Sterling's 12 month campaign to make sure Petr Yan fought angry rather than calculated worked a treat.

This was worse than Ferguson-Gaethje imo, because even Tony had like one or two moments (the uppercut that dropped Gaethje). This one KZ had nothing.
I can't imagine finally getting a second title shot after years of coming close and falling short, training your ass off, going to a new camp, feeling like you are carrying your nation on you back...and then finding out that there is an ocean wide gap between you and the champ, to the point where he's taking pity on you mid fight because of how badly he's kicking your ass.
Got to be utterly heartbreaking knowing that not only will he never get another title shot, but that for all his training and years as a veteran, he will never bridge that gap.

These type of fights are like a huge XP boost to these prospects who mostly rely on offense until they go to the top 5 and this will make Khamzat a much better fighter defensively and fight IQ wise.

    1) He's technically suited for 185, Burns is suited for 165

Burns is a monster, and being finished in the Usman fight is all people seem to remember about that. He more than held his own, and knocked the PvP king to the canvas early in the fight. This was a crazy good win for a fighter that is still drawing with crayon.
    C. Aljo had some excellent scouting and coaching for this fight. He played a strategy game that didnt leave big margins for error, but managed to execute it.

New lighting looks great Luke. I scored Khamzat Burns the same as the judges, 1 and 3 to Khamzat and 2 to Burns. I scored Aljo-Yan 48-46 for Aljo, 10-8 in round 2 since Yan pretty much just got punished for more than 60% of the roiund. Gave Aljo the first though even if I'd have given it to Yan it would have ended up a draw (what a disaster that would have been).

I don't understand how Sterling/Yan round 2 or even 3 isn't a 10-8 round. A 10-8 now by definition is simply "Clearly winning a round" while 10-9 is winning a competitive round. It doesn't mean domination or nearly finishing someone. Sterling "clearly" won those rounds and completely shut him out.

Luke is 110% correct on Khamzat's cardio. That was the most visible adrenaline dump in recent memory inside the octagon. His cardio his fine; his nerves and energy need to be properly calibrated.
If he's the fighter we all think he is (and the post-fight interview is a massive indicator of this), this fight was his diploma for a one-night Master's Degree in elite-level MMA. He quite possibly is about to level up 5-10x and that thought is utterly terrifying for anyone in the UFC whose weight is remotely comparable.
