@@InDepthSonar Thanks Lawren, pleased to say I got the 3001. It’s great. I was able to go through everything quite easily to check my daughters Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Sxi, which had a weird code 000970 (it’s not an automatic) which the garage could not diagnose or clear. The manual code checker on the 3001 said that P0970 is a generic code “Pressure Control, Solenoid C Control, Circuit Low” which as far as I can tell, only applies to automatic transmissions, nothing to do with the problem of low power/flat spots on acceleration which is what we were getting. However, there were 4 or 5 other codes which the garage cleared after they changed the Camshaft Position Sensor for the second time...so they say. But this code 000970 remained...they couldn’t clear it. I have now cleared it with the 3001 and the car seems to be driving fine. I’m assuming...hoping this was a bogus code thrown up by other problems and, now that it’s cleared, is ok. 3001 great bit of kit for £25. 👍
Great tool ran test and cleared my engine light on mercedes c class in less time than it took to open the packaging , I took it to a garage who couldn’t clear the fault and advise going to specialist, saved me £100’s of pounds .. Excellent value for the price..

Worked well on my 2002 and 2003 camrys, my 2001 f150, and my 2015 altima.
I have watched a few of these and all the cars are good to go. I want to see one with problems.

I tried it on my 2002 Corolla with a check engine light. The scanner reads that there is 1 code, but doesn't display what code it is. When entering "display codes" I get this message like it's incompatible with the car, telling me to make sure ignition is on (which it is), and that the cable is connected (which it also is). I might be misunderstanding something but in my experience it doesn't work as advertised

Can this OBDll check transmission fluid temperature?
Purchased one when the engine management light came on, it quickly found a fault with the ERG valve.

i have same one..i bought mine 4 years ago $18...used it for first yesterday on my broke down altima... it told me what part was bad... it was a cam sensor...after replacing car ran perfect... tool paid for itself big time... i guessed it was fuel pump or a crank sensor,i was wrong
I would not buy any products from Launch Creader. I have a Creader 3001 OBDII reader with a Mini USB port. It works well enough but I went to their site to see what the Mini USB port was for. I found that Launch refuses to acknowledge that this product ever existed, and it's not that old. If you want to buy a product from a company that will completely abandon you as soon as they come up with some shiny new product to show to fresh customers, then buy something from Launch.
I've dealt with companies that have problems with their customer service, but this company seems to believe that customer service that doesn't involve selling you a new product is a waste of time and resources.

Awesome review, But, It would have been waaay better if you had explained what each test was and meant. What was normal and when something was not working correctly and why. A more complete explanation for us that are new to scanners.

Thx for showing the functions? are those DTC codes lookup using the Manufacturer definition or the common defined definition from most models? and is this able to show the freeze frame and pending codes?
Can someone recall if if works on a Subaru Impreza 2018? I tried to look it up but can't find any confirmation. Also, if someone knows where I can look to confirm if it works on my car for future reference I would like to know. Thanks :)
It most likely would because the government requires all cars to be able to talk via obd 2

Won't support most of my 2000 ford Vulcan, in that I mean it reads certain things but won't read or support my O2 sensor readings which cause most problems, it's going back. Going to spend money on a actual pro scanner I can make money with in retirement
This scaner didn work in alk option it didnt check my o2 sesnors its say my wehicle not suport o3 sensors wich is not possible because my car was made in 2008 all german cars have o2 sensors

How would this tool tell you not to buy used car your looking at...what codes would you expect to see?
All codes tell you there is a problem somewhere.
Wonder if this could help pin point issue on my 07 Acura.....shows" Check Charging System"..I suspect the positive battery cable is weak....wonder if this scanner could determine if issue is with battery or battery cables or alternator or some other item in the system?

It doesn't have some car brands. For example you can't use it with Ssang Yong brand cars.

Not sure you'll have to contact the manufacturer. I've used it on 2000 suburbans and a bunch of newer trucks and never had an issue

They both are pretty similar. I'd probably want to get the right one if it was me.

does it work better then 10 dollar blue tooth scanners veepeak and kitbest. I heard the blue tooth scanners do more with apps on andriod. is that true I'm confused. can I have it connected while driving and do it do a drive cycle?
The cheap Bluetooth scanners don't work all that well in my experience. You can do more with them because the apps they work with tend to have more software for graphing etc. You can have this reader connected while you are driving and once you complete a drive cycle it will update the status.

No it cannot. Take a look at the CRP429c

If it has an obdii port you shouldn't have a problem
If it is newer than 1999 it should fit, all trucks/cars are universal after somewhere around that time frame.

I got this device and I plugged it in it says since Dtc,s cleared says all ok, but on This drive cycle says incomplete on Cat, evap,O2s,Egr. does that mean I got to do a drive cycle?
Yes most likely. A drive cycle is not just turning the car off and on. You have to drive over 50mph, then reach a certain coolant temp. Then meet some other criteria. Just google it for your car and it'll make things quicker if you can find it.

Yes it'll change to "ready" one it completed the drive cycle

@@InDepthSonar I did a THIS drive cycle option this morning and all went to ok except for the evap ready. evap ready was the only one said Inc. I got a question so the option this drive cycle is perform for each car trip right. . when I turned off then on car and plugged the 3001 again this drive cycle said inc on some things in this drive cycle.

It doesn't work with Japanese cars like Toyota and with German cars like BMW or VW, just with american cars,, gmc, ford and chevy!

It most certainly works on Toyota. Just used it to clear a evaporation code( crappy gas cap?)...so as others have said, if the vehicle is newer than I believe 1999 then the OBD connections are universal fitting.

@@InDepthSonar I bought it and returned it. The claim that it works with anything is bullshit. It works with my dads Mazda tribute and my wife's Mazda cx9 but not my Nissan 04 maxima.
