Out of all the songs in the series my favorite song is the options menu from spinball. I mean you can’t go wrong with shredding my ears with a cheese grater.

When it comes to frontiers, i really HAVE to talk about kronos island 1st mvt, like, imagine you just got frontiers, after 5 long years of waiting for a sonic game (hopefully a good one), you get through the cyberspace stage and then you're hit with THIS BANGER, it's calm, it's sweet, it's relaxing.
Is it just me or does this song slap??
Chaos island Movement 2 is underrated. Other Movements straight up sound like they could be a Superman Theme lol

Sonic music made me appreciate music as a whole. There are rarely any music tracks from this series I can call bad. In fact, I can’t really think of one while writing this, so that should say something. Great picks, my dude! My favorite track in the series is definitely Planet Wisp Act 1 from Sonic Colors. It’s a mixture of call and upbeat and I smilie every time I hear it.
Sonic music was actually my gateway to first becoming a music nerd and then to making my own. That's one of the reasons why I will always hold it in high regard.
It's hard to choose, but my favourite OST is probably from SA2. I especially love DnB/Rave/Techno Shadow tracks - "Rhythm and Balance", "The Supernatural" and "Supporing Me"

This blue cartoony anthropomorphic anime hedgehog shaped my taste in music and thought I would not notice. And I did notice. And I loved it.

I agree the plane themed Act 1 of Mirage Saloon is not very good overall, little more than a Sky Chase rehash. However, in addition to Knuckles having a separate Act 1 - if you play in Encore mode, all characters including Sonic get a brand new Act 1, much more like a large train or cargo holder, with Wildstyle Pistoolero music. Do you like the Act 1 level from Encore Mode?
You’re forgetting sonic 3D blast both the Saturn and Genesis soundtrack. Genesis had some bangers!

Mirage Saloon has more variations of its theme in Act 1 if you are playing either as Knuckles, or in Encore Mode. Do you like either of those levels (and the music for them)?
The act 1 theme for sonic is just ok, not nearly as good as act 2 but wildstyle pistolero (knuckles ver) is great! As for the levels, the plane one is mediocre, and I wish it devoted more time to the train, and the knuckles stage is pretty well designed!
For me It's like this:
Sonic 1: Starlight.
Sonic 2: The Death Egg robot.
Sonic CD: Stardust Speedway Bad Future JP.
Sonic 3: Ice Cap Act 1 or Hydrocity Act 2 (depending on my mood).
Sonic 3 Prototype: Carnival Night (I actually like it more than the final version).
Sonic and Knuckles: Lava Reef Act 1.
SA1: Open Your Heart as a vocal theme, Speed Highway or Final Egg as a level OST.
SA2: Live and Learn.
Heroes: What I'm Made Of and Final Fortress (The Egg Albatross is pretty underrated too).
06: His World and Dreams of an Absolution.
Riders Zero Gravity: the main menu theme.
Unleashed: Windmill Isle night theme.
Black Knight: With Me.
Sonic 4: Metal Sonic's theme (The rest are really forgettable)
Colors: Planet Wisp act 1 and the final boss theme.
Generations: Stardust Speedway and the modern remixes of the Classic Era acts.
Lost World: Dr. Eggman Showdown.
Mania: Blossom Haze and Hi-Spec Robo Go.
