I think Mattel said that they took “Freaky just got fabulous!” Off the boxes because some parents thought it was inappropriate or something
Yep, they did and they also took out the freaky flaw due to Clawdeen and Lagoona's flaws being something children could "become self conscious over" (werewolf hairy limbs and fish flaky skin) according to sites such as 1 Million Moms
As much as it makes me want to roll my eyes, I can also see how being careful about these things makes sense. Having the reproduction dolls in stores again isn’t just about releasing something like a collector doll aimed as adult fans, but also about taking a gamble to see if these dolls will catch on again as a popular toy with a new generation of children and possibly expand the fan base into the mainstream again. Basically, it just makes sense to take into account what sorts of things will either alienate or appeal to the wider market of parents who will be vetting and buying these for young kids.

That’s interesting. I think Mattel could have changed the freaky flaw thing into something the characters liked - like Clawdeen is proud of her body fur and Lagoona loves her scales even if they shed. Oh well.
Literally love the new Draculaura face, it the same as the haunt couture one minus the lashes which is what made me get her, I’m glad the new ones got the same sculpt, plus just ordered two Draculauras, now I don’t gotta pay ny apartment prices for her 🤩

The more I see the repros the more I realize they are actually really similar to the original dolls. From what I’ve seen only Draculaura and Clawdeen only look slightly different but Frankie and Lagoona are really close of not the same.
For me, it is too similar. I do not see the innovation. I would have expected 3D eyes and such...
@@norryvampit’s not supposed to an innovation, it’s supposed to be an almost exact replica for the people who weren’t able to get them when they were younger, the entire point is for them to be similar
you honestly might be thinking of ghoulia when you thought drac's earrings were hot pink. ghoulia has very similar earrings.

I have the Draculaura rerelease from 2012. She doesn't have any gel in her bangs and they cover her eyebrows. It makes her look a little more soft and cutesy compared to her other releases. This new doll, I dunno, she looks a little intense. I dunno how I feel about her lips either. I thought I could maybe replace my old doll with a glue free one, but they look a bit too different.
I have all of the Draculaura dolls, including her new rerelease one !! I really love the roundness to her face and they accentuated that with the pouty lips and large eyes it reminds me a lot of her animated series self. Although, in the new dolls her eyeshadow is light now instead of a darker purple/pink, love your videos !!
The quality control is a little bad though if you find a walmart with a not so great batch, most of the ones I found the print on the face was a little splotchy and the lipsticks were fuzzy
I preordered mine yesterday, this will be my first doll. I never bought one as a child, but I loved looking at the artwork of each character and reading their backstories
Def hope I see these in person Drac & Frankie on Walmart now say preorder with an early June expected delivery date but Lagoona is available to get now just not in store only online for me. 🖤🖤🖤

My Draculaura boots were kind of miss printed like that too! The main issue I’m having with these dolls is that their hair gets so messed up and deformed from the elastics in the box
Ikrrr ALSO the misprints on all these dolls are absurd. My haunt couture draculauras lips partially melted onto the plastic covering...
I just splurged and got two repro Frankies (one to keep in box) and a repro Draculaura (I have the original doll out of box so this one will stay in box.)
I also got a really good deal on a Haunte Couture Frankie and Draculaura. I am so excited I’m am READYYYY

Oh I REALLY hope she'll still be available by the time i get my paycheck after midnight! At first I was going to get her Haunt Couture doll, but THIS is SO.MUCH. BETTER!!! 😻😻😻 Better than the original release to be honest. She got her classic look, but the cute face of the Haunt Couture doll.
