, but about the dollar bill, where do I get it?im broke
Cool beans my man😁👍
Its a very cool video!
Off to find a £10 note !
So helpful! What is the first piece you played??
Beethoven Emperor Piano Concerto 2nd mvt. It calls for mutes in the strings
@@chuckgviolin3538 Thank you!
Здорова, чувак! Прикольно! С доллара сурдинку? У нас в России тож неплохой вариант есть: трубочки из-под капельницы.)
Oh wow!!!!!!
1:48 OMG
Someone's been "messing around", lol.
1:44 were your shoes untied?
they were
is there anyway I could use a regular piece of paper?
You could, but regular paper is way more rigid than the cotton blend that is money. It would be more difficult to get it through the strings because it doesn't bend as easily.
Chuck G Violin thanks for the help! I really appreciate it
You could try cardboard stock you can get from any hobby store
wow ... this is from four years ago and youre probably not going to see this, but i've found that crumpling up paper many times, over and over again, makes the paper really soft and flexible !
thanks for this i would not need to waste money
Clearly he forgot how to tie his shoes. I suspect that he got caught.
omg thanks
OOOOoo.ooooooo Oooooooo
Dollar bills are made of fabric.
What If I only have 100$ bills?
josh Lawton go buy a real real mute with that 100$
What a flex
Great! Now I know what to do with those leftover foreign currency bills from traveling. Thanks!
Don't do this at the park
A close up shot of the mute would have been helpful. Instead, we got a shoe joke. Fine... lol
