Why is Rick NOT in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame?? He DESERVES it, & meets the criteria..... EVERYONE in the World knows Jessies Girl some 43 years later.... Come on.....
Another suggestion would be with his former band, Zoot, where he was a guitarist and sang back up vocals. They did a couple of covers, one of Eleanor Rigby, and Life in a Northern Town. It was a while ago so would be in black and white.
Now THIS is a Rick Springfield song. Many people talk about Jessi's Girl when they think Rick Springfield, but Rick is so much more than just Jessi's Girl. I loved hearing this song on the radio and I had it on cassette and I would play it in the dark and watch the led lights move with the beat on my boombox.
I STRONGLY suggest My Father's Chair from his 1985 album Tao. It wasn't a single release, but it's really his magnum opus. He gets a standing ovation whenever he plays it live. But keep tissues close by. For rockers, Rock of LIfe, Living in Oz, Venus in Overdrive.
Rick's still recording new music and touring. For his 2010's era, I'd say the song "Our Ship's Sinking" is definitely worth checking out. He was 63 years old when that came out and still sounded great. Looked fit too. I don't know what his workout routines are, but was very impressive for his age.
Same! Right up Galloway Avenue in my town. Also Loverboy and Foreigner and Mötley Crüe blasting in my cousin's Firebird with the T tops open. Good times.
Rick Springfield also came out in one or two episodes of the '70s/'80s TV series The Incredible Hulk. He played some type of martial arts figure. Apparently, he was in a lot of TV shows in those earlier days. I do recall he was on General Hospital the day-time soap opera.
I have seen him in concert over 100 times! He is my favorite performer since 1982! He is amazing!!!! Please listen to any and all of the following songs: I Get Excited Human Touch Love Somebody Rock of Life Who killed Rock and Roll So many more… Love you guys!!!!!!
Such a nice guy. I saw him 11 years ago in Amsterdam. He took the time to talk to his fans and to take selfies with him. Got my cd with autograph and cherish the photo's of us together
Hey guys, more Rick Springfield songs that you should react to include Don't Talk To Strangers, I've Done Everything For You, Love Is Alright Tonight and Bop 'Til You Drop!!
I was SOOOO in crush with Rick Springfield when I was in high school (early 80s). He was on General Hospital every day and of course the videos. (oh my heart) My best friend and I would exchange R.S. song lines to each other. I had every single one of his albums (even his old ones). :) He also made a movie Hard to Hold (not that great). Fun facts: he was in the original Battlestar Galactica premiere and played Ned Nickerson in a Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew episode (1977/1978).
My first concert at 14 was Rick Springfield with Tommy Shaw from Styx opening for him, in 1983 or 1984. Don't Talk to Strangers, Human Touch, What Kind of Fool Am I, Don't Walk Away are all great songs you should check out.
Rick Springfield is an Australian singer who began his career in Australia in the 70's with a band called "Zoot". He is also an actor and was in the soap "General Hospital" for years. His other big hits are "Human Touch", "Alyson" "Don't talk to Strangers", "Rock or Life" and "Celebrate Youth" ❤
Don't talk to Strangers, another great song by Rick Springfield. Human Touch. I like a lot of the songs in his Hard to Hold album because I owned the cassette when it first came out, bought it with my own money and a boombox and I was only 13 years old at the time. I would listen to Rick, The Police, David Bowie, the list is long. You've listened to Love Somebody, which is from the album Hard to Hold and also the movie Hard to Hold. There's a few other songs on there worth listening to like Don't Walk Away... I love the start of that song. The Great Lost art of Communication I believe was the title of another song I liked, Taxi Dancing, Bop til you drop.
Most people in the comments will mention a ton of 80’s songs in his library which I will agree with, but he does have some recent songs that are worth a listen, “Our Ships Sinking”, “I Hate Myself” and “Exit Wounds”, are some of my more recent favorites
Celebrate Youth should be your next Springfield song. Awesome sound and deep meaning. Rock song. If you want something softer and thought provoking try My Father’s Chair. Rock of Life is another rocker!
This was a song along with love somebody that was in the movie hard to hold which was a cheesy but fun movie that was a vehicle to promote Rick Springfield
If you've only done two Rick Springfield songs, you have a loooong way to go to get through his 80s catalog. Hit after hit, especially in the early 80s. There was a time he pretty much dominated radio, in fact. Maybe do "Human Touch" next, that one is a banger and the lyrics were eerily predictive of current times. I think Rick is far more versatile and talented than he gets credit for these days. But, we all loved him then and still do!
There was not a girl in the world that wouldn't go crazy for Rick back in the 80's."Souls" is a great one from this album. The lead guitar is played by Tim Pierce who is a legendary session musician and has played on everything from Bon Jovi's first hit single to the Goo Goo Dolls masterpiece "Iris".
This is from one of his best albums! I got to see him in concert on this tour and Corey Hart was the opener. We were right on the front row and it was one of the best concert experiences of my teen years. Rick Springfield knelt down and squeezed my hand as he was leaving the stage at the end of the show and I thought I would never wash it again 🤣😍 This was a great reaction.
@@yelnek4548 it took me a while to even hear about Sammy as I was from a small Central West Town that was C&W heavy. Heard Ricks version 1st. I was Young and it took a little longer to appreciate Sammy’s. And it’s his Original that gets played
Souls, Alyson, Living In Oz, Motel Eyes, Me And Johnny, My Father’s Chair, State Of The Heart, Walk Like A Man, Written In Rock, Stranger In The House, Love Somebody, all would be excellent choices.
This album is one of 'desert island' discs. A totally brilliant album and I can't choose a bad song from it. Check out the song 'Souls". Rick Springfield is known for his variety of styles from album to album.
Aside from being a singer/ songwriter; he’s also an actor who rose to fame on “General Hospital” & had his own short lived series in the ‘90s called “Human Target” based on the DC comic......

