Hey Homie! Not only do you make great videos like this one, but have found them for completely different vehicles we own in the past, all super helpful. Please keep it up!!!
Very helpful, thank you! Note, the vent hose was very loose on my replacement battery, it would have fallen out the minute I hit a bump in the road, so I had to use a bit of electrical tape to secure it.
You need to drive it and test out the start/stop function to see if the check engine light comes back on. The module on top of the main battery won't engage the auxiliary if you just start it up and let it idle. The modules are known to go bad.
I had the same code and read the battery and it was bad. Changed it and the check engine light is still on. That black tube at the end when job the hole in the back of the battery. Love the video. I would of saved lots of time if I would saw these first.
I got a Auxiliary battery that's in the trunk. I also got a AGM battery later on for the main battery and really holds a good charge and every time I check the charge its always near 90-100% charge. I wouldn't go back to using lead acid batteries anymore.@@chevyssboy89
Not liking that stop and start feature. I am keeping my 2012 CHEVY MALIBU and cannot believe i was going to trade it in way back in 2016. So glad i didn't
I have a 2012 Malibu 2lt has 185k miles on it I bought a 2015 Malibu LTZ only 77k miles on it right now then bought a 2016 Malibu 2.0 premier I will say the 2012 has been the best so far the 2015 has had quite a few issues with it 2016 been good so far with on 62k miles on it
Got the same code, replaced main battery twice & auxiliary battery once, replaced the battery current sensor and no go, turns right on with a jumper but by itself it won’t crank, any reason why the battery keeps draining?
I went through two batteries in this vehicle. At the parts store I was told that I need 850 cold cranking amps that battery is a big battery which I am not sure will fit. My question will that larger battery fit?
I have a 2015 malibu sometimes it will crank you can stop and it would cut off at the light and want start back . The radio want cut off and hen you turn the switch it just makes a click
So this same problem happen with me but my small battery positive terminal and ground were loose so I tighten them and cleared the code and was fine for about a month then the check engine light came back with the same code. I'll check to see if they came loose again but if that's not the issue any ideas what I'd be dealing with?
@DaRealMk thanks bro, I ended up replacing both batteries and the fuse box in the end it ended up being the damn secondary battery but atleast I got peace of mind knowing all 3 are new and good
@@Manny-117 I did all 3 on my 2017 Impala LT 2.5L Ecotec and now I'm getting a P0420 code wish me luck lol I'm glad you were able to figure it out though.
Hey, I replaced the aux battery about 2 weeks. The check engine light came back on. Chevy is charging me 130$, if it's coming back on what should I try?
Great video, forgot to connect the hydrogen hose that was connected to the old battery, it connects to the new battery but in the back. Did the customer come back and complain about the light possibly coming back on?

Update...I did the second part about erasing the codes on and it turned off the check engine light. Thank you very much.
U need to check both batteries & upon 4 key cycles you’ll know if it’s fixed
Thanks for your video. I had the same exact problem on my 2014 malibu and a new battery fixed it. Thanks again!

What if both battery checks are good?
Check the fuses then replace the dual battery controller
Looks like a standard lawn tractor battery (they are a bit more CCA, either 275 or 350). Would be tempted to use that.
Too big, it doesn't fit in the hole. I've tried.
Thanks. Great step by step tutorial. I had the same problem.
Thanks for the info it was a lot of help. The battery in the trunk was bad.
Both of my battery’s are good and still have this code
Dual battery control module
Got the same code, replaced main battery twice & auxiliary battery once, replaced the battery current sensor and no go, turns right on with a jumper but by itself it won’t crank, any reason why the battery keeps draining?
iBryan you probably got a parasitic draw on your vehicle.
Homie Hektor what could be an example of it?
iBryan something draining your battery, like a component staying on when it shouldn’t be 👇🏼

Hate that auto stop/ start thing. Just more things to go wrong and break!
Screw that stop/start nonsense. Use manual shift except on the highway.
Appreciate the diagram you showed bro. Never would of know. Thank you
What about that black hose +??
As he says, most of the time a P305F turns out to be bad aux battery in the trunk. So check that first.

Hey Homie Hektor can you post the electrical diagrams in this video or the entire TSB??? The new TSB doesn't seem to have a diagram, thanks.

batteries in the trunk should have an external vent unless they're sealed.
These are AGM batteries.

Any Fix? I replace both battery, clean ground and replace module and light is off, but auto start not working.

Would this cause a car to stall out?
I have more than one code. If I fixed this one code, will the check engine light turn off?
Macho Blood if they’re both caused by the same fault, it won’t come back. Clear the codes and see what happens.👍🏼
