This Christmas, Tony Mortimer of East 17 and Waltham Forest Youth Choir cover the classic track ’Stay Another Day’ in support of CALM, a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. Recorded in Walthamstow E17 where it all began! More info: stayanotherday.info
Personally, I'd advise choirs to steer well clear of east 17, after seeing their horrifying "house of love" music video, and all the evil symbolism contained within it.
2024 I’m 45 and still listening. We are from London (my mother from Kensington) and I was working in Covent Garden at 16. Long live the Anglo Saxons 🏴🏴
Love that the Anglo saxons ❤❤❤ my grandmother was born 1902 and Kensington and Chelsea was where my grandmother and mother loved to be ❤❤❤ my family goes back to 1800s london and possibly beyond
Tony is truly talented and so witty that he deserved much more recognition, these messages deserved to be heard around the world in earnest and not as a vulgar commercial product. Tony and Brian had a great artistic fusion, it's a shame they didn't get along because of an ego and communication problem, to be manipulated by the music industry everything fell, that is a pity. Tony has really beautiful and engaging lyrics, he has great fluidity, he's an extraordinary artist, he has real artistic sensitivity. Brian has a wonderful, fluid and dynamic voice, he has great energy. All this mixture makes a beautiful artistic harmony and a beautiful reflection on life! all this potential gone it's really sad
Thanks for sharing that! Thought it was spectacular. I've always loved this track and had liked East 17, yet I knew nothing of the artists themselves, not even their names. Your post has given new meaning to this song which is greatly received.
one remarkable thing about 90s music - comments come from all countries and every language possible. It shows music really meant something back then...

Easy to laugh at now, but back in the early to mid 90s Brian Harvey’s style was on point. Baggy jeans, jumpers, hats, big earrings.
