Just installed…love them! Highly recommended product! Agreed that getting the plastic/rubber air dams back in was a giant pain in the a$$, but I think it completed the look.
Some may have to remove the skid plate if equipped or if you cannot get the rubber air dam out of the way of the bolts which will double the time of install.
This is a great video, but my 2018’s “rubber” dam was more like steel haha there was no way I could just wiggle it out of the way. Was literally moving the entire truck and they didn’t budge 😂
I have a Ford F150 XL without tow hooks is there a way I can add tow hooks to it? I see the holes I just don’t know how to get my hands up in between that tube to tighten them down.
Super helpful vid! I just installed on my ‘21 XLT. I’d definitely advise using the impact driver. I did mine with just the socket and it’s a hell of a workout. Also, I pulled my hooks right out through the rubber casing, and pushed the new hooks right back through. I never had to remove it at all.
I still don’t quite understand how to use this type of tow hook. Can/should I use shackles with it? Are they only designed to be used with a hook like on a flatbed? Or should I just loop the tow strap through itself onto this type of tow hook?
Thanks for all the great vids! What wheels and tire size are on this truck? Offset and tire size would be great. I really want a flush look and don’t want any poke. This setup looks like it is perfect.
No problem! We were running Ford Performance's 20x8.5" sport wheels which are +44mm offset and the tires are 295/60R20 Nitto Recon Grapplers. With 2" of lift up front these fit without having to do any trimming.
Maybe a video for the ones that have the blocking plates covering the factory holes, not this A,B,C install of hooks that are already there 😎😎 (XL/STX models)
Another case of marketing hype by using the term 'performance' when there are no specs on the load rating and it amounts to fingernail paint on the installed equipment.
These are not performance tow hooks, why People are confused we have no clue. Matbe its the fact its not just sold as a normal ford item but sold under ford performance gives me a hint why people are confused🤔🤣

I painted mine back in 2019 before these were available in red. It really does set off the front of the truck 🙌🏽👍🏽
Waiting on mine to come back red from the shop now. Missed these by a week lol.

This is nothing like you made it out to be…not even close to how hard it is to do this….
My bolt just spins and there is 0 possible way to hold on to the other side.
