  • 500 SUBS SPECIAL!!!!
    In 2016 i had the privilege of playing 9 matches in the top italian league A1 (to replace the absence of one of our strongest team member).
    I played against most of the TOP 10 ranked athletes here in Italy. (some of them are former european or italian champion)
    I lost 3-2 against the, at that time, ranked 7th (best ITA rank: 3, Best ITTF rank: 496). All other 3-0.
    I managed to win one match against a young National player (also substituting the absence of a better team member). Now he is one of the best athletes of our country, i'm not! :D
    I wanna thank my club CUS TORINO and my team mates Romualdo and Damiano for the amazing table tennis experience.

    3:26 that stroke that the man in the blue shirt does is superb. I´ve never seen anyone doing it against anti-blocks but it works so well.

    Ciao Andrea.

    Have been interested to try antispin rubbers, from the looks of it, anti is good for blocking and sometimes chop(maybe depend on the rubber).
    Is there any difference between anti? There's frictionless anti and normal anti? I've been googling and there's not much information about antispin.
    What's the strategy for anti? Englighten me antispin players :D
    P.S: Have no problem to twiddle, played LP/SP/Inverted

    • @AndreaAschi
      @AndreaAschi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi!
      There is a big difference between frictionles and normal anti.
      Both are "defensive/passive" rubbers.
      With normal anti you can play far and close from the table with great control but the spin reversal is weak.
      With frictionless anti you must stay close to the table because it has poor control if you move away, but you can achieve great spin reversal if played correctly.
      The strategy is simple. You have to close the point with your forehand!
      Antispin helps you to create the right ball to smash in the opponent face! 😆

    The new rules banning the speed glue was good for players with Anti or Long Pips. Now the shots are weaker and slower than before. This also helped the sellers to increase their sales, because now if you want to hit harder, you need more expensive surfaces , boosters or very expensive paddles, in the past you just need solvent that was very inexpensive. On top of that banning the speed glue created a tsunami of injuries in offensive players, shoulders, elbows and arms have been forced to the limit trying to hit at similar speed and power than in the past. It's a shame that no federation in the world have raised this concerns to ITTF . Speed glue should be allowed as far as players glue their racket in their home and not in the Gym. I don't think an antispin or long pips players have any chance in high or intermediate level against offensive players with speed glue. ITTF should care about injuries that their policies create among players.

    • @AndreaAschi
      @AndreaAschi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is interesting but I'm pretty sure that ITTF doesn't care about players' health 🙃

      It's about replacing glue with 49 different rubbers at great expence...Yesterday I used ducting tape on a paddle instead of varnish and it feels great but not allowed by BB tta.... Table tennis players are rules obsessed but the rules only serve the marketplace,while the serve on the table has ruined the game.

    What I like about your videos is that you are showing what can be done with anti in real play. I dislike the advertising videos that are staged. It is really your agility and FH that win points. One thing I think is funny is your chopping with frictionless anti. It really isn't that effective because the anti is frictionless and can't change the spin much if at all but it may fool an opponent.
    Your are better than me in almost every way mostly due to your agility. This is an old video. I still want to see you block short. That is one thing I can do that you haven't shown but again, this video is old.
    If I were playing you I would lose but I would score points by serving short to your anti with lots of back spin. You would be forced to hit the ball up to get it over the net. The ball coming to me would have have top spin and not much speed so I would be able to attack it. Your opponents don't seem to have a lot of experience playing against frictionless anti. I also use the alternating push then loop to the anti/long pips players BH technique.
    Also, I thought oppa is a Greek cheer not Italian.
