Got mine on Saturday. Thought about a lot of options, including Motorola Razor 40 Ultra, but they all offer similar experiences, so I thought I'd go off piste. There was a chance I'd be disappointed after 4 years of using the Galaxy Note 9. Not a chance. This phone is so different it's guaranteed to keep you engaged, but more than that it is very capable. Some reviewers expressed concerns about the update schedule, but it recieved at least 1 update a day and is now on Android 14 after 3 days. Crisp display, loud speakers, good battery life. The cameras are not groundbreaking, but they are better than the Note 9. Clearly this phone can't compete with modern flagships, but at half the price (or less if you shop around), it certainly isn't half the phone !

Watched a lot of your smart watch videos cause I couldn’t make up my mind before I found the galaxy watch 6 but without your help it would have maybe taken longer to choose one. It's never mentioned in reviews but the nothing phone (1) will benefit from Nothing OS 2.0. update so for those who have smaller budget it's better to take the first phone which is 300 Euros less.
An enjoyable review. I use the Nothing Phone 1, very happy with it. I would be tempted to play with OS 2.0 but as I run the Niagara launcher not sure I see the point just yet. And I got the push towards Niagara from your review. Cheers
Very tempting but still wondering if that glass back will be protected enough EVEN IF I VERY OBVIOUSLY PUT A CASE ON IT from all the fall damage it'll unfortunately witness.. On a side note it is quite smart how Nothing decided to take advantage of this time frame to be under all the focus and spotlights when the battle of the flip phones will resume at the end of July.
It's gorilla glass 5 so it's pretty strong My phone 1 has got dropped many times on hard surface but nothing happened to the glass except for some dents on the aluminium frame which is understandable

@@saini22505well....There is no pixel which comes around Nothing phone 1 and around Nothing phone 2 comes Pixel 7a, which has a really really good camera but is a *Heater* ...and Samsung doesn't really offer at that range, it's generally too budget friendly or direct flagships

I had doubts and could have played safe, but you need to try to know. If nothing (!) else, I'm sure you'll be impressed with build quality, flagship construction at mid range price.

Nothing managed to do, what all the big players failed to do for years. Innovating in a field, that is ripe with redefined phones. Its hard to tell the latest iphone apart from the one, that released a year before. The nothing phone is unique. Just got mine today and already in love with the software. Close to AOSP, with useful features sprinkled on top. Reminds me of the good old days of OnePlus. The OnePlus 3 to 5 were amazing phones, the merger with oppo and the introduction of coloros to western markets ruined it for me.

important question . in most of the nothing phone 2 third party apps icon are not changing with nothing os black and white color but in your device however all third party apps icon have tuned in with nothing os color . can you please explain how you did it cause most of the third party apps are not merging with nothing os icons
I baught this phone and i got to say i am not disappointed It works super fast (especially after tweaking the animations speed through developer mode), no lags and overall a really well made phone with relatively low price. Highly recommended.
Can we remove those search bar at 0:55 ? also Can we change those network and Bluetooth icon from round to capsules just as other icons are there 1:56 ? they doesn't look good to me
when you first swipe down, the network and bluetooth icons ARE capsules, only when you swipe again do they become circles, on phone (1) you definitely cannot change this but honestly I was in your boat until I tried it and i actually think it looks pretty cool now, easy to tap those big icons and also just don't swipe twice if you want to see capsules

Not worth the price in Canada.. Its cheaper at least in India though seems overpriced even in India. I bought it just coz of the design. I if pixel phones were available in India equilant to prices in Canada I would have gone for that...
Looks very promising but a bit big for pockets. I'll be looking for a new phone in a few months, and size, camera, wireless charging, stock Android and long term updates are all important to me. Current considerations are Pixel 7, Zenfone 10
Between those two I'd say the better phone would be the Zenfone 10 . If long term support is key for you the Pixel will have better OS and security update support (5 years compared to Zenfones 3 years), plus it has a better camera. However the Zenfone is smaller, more powerful and has a better battery life I believe, so really It just depends what you want to prioritise. The Zenfone is more expensive though!
I'm on the same boat! I like the nothing 2 but it's too big (coming from pixel 4a). I have had the pixel 7 and it was uncomfortable to use our handed... heavy and slippery. I'll wait for the pixel 8 or Zenfone 10... The problem? Both will be more expensive than the nothing 😕

@Azu10157 light notifs aren't new though. Flash notifications exist not. Hell, the LG phones used to have colored LEDs for doesn't notifications. I dont want a phone wasting all that energy and space on lights, but that's me.
Can totally dig the lighting effects and transparent chassis, but the OS integration with Android is not that impressive for me. Great review though, great content.
Just got my Phone (2) but when started it just now I cant seem to find the "settings button", coming from apple so im sure that Im missing something. But what? :D
You can put the settings button your home screen. Swipe up your app tray, press and hold the settings button, move it up to reveal the home screen, then place it where you want.
Someone should advise.. if you do have the opportunity to have two phones at the same time, Galaxy S23 and 14pro max or Galaxy A54 and s23U . Which are you going for?
Its very hard to fiind the apps you need to use, with that theme, it takes about 1 hole minute to find a simple app on the main page, because we are used to identify the app by the colors.

It does, but the phone will still be locked, just means you can't track it. Just put A/M on the home screen.
