In my opinion this is an overlooked gem. Sissy Spacek and Christopher Walken are fabulous as the quirky parents. This is such a cute movie.
I understand that Rachel Weisz (Evelyn) & Patricia Velasquez (Anck Su Namun) trained & rehearsed in order to be able to do their fight scene without using any stunt doubles.

Happy Birthday Amber! Funny story about these movies.....My daughter was about 5 and my son 3. They watched George Of The Jungle multiple times a day. I didn't mind so much because Brendan Fraser walks around in a loin cloth for most of it. Well one day the movie just disappeared (I'm sure my ex had something to do with it, but he swore he didn't) but in it's case is The Mummy. My kids begged and begged me to let them watch it. Finally I gave in, I figured I'd stop it as soon as they got scared and that would be the end of it. Nope, not my kids, watched it all the way through and asked to watch it again right away!🤦😂
I went to Egypt with my family in 2012. We saw the pyramids and the Sphinx and once i saw them, I understood why it's one of the 7 wonders of the world. It took my breath away 😊
I love that this movie had a married couple who are still totally in love with each other, and even more rare, a great kid character instead of the usual annoying archetypes!
Hooray for the Duran Duran Seven and the Ragged Tiger Tee Shirt! Happy Birthday! And thank you both for watching this one, I'm really enjoying your reactions! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to watching more with you both! All my best to you and yours!
Had the treat of seeing this in theaters as a kid and it was an awesome movie to see on the big screen. I enjoy marvel but I’d take these type of action blockbusters over a super hero movie any day.
Characters like Sokka in Avatar and Jonathan in the Mummy movies are my favorite type of character. They're definitely the comic relief, but they're not incompetent.
I've never thought about Sokka and Jonathan being similar until you mentioned it! Two of my favorite pieces of media, I can't believe I never made that connection ❤
Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman, passed away on July 30th. As a tribute to him I highly recommend reacting to his first film which is now a cult classic, "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", released in 1985. It's also directed by Tim Burton, which is also his first film.
YASSSS PLEASE DO PEE WEE HERMAN… He was a adult but never grew up… he represented all grow ups with their inner child inside… he was that character… he did everything we wish we could do as a adult… be funny spontaneous and just be free…and he Was so I had of his time he made skinny suits with Highwater slacks popular just check out how the kids are dressing today like peewee in the 80s… it. Will also help Jay understand the reference from the movie OVERBOARD with the little boy, who talks like Pee-wee Herman in the movie
It's a shame all the sequels to that movie went straight to video and didn't star the rock, they completely destroyed the timeline for these movies up too.
I was thinking the exact same thing,I left a comment on TH-cam movies for the Adam's family film and people went crazy with the likes and left a ton of comments, the only thing I said was when I saw that film around 10 years old I told my mom I hoped to find that kind of love that they had and it really touched alot of people for some reason, thanks for listening to my pointless story lol

So glad you guys enjoyed this one! It's the perfect example of a sequel where everything is expanded and upgraded from the first one while still bringing back the familiar beats and characters. I grew up during the early 2000s and this was one of the best of that era and I watched this movie on home video repeatedly. This really is the perfect action adventure film plus Rick and Evie flirting while fighting side by side make them one of the best on-screen couples! These films wouldn't work without Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz which is why the third film isn't so good because they recast Evie. With Brendan's comeback right now, we're still holding out hope for a fourth film but bring back Rachel as well.
Yeah I refused to watch the third film lol, I got like the first five minutes in and the way the two of them were and the lack of chemistry I just gave up. I doubt he’d do a fourth film cause of all his back issues and such
@@Catherine.Dorian. The third film had a solid opening but yeah that's it really. The rest was unbearable. If Rachel had returned, I'd still be able to tolerate and watch the film cause tbh her and Brendan's chemistry ARE the real stars. Maria was wooden and boring, very obvious that she was a last minute casting decision. Brendan has said recently that he wants to do a fourth one. As for his back issues, they can find ways to film around him with clever tricks and stunt guys.

I get that marriages can hit those dry spells and it takes work but going from the first two films to seeing them act nearly like strangers making small talk… I just couldn’t stand it
@@Catherine.Dorian. Yes he deserves the world and everything good. That's why the third film should not be canon, imagine going from the first two films to that relationship in the third one. In the second one even after ten years, they were still very much in love. But in the third one, they had to do the dry spell cliche but it doesn't matter cause it was a different Evie anyway. It only they were willing to wait for Rachel to come back but they were so desperate to film and ended up recasting her with the most bland choice possible. And don't get me started on the character of Alex too...
@@navidhudson7065 Yeah ugh Alex! They literally had the perfect kid in the second film, he was a great mix of the two (though I still wonder where the blond hair came from) and then they just ruined it.. then they did worse with the Tom cruise one lol. If you didn't notice when Evelyn fell off the boat , that's what happened to her in the past life as well. Nefertiri inadvertently leaned too far over the edge of the balcony and fell to her death. Despite having perished, Nefertiri's soul was cast adrift into the currents of time to be reborn once fate deemed the time right to revenge herself upon Anck-Su-Namun. This is why Evelyn is a reincarnation.

