I've been watching some of Korean dramas and movies, and indeed, the portrayal of men is slightly exaggerated. However, this can be observed in all countries. Movies and TV series often present a stereotype: handsome, wealthy, focused on women, successful in his career, and by the end of the film, always perfectly polite and loving. This is to be expected because, realistically, films are products oriented towards the audience. That's why the main character is usually a man, as more women watch these series (In my opinion, I dont know exact statistics). I haven't been in Korea yet, but from watching podcasts, learning materials on TH-cam, and Instagram, 90% of the men seem handsome. Of course, this is a matter of taste. (You are handsome and humble, both, 진짜로!). I wonder more, though, if all Korean men are really as polite, courteous, and humorous in real life as they seem on TH-cam, Instagram etc....
That's right! In any country, dramas and movies always seem to exaggerate things! And as for what you're curious about... as you might have guessed, not all men are like that. There are definitely quite a few who aren't so nice! But I think at least 30-40% of them are polite and courteous. As for being humorous... I'd say that's around 20%.
First of all, congratulations on your podcast! I watch both of you guys , and you're doing a fantastic job🙏 I'm really grateful for your honesty in this episode because so many people take what they see in Korean dramas at face value and end up disappointed. I believe this can affect their perception of reality, leading to unrealistic expectations. This was one of your best podcasts -keep up the good job🎉 화이팅!
Wow... Thank you so much for the high praise!!! I'll keep working hard to create more content like this in the future! And if there's anything you'd like to know, feel free to let me know in the comments anytime!!
