I feel like when they were making the dolls, Lagoona was supposed to be a "Surfer girl" type of doll, hence the "brah" statement in the back of the box. But I'm honestly so glad they made her Australian instead.

I wish that they left Lagoona's faceup alone. her original paint has her eyes much bigger which makes her look more like a fish, vs now its more human-like and the faceup is narrower, her eyes are smaller. I'll still get the repro since I couldnt afford the original but its a shame

She’s so cute! I was never into monster high when it originally dropped but I love to watch these sorts of reviews!!! Though from a distance lagoona was always one of my favourites ^,^
I honestly can’t say I’m a big fan of the new face she has,,, I always thought her massive and kinda wonky eyes to be so charming and suited her fish vibe so well!!!!! So not super hyped about that change X(

I found monster high dolls real fast, I decided to go with Lagoona Blue for my first pick as I saw the curls and how frizzy it was comb is out, *Not thinking* and it's ever worse now then it was however, I'm not mad at it, even though she isn't the same as who I was making a reference to back from my childhood, she reminds me of the girl Shaggy *scooby doo* had a crush on in the first live action scooby doo movie.

What happened to her???
As the owner of the orginal I do not get why they got rid of her derpiness (and made her blue streaks more saturated and strtatiegically placed). She had so much charm and now... she looks so ... dumb and artificial (???).
Like, the new doll has such small eyes compared to her entire head. It causes her forehead appear to be too big. The hairstyle ruins the new face-up too, framing it poorly and enlargening the head entirely. And, finally, that blue in her side bang should have been placed in the middle of it (and be less prominent) instead of it being on the bottom. What we got (once again) doesn't frame her face well.
But I am glad to see the new one being available. Basic Lagoona is really rare and expensive today. This one is pretty good for those who cannot purchase the og version)
I agree. I prefer the old monster high faces and hair, they seemed more fitting and had a charm to them. Idk, the current ones are not too different but when i see them side by side, i just love the old ones more. I also liked their duller skintones.
@@aida7759 I agrre. the old ones still retain some sort of charm these reproductions did not manage to replicate. maybe it is nostalgia speaking for me, but the first edition dolls feel more "alive".

Every Lagoona looks slightly different, there are ones with slightly larger "fish-like" eyes. The placement of the blue streaks is also different on every Lagoona xx

I loved og lagoonas eye shape tho.. :( i wish they kept it but made it to where she's looking straight ahead. The big kinda far apart eyes felt more aquatic/reptile looking, which is totally fitting for her imo!
also wtf did they do to neptuna!? she looks so bad now and so does the purse
idk i really enjoyed the original, 2-different directions eyes… i feel like they were intentional and made her look ‘fishier’ and cute in a really unconventional way. all the new releases have pretty similar faces afaik

Ya the old one is more fishy but I do like that they added bigger pegs so they won't break off so easily and good thing that I am good at keep track of the accessories

As long as the diary isn't "shortened" like they used to be in international boxes, I don't mind. Mattel had fixed signature Cleo's screening during the budget rerelease so I think I already know how she'll look. 😄

I was able to get her online from Walmart and am impatiently waiting for her to come tomorrow. I’m definitely going to be hunting all my locations for the other 3 which hopefully I will find!
Best to get them directly at the store instead of online. My Lagoona was shipped in just a brown envelope with no protection. Box crushed and some kind of tape on many different areas of the box like something had been stuck on it and than they tried to pull it off??? Frankie and Draculaura were in a box with complete protection last week. Not sure why Walmart changed?

I always thought with the original lagoona her eyes were made that way to kind of represent fish eyes as the eyes of a fish sit on the sides of the head not the front. Though it did make her look a bit durpy. I always thought that was the reason.

I think her hair is a little more dark on the original because she is more older than the creeproduction, I have a wave 1 lagoona and she is soo new, and she is in a super good condition, and her hair is exactly the same tone to the creeproduction.
I went to 3 Walmarts and didn’t find any of them and then like 3 minutes after I got home my grandma calls me and is like “hey, so I was just at Walmart buying some coffee and I found them” and I was like 😳😊

The new face is so much better. She doesn't look walleyed. 😆 I'm in upstate NY and the Walmart I stopped at today had a whole bunch of all 4 dolls on an end cap in the toy section. It took a while to find it because the area is absolutely littered with Rainbow / Shadow High dolls. I picked up Lagoona, hopefully I can get the others later. I didn't have $100 to blow on dolls lol. I'm just mad at myself for not buying them when they were first out. I'm a bit older than you, so all I had growing up was Barbie because that was mostly all there was. I'm glad kids have a bigger variety of fashion dolls now.

The Laguna I got her paint job was pretty bad but it was the last one so I was like oh well and one of her gills was missing sadly but the differents between the old one and the new one the mold for there body and the eyes and lips they we’re different”
I commented on your other video about 2024 Frankie. I also bought the 2024 Lagoona, I was able to choose between 2 of them at the store, they were so different. The one I have's eyes look somewhere between the 2 reviewed in this video, however the one I passed up at the store had very small eyes. There were some really wonky Frankies and 1 of the Draculaura reboot had huge eyes. So glad I was able to choose rather than buy them online. The face screening is really messed up on some of the 2024 releases. They are releasing the rest in November apparently, I hope Mattel does quality check on the next batch. Also, do all the 2021 creepo releases have saran hair?

yesterday was boen chilling to me , bcuz it was really dark day in malaysian history ...Sino-Malay sectarian violence that took place in Kuala Lumpur (then part of the state of Selangor), Malaysia on that date in 1969.
My favourite character is lagoona BUT when monster high came out 2010 my favourite doll was clawdeen so I don't know if I have to buy my favourite now or follow nostalgia and choose clawdeen (I don't have enough money to buy two dolls)
