I’ve only just discovered 5 minute Cantonese. Amanda you are the best Cantonese teacher I’ve come across. So clear and concise and I like how you review and build and what we’ve learnt from previous lessons. I like that you included a normal speed conversation in todays lesson (although I’m sure most native speakers speak much faster than that) - more of these every day situation dialogues at this speed would be great!

I’m stuck here in the States but I hope I can improve my Cantonese so the next time I’m in Hong Kong I can order lunch and dinner thanks to your videos!
Last time I was there everyone was confused I didn’t speak any Cantonese or Mandarin...I walked among them but I wasn’t one of them 😂😂😂

Thank you so much for your teaching. I'd like to check with you that at 1.31 the Jyutping for 生炒骨 的 “骨” should be "gwat1" instead of "gwai1". The same mistake is also spotted at 1.41 for 排骨 的 “骨”, its Jyutping should also be "gwat1" but not "gwai1".
Thank you so much, keep up with your good work.

      Sorry about that!
      It's a typo. gwat1 is correct

Amanda, these short videos are brilliant. Thank you so much. I have been here twenty years and have tried all sorts of courses but it is stringing the words together that has been the problem. So now at last I want to go out and try my luck. One small point you have correctly written "bought" but are incorrectly saying "brought". See 06:48 as an example. I am retired now but do some English teaching to primary school children on Saturday mornings and I listen out for these little things. Sorry. Again, wonderful videos. Thank you

This video would be good to listen to multiple times in order to get an ear for spoken Cantonese. At the moment, I only catch certain words or phrases...for instance, I heard ping gwaa and assumed you had bought apples, but it was actually oranges (caang) you had bought. I always have trouble when the speed is normal conversation. This should help towards that. 🙂

I can just about understand most of what Amanda said on .5x speed!

Is pork ribs supposed to be paai2 gwat1 instead of paai2 gwai1? I'm pretty sure I heard the 1st one through out this whole clip.