This is one of a few movies where the sequel is as good as if not better than the first. Amber, if you like Brendan Fraser I think you will love Blast From The Past.
Happy Belated birthday. Great reaction. Personally, I would not even waste your time with Mummy 3. However, the spin-off. The Scorpion King with the Rock isn't half bad. I think you'd actually like it.
Keep up the awesome reactions.
I agree
@5:01 "Red on black, and you're alright, Jack. Red on yellow, and you're a dead fellow."
So cute that you guys love this, based on your intro comments, I am 100% sure you would love love love the Scorpion King! The Rock is so good and everything about it is so fantastically delicious happy late birthday Amber I got you on your day girl but who knows if you saw the hundreds and hundreds of well wishes. Hope you had a good one..✌🌻💚💫
Happy Birthday Amber! Another great reaction ! The Mummy movies are among my favorite movies. :)
I went visiting Egypt in 1997… 15 days from Cairo to the Red Sea… a cruise on the Nile through history visiting all the temples and the cities of ancient Egypt… i’ll never forget it❤❤❤
You MUST go there!!
Fun movie, but Amber you gotta make Jay watch "The Birds" Alfred Hitchcock movies are so awesome🐦🪶😂😅
I agree
MaMa was so invested in this reaction.😊
I went to Egypt with my family in 2012. We saw the pyramids and the Sphinx and once i saw them, I understood why it's one of the 7 wonders of the world. It took my breath away 😊
I love that this movie had a married couple who are still totally in love with each other, and even more rare, a great kid character instead of the usual annoying archetypes!
Oh yay, i was really hopeing you would do the 2nd one❤❤❤❤❤ HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER! You are such a sweet and special lady.
I would like Brendan Fraser any day!! Lol. 😂❤ Happy Birthday, Amber!!
Happy Belated Birthday Amber! Great pick!!! This was one of The Rocks first films!
Happy birthday from Greenland Amber.
Hooray for the Duran Duran Seven and the Ragged Tiger Tee Shirt! Happy Birthday! And thank you both for watching this one, I'm really enjoying your reactions! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to watching more with you both! All my best to you and yours!
So glad you enjoyed this. Especially Amber saying i love how they wrapped this up. Great Mummy joke
Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊 🎂 🥳 🎉
Happy Birthday Ms Amber🎉
Had the treat of seeing this in theaters as a kid and it was an awesome movie to see on the big screen. I enjoy marvel but I’d take these type of action blockbusters over a super hero movie any day.
Eh, I saw both in the theaters and get the same feeling for both marvel as I did these as a kid.
I’ve never been so early for an upload! It’s so dope seeing the mummy trilogy get some love! You guys are great man thank you for your uploads!
Happy (belated) Birthday, Amber!!! God bless you. :)
You have to watch Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992, I think you will like it!
Yessss! I love that movie!
Happy Birthday 🎂🎉🎬📽🎞
Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman, passed away on July 30th. As a tribute to him I highly recommend reacting to his first film which is now a cult classic, "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", released in 1985. It's also directed by Tim Burton, which is also his first film.
Yes and yes to this request!
Thirded!!
One of my Favorite Adventure movies! My parents would play the music when I was late for school😂
Happy birthday Amber! I just woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep, and here you two are with an awesome reaction to keep me company.
I love how the kid is a blend of his parents traits.
I know the rocks appearance wasnt all that but he does have his own movie, The Scorpian king. You should check that out too.
It's a shame all the sequels to that movie went straight to video and didn't star the rock, they completely destroyed the timeline for these movies up too.
This is incredable film. I love this. İmhotep&Scorpion King🎥
This is going to be good , this is a great sequel to the first Mummy
The Fourth Kind ( 2009) is definitely a movie to sit and watch.
There's some real Gomez and Morticia energy going on in this sequel.
@@ericseitzler81 I'm an old-TV show Addams girl, but there's something great about a married couple in love. Unusual to make a successful transition as they have from the first Mummy movie to the second.
@@HuntingViolets yea it reminds me of my mom's parents they were still in love after 40 years together
The Mummy soundtrack is phenomenal love it so mysterious. Takes you back to the Egyptian era. 😎💞💞
@@navidhudson7065 Oh if he’s open to it then I hope he does! That man deserves everything. By opening I meant that scene at the table where she and Brendan seemed like roommates with zero chemistry. I was instantly so bored and it felt so wrong I turned it off.
It was pretty insulting that they waited so long between films then couldn’t wait for her to give birth?
The double decker bus is an icon of London
Glad you guys are loving these movies! The Mummy Trilogy is one of my favorite movie trilogies! You guys have to watch The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor! It was an amazing and awesome continuation to the mummy films, even though I like the first two more.
