Thank you so much for the video. We need to avoid using Steam cleaning too. The hot steam is actually doing more harm than good to SPC flooring. It is so serious that some damage that it causes are beyond repair.
I have adore max apex hilltop acorn that has been installed 3 months ago thoughout my home. It is absolutely wonderful. I realize there is a spray and I have some...I also have the Norwex mop for dry mop and for damp mopping .....I also am aware I can mix the correct portion of white vinegar and water to freshen up the floors. My question is can I put like a capful of lysol cleaner or pine oil in a gallon of water and feel comfortable that I am not going to harm or discolor the floor. I have called Mannington and they recommend the spray or white vinegar. Has anyone tried any light mixture of other products and is it okay to use it. I think it is as long as it is a very week solution. These floors are phenomenal and I am soooo very happy with them............just would like to use a fresh smell once and awhile . I totally realize no one can speak for the company ....I just want to know if anyone out there has used a little product to make the house fresh. Thank you all,
Hello. I am working with luxury vinyl flooring that had a muddy flood after installation. It was swept but not washed for months. I think the home builders have let it sit too long. I need to now fix this and mopping is not working. How do you suggest I get these floors back to the original state. The beautiful brown floors seem grey and washed out. Thank you!!
Anything to strong that would be considered "Disinfectant" is usually also too strong to use on LVP and would likely damage the coating applied when it was manufactured. No bleach, no acidic stuff, no vinegar, no steam mops, all that could leave a haze that you cant repair. I learned all this because I am about to buy this thing from Home Depot, Ryobi wet-dry stick mop, Model - PBLSV747K ( ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless Wet/Dry Stick Mop and Vacuum Kit with 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger by RYOBI )
I had my basement finished, and put down Pergo Defense+ LVP flooring, and found a PDF from the manufacturer that has a bunch of do's and dont's for caring of the floors finish. Among the don'ts were , Ammonia, bleach, abrasive mops, vacuums with beater bars, no DIRECT steam mops, (but the steam mops that heat up a microfiber pad indirectly are ok) , Even rubber floor mats, the rubber will react with flooring and leave a mark. Most mats have a backing to avoid that exact issue.
My vinyl plank floors are so dull!..they are very dark and they have very little to no shine. I just had them installed in July. I don't know what to do. I tried the Bruce cleaner, it's very strong as far as smell and it leaves a film. Then I tried vinegar with water and now my floors are much duller. Any advice?

Try a few drops of an essential oil to give you the smell you want.

Please let me know when you find out
Gotta rinse the floors. All these cleaners stay on the floor. They are all selling a product. Just rinse the solution off.
You didn’t mention anything about having a rug pad under rugs.
