Dave, I gotta tell you I married my Filipina 11 years ago and she is beautiful inside and out too . ❤️ I too am blessed We love each other each and every day!
Hi Rob, Just fyi, my girlfriend (yes, it’s an ldr - not ideal) lives in Pasay near MOA. I’m not a mall guy, but it’s a relatively nice area to walk around and has decent food options. I’ll be there again end of month (+ other locations). FWIW, I walked all over the mall for hours last December and only saw a handful of (obvious) westerners. As for the apparent quality of the local women, they seemed about the same as anywhere else in the Philippines (or wherever in the world). Also, I did the Air-Swift flight to El Nido in 2018 which can be relatively pricey, but well worth the time savings (as I recall, it saves you 12+ hours of round-trip bus 🚌 time from Puerto Princesa). I loved exploring the gorgeous Bacuit archipelago by boat 🛥️ west of El Nido. It can get painfully touristy, but it’s a special spot on our world. 🌏
Air swift is a bit pricey but worth it to save the long drive from puerto princessa. Book well in advance. El nido is beautiful. Chrissy is beautiful but it is her poise, temperament, and brains that are most alluring and will endure. Tim
Glad I stumbled on your channel. Aussie been living in the PI for 15 years and blessed to have a lovely partner like yours and even better her family is great and live 1 hour away lol. They have their own businesses and no issues with sponging. Life is great in the Philippines.
Another great video, I love the personal interaction between you two, as well as with your audience. I'm happy to help support you, as well as a few other vloggers too, Reekay. The Pea, and Jonathan with Travel Escapes, just to name a few. There are some that I won't watch, which I won't mention here because they seem to be backstabbers of other vloggers, or just out to knock other people down to try to build themselves up. There's some very good information for both Westerners and Filipinos too, we just have to weed them out. The comments are well worth checking out too. I feel like the good vloggers will save me time, money or grief, and it takes you time and resources, so, yeah, I'll happily chip in. I really appreciate you, so thank you both, I hope to meet you both at some point :-)
OMG, I just love watching you two joking with each other. Thats the goal, every video just have fun, be silly and keep joking with each other. Love you guys!
Rob there is absolutely no reason to purchase a car when you are automatically going to be the one blamed if there is a fender bender. Your tricycle is efficient, inexpensive and much safer than a motorcycle. Warren Buffet was the word's richest man for several years and he drove a fifteen year old car which he purchased used. He just recently upgraded himself to a Cadillac that is nine years old. When it comes to vehicles always be Cheap Charlie unless you are compelled by asset depreciation.
I was living in Thailand, and wanted to get a car, but I was concerned with driving on the other side of the road. I moved to the Philippines, got a car, best money I ever spent. You’re both doing a great job with the videos!!
Love the answers to all the secrets! I think I would miss the pizza a lot since I am currently living fairly close to Chicago. But I wouldn’t miss all of the crime and stresses in these areas.
Rob! I had Domino's Pizza in Angeles City. I purchased BBQ Chicken pizza! It was Amazing! Very close to Home. La Parisienne Mactan in Lapu-Lapu, east of Cebu. Brick oven hand made. The dough was excellent. Very good pizza
Another great video, thank you. Yes spaghetti is at McDonald’s and it has hotdogs in it, no, they don’t have real catch-up there. And yes, the pizza does suck.😂 don’t worry about the haters just keep doing what you’re doing, it’s appreciated.
I'm so glad to hear that you have a good relationship with Chrissys dad and stepmom. I also have a wonderful relationship with my future in-laws. We do help them out, and I would be happy if they could join us and live with us here in the US. As you said the help that they would be around the house is invaluable. Not as servants, but just their way of contributing to the family as a whole. I also can relate to them on a different level since I am closer in age to them. In fact, I am 8 years older than my in-laws. LOL Best of luck on your future nuptials.
It's always a joy to see you two in action, but I didn't really get anything new from this one. As for my secrets about PH.... well, I'm not gonna tell. That's the thing about a secret is you gotta keep it. Maybe once I'm there and all settled in.... maybe. Peace and Love, B Goat
Two good pizzas in iligan City, which isn't so far the panty and avodah both good restaurants the panty has a comfort food restaurant which is mixed style meals , Japanese restaurant and a Italian pizza place all off it its extremely good
Comment two: After traveling Thailand and Cambodia I find "basic living" in BGC better AND cheaper. My nice condo includes all utilities. BUT,.... BGC has many NICE restaurants AND these are wow places to go for..... socializing - - BUT, these places are not cheap lol! 😅😅😅
@FlyMeToThePhilippines I Live in CDO uptown. I have been here fulltime since 2006 but first came in 1961. It would be great to get together. I think I may give you some insights. I lived on a sailboat fulltime for five years and sailed the Philippines extensively. I am married to a Pinay and love your story.
Hello, Chrissy and Rob, you are such a thoughtful couple. Rob, IMHO you are not a cheap Charlie, but a rational man; you have done your costs/benefits analysis. I will certainly include Zamboanga in my first trip to the Philippines, will see if my limited Spanish can help to communicate with the Chavacano speakers there. I have one question about Filipino culture: it is customary for Spanish speaking catholics to have as a first name the name of a saint, I see it with many famous Filipino men, but very few Filipinas on YT, who have more american type first names. Ist it a question of generation, class or trend (TV series influence)? Is Chrissy's secret name Christina?
If you are in Baguio you need to go to the Big Belly restaurant! To me they have the best pizza!!! I maybe a little bias because my wife’s family owns it, but it is really good!!
You are a cheap Charlie. Trikes and bikes are dangerous. Buy a little Toyota. We live in Australia because of my wife’s work. If we did live in the Pines I would buy a 4x4 wagon or Duel cab like a Toyota Hilux or Ford. We have a little Honda scooter which is ok for around the village.
vert expensive, no place to park it, many streets are too narrow. it's exposed to thieves and vandals, Insurance is very expensive. stick to a motorscooter and take it into your house for security
Hey guys...My girlfriend and I will be in CDO 20th to 25th and would like to buy you dinner if we may. We are VERY similar in overall characteristics to you guys. I'm 64 she's 28. I just retired a couple of days ago and have moved to the Philippines. I'd love to hear your input/advice on finances and how best to deal with US to Philippines money transfers etc. and also any guidance on visa issues. Your choice of restaurant, beer and scenery are up to you. My lovely girlfriend/fiancee would also love to speak with your lovely lady.
Filipino retirement plan: have children who will take care of us when we get old. find a good foriegner to marry. the financial outcome is almost always good for the Filipina. these are not stereotypes. they are truths. question: why are there so many overseas Filipino foriegn workers OFWs? answer: the salaries in the Philippines are very low. always remember... MONEY is the common denominator. it takes some expats a little longer to figure it out🤷♂️
The best kept secret for the Philippines is that about 90% of the people will become diabetic before they turn 40 due to all the sugar & white rice they consume. Nobody seems to talk about this glaring trend that's getting worse each year. I can only assume they keep it a secret since it's not something that's positive in their society.
Me thinketh what would the potential., Phillipines Plan B be when and if in the worst case scenario America decided to cut........pension entitlements!@?😉
Wedding wishes