Na na na na na na
You say it's your Birthday
Na na na na na na
Well it's my Birthday too yea
Na na na na na na
We're gonna have a good time
Happy Birthday Amber from John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Oh yea! My wife, and I too!
I like this one even better than the first! A rare sequel to be sure!
For great Egyptian movies watch , Stargate. Also watch the cartoon The Prince Of Egypt
There's an old saying that goes "it skips a generation"
In most cases and its actually very rare that your sixth of seventh grand children will look and talk exactly like you. Well in this film it's true...
The woman you saw isn't Anck-su-namun but a descendant of hers named Meela Nais how that is possible is unknown
No she is not her descendant she is her reincarnation.
Happy Birth Day, Amber!
How about doing movies starring singers that are also amazing actors??!!
See both sides of them and their talents:
1. CHER= MASK (based on a true story, very touching) Sam Elliot is also in it you loved him in Tombstone
2.BARBRA STREISAND =A STAR IS BORN or THE MIRROR HAS TWO FACES (my favorite)
3. JOHN DENVER = OH GOD!!! (touching and very funny legend George Burns co stars )
Barbara in Yental was great.
YES!!!!! I've been waiting for this one!!!! Happy belated birthday Amber!!!! 🎉❤
My daughters birthday was the 5th! Leo's rock! 😊
Happy birthday
If you didn't notice when Evelyn fell off the boat , that's what happened to her in the past life as well.
Nefertiri inadvertently leaned too far over the edge of the balcony and fell to her death. Despite having perished, Nefertiri's soul was cast adrift into the currents of time to be reborn once fate deemed the time right to revenge herself upon Anck-Su-Namun. This is why Evelyn is a reincarnation.
I love the insult from Rick to Izzy. lol
Izzy: This thing was filled with gas. Not hot air. Gas. I need gas to get this thing off the ground. Where am I gonna get gas from around here? Huh? Bananas? Mangos? What, Tarzan's ass? Well, maybe I could finagle it to take hot air. But do you know how many cubic meters I'd need? It's too big!
Rick: If anybody can fill this thing up with hot air, Izzy... it's you. 😂😂🤣🤣
Once you see the pyramids you doubt everything uve been told about human existance, the sheer size of the pyramids and the size of the stones are unreal. It brings many questions and theorys to your mind, a beautiful yet mysterious place.
Yes! I’ve been waiting for this one! I love you two ❤️❤️❤️ you’re so genuine and I love your reactions
Happy birthday Amber. 🎉🎉🎉
Brendan is in a movie with so many stars in the movie
Crash.
It's a very serious look at our society and how we deal with race at extreme times
John Hannah who plays Jonathan, really shines in an ensemble classic, "Four Weddings and a Funeral". It's a must see.
Loved this movie. So much happening. Glad you got to watch it. Original was great, the sequel was fantastic.
The Rock with Kevin Hart is hilarious!!! "JUMANJI"
You guys should watch The Davinci Code starring Tom Hanks next. Super clever, in the vein of National Treasure but for adults lol.
Love this movie so much. I saw it and planned a trip to go to all those places they went to. It was my dream vacation and I loved every second of it.
Love this movie so much! =) I know there's a third one that was made like 7 years later, but I've never seen it so I cannot say if it's any good or not (really should go watch it at some point). If you would like some more Egyptian-y goodness in movie form, try the movie Stargate ... it's wonderful!! :D Happy Birthday, Amber!
It's ok but lacks the chemistry of the first 2 because Rachel Weiss had just had a baby and didn't want to be that far away on location. The actress that replaced her just doesn't havs the same chemistry with Brendan.
Yeah the third one isn’t that good because of the country they chose. I wish they went with different country like the Mayans or the Aztecs but they they went with a different area.
Happy Birthday Amber! Would love to see your reactions to Three Men and a Baby - and One Fine Day. Both super cute kids movies that I think you'll both love :)
One of my favorite kid movies is Baby’s Day Out. Think of Home Alone but with a toddler. There is a scene in the movie, that starts with a cigarette lighter, that makes me laugh so hard that I literally get light-headed. I’m overdue to rewatch it. I need a good laugh.
Love, love, love this movie guys and gals
Ok now Matrix 3 - The finale is EPIC
Shit was so epic opening night back in 2003
happy birthday
amber
First - 🥳 Happy birthday! 🎉
Second - Now that you've watched the sequel you *gotta* complete the trilogy! ❤
Happy Birthday Mummy!
Amber, what would you say to an Ancient Egyptian Sci-Fi movie? You two should check out Stargate (1994) It's got Kurt Russel and James Spader. I think you guys would love it.
The moment where Rick catches the knife that's thrown at him and throws it back was my favorite action moment when I was a kid.
Loved both reactions! Hope you enjoy #3 although Rachel is not in it but it was still a decent enough story ^^ I hope we get a fourth soon :)
Happy happy belated birthday Amber🎂🎂🎂🎂