Love Rick Springfield. Don't Talk To Strangers.
Don't Talk to Strangers is sneakily great
Yessss !!!!!
@@gigi-ij1hk Yep! It sneaks up on you and becomes your favorite RS song before you even know what happened.
Just saw Rick last night and he completely rocked it. Awesome show. Hard to believe he'll be 75 next month.
He was the original dreamy doctor [in General Hospital], but we all knew he was all about his music...and it was worth it.
Another good rockin' Rick Springfield song is called "Love Somebody."
They reacted to that already
I loooooove that one.
You cannot go wrong with Rick. Love Somebody.
RICK SPRINGFIELD - " DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS " 🎸🎶 another Rockin' 80s Jam you'll enjoy this one also BACK 🔙 2 the 🎱ties
I'm pretty sure they've already reacted to it. But I'm down to hear it again!
@@CP81 Me too! Of all his great songs, I think that's my absolute favorite.
"Honeymoon in Beirut" Fantastic!!!! ❤❤❤
Ooohh that's a really good one. I love the dynamics on that one. I love the title track, too, Rock of Life. That's just a really great album.
Only in the 80s do you find absolutely blistering guitar solos in a love song.
Cant go wrong with Rick Springfield
You want rockin' Rick? Written in Rock, Celebrate Youth, Human Touch
Yes! I love Human Touch!!!!!
Living in Oz, rock of life is one of my faves.
Why is Rick NOT in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame?? He DESERVES it, & meets the criteria..... EVERYONE in the World knows Jessies Girl some 43 years later.... Come on.....
I think so to, Rick is great.
Toto, Kansas, Boston also NOT but Dolly Parton is. WTH
@@yaimavol Wait, Toto isn't? That's insane.
For some reason Rick can't seem to make the ballot, i believe once he does, he'll get the votes
@@RocketRic14 For some reason Dolly Parton made it, even after she asked not to be nominated and wanted to turn it down
Most underrated from rick Springfield love is alright tonight
That's the first big hit I remember hearing from him, and it's a favorite!
Ooooh. That's one of my faves. Too.
This is as 80's as the 80's will allow. So loved this song.
"Bop til You Drop" catchy with the most 80's elaborate video ❤😊
"Celebrate Youth", a powerful great rock song of Rick with an artistic video
The full package, great singer, guitarist and easy on the eyes.
Another suggestion would be with his former band, Zoot, where he was a guitarist and sang back up vocals. They did a couple of covers, one of Eleanor Rigby, and Life in a Northern Town. It was a while ago so would be in black and white.

I know you all love the saxophone, "don't walk away" is one of my favorites of Rick's. Rick and saxophone what more could you ask for....
He was my childhood heartthrob. I saw him in concert during his Hard to Hold concert. LOVE THE MAN!!
"Human Touch" ❤😊❤
I was a teenager in the 80s. Cruising town listening to Rick. Brought back good memories. Thank you.

"Love Somebody" and "Human Touch" are two that I don't think you've reacted to yet that you'd love.
He was everywhere in the early 80's! I was so lucky to be a teenager when all this great music was on the radio! What a great time for music!
He had so many hits in a short period of time really!

Zoot was late 60s. His first solo album in America came out in 1972.
He also died in the first 5 minutes of the Battlestar Galactica movie pilot..smoked by the Cylons. It was hilarious
Lieutenant Zac.
I saw him in concert in 1983 and he opened with this song. It was incredible and you can imagine the screaming & excitement. Love him 😍
The artist besides Prince that my mother sister has crushes on. He was the main reason to watch General Hospital
I would come down with mysterious illnesses when I knew that Dr.Noah Drake would be appearing on GH
Dance This World Away is a banger with a message.
He's still out there touring in his 70's now
Love Rick Springfield and his music!!❤❤
17 top 40 hits. This guy practically ruled the first half of the '80s.
All right my babies...I was privileged to see Rick Springfield in concert and he was absolutely amazing. This song kicks major can ‼️💯🔥🔥🔥🎸🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Cool song that I'd forgotten all about. Thanks!
This is one of my favorites by Rick.
I feel like this is a love song written to a guitar, especially the second verse.
Don't talk to Strangers, another great song by Rick Springfield.

That whole album is incredible! Souls is another GREAT one!
Probably my most listened vinyl... "Living in Oz"!! Totally amazing! 😍And I am now 55 years old.. Thanks guys! He has so many great songs!!

This is my favorite song from him. Rick and Billy Squire I feel Like are in the same class of music.
Yes, those 2 and Richard Marx.

Great suggestions. Amber would love My Father's Chair.
Rick still tours to this day and he will be 75 years old next month. He's the hottest 75 year old I've ever seen!
Another Aussie artist !! He was a great songwriter & guitar player in the Adelaide band "Zoot". A very talented man with a long career !!
He’s touring with Richard Marks right now. Go see him tour. He gives a good show.
Richard Marx
My mom had the biggest crush on him. My favorite song of his. This song was actually nominated for a Grammy, but lost to Michael Jackson's "Beat It"
I had a huge crush on him when i was like 12 lol. Love his music
This was a song along with love somebody that was in the movie hard to hold which was a cheesy but fun movie that was a vehicle to promote Rick Springfield

Rick had a good guitarist with him too. Tim Pierce played guitar on Michael Jackson's "Black or White" and on 1984's "Runaway" from Bon Jovi.