Hi Columbus, thanks for writing that. Very informative post. Totally agree. El Nido is worth a visit and air swift is the way to go.

My biggest secret - *_the Lasagna at Sbarro's_* in IT park - is real NYC lasagna with Ricotta Cheese. Just as good as back in the US.

A Lowcountry boil is spread out over the table on brown paper. Probably about as close as you’ll get.
Thanks for sharing that
I think it doesn't matter what others think about your transportation. All that matters is what you and Chrissy think.
👍

Gossiping is a sin, so it’s good that Chrissy is not a big gossip. Just repent when you do 🙏
❤️👍
Actually... I heard Angel tell Maria that Chrissy, actually, is a big gossip.🤷🏻♂️. But don't tell anyone...🤫
Great pizza at Tartofu Ristorante Makati, Manila, at Greenbelt Mall.
Next time!
Lots of good pizza there. Need to find one run by Italians. Try Toto e Peppino in Alona.

Yes I want a woman like Chrissy! Rob your are a lucky man!
👍
Rob have you considered building a house to eliminate the rent?
Yes, I’ve considered it, but I’d have to buy 5 acres to make sure no one started raising roosters next-door to me
If you are in Baguio you need to go to the Big Belly restaurant! To me they have the best pizza!!! I maybe a little bias because my wife’s family owns it, but it is really good!!

You’re prudent. I need a car for business, and spend a fortune keeping it on the road. Alan P.
👍 Alan
Why are cars so expensive to keep on the road in the Philippines?
Aren't there many children in orphanages that you could adopt? They could make good play mates and given a good home. Have you thought about that?
Goodnight guys. Take care and God bless you 🙏

S&R Pizza is the best I've found widely available in the Philippines. I had high hopes for Yellow Cab, but was really disappointed. Just my opinion.
