      @@CatPickStudios I like your channel.....you have a different sense of humour and don't take yourself to seriously...I'm in Chicago - dark side of 50yearsold+ ....it all goes downhill from here ......ha!!........are you in Finland??? Where do you buy your gear?, or typical strings and cords from???........just asking.....here in Chicago I am right down the road from an enormous , and we'll known, music shop - Chicago Music Exchange (or CME for short) ...we have many stores that do resale gear and plenty vintage instrument places... I'v been looking for someone to silently partner up with that would review different pedals and gear(mostly newer stuff) and than to increase your subscribers - have a give away/contest of the gear that you reviewed......but the entrants have to subscribe to you and also , maybe, tell a joke , tell a story of an encounter with any well known musicians or anything that would bring interest into what you are trying to accomplish- which is increasing your subscriber community....I think most of the TH-cam channels are quite boring and really offer nothing to the viewer except 10-20 minutes of information content , and maybe a laugh now and than.....I personally want no recognition just want to help create a format that would generate interest in the internet musician community......I think your personality is strong enough to garner more attention than just a few thousand subs currently....I would take pictures of my gear I want to part with - we can decide what you want to review so your current to the scope of the ongoing, ever-changing community...I would mail the pedals to you at my cost...it wouldn't cost me really anything at all because my wife is a big banker and uses different delivery companies on a daily basis...such as UPS or FedEx to ship all around the world ............I am retired since 2006 - when I was injured in a dangerous accident while at work... it changed my life forever....the challenge I have now is staying active and influential and just plain interested in anything.....I'm pretty much bored all the time...... before you reply - really think about what your plan is for your channel over the course of the next 3 months, 6-12 months........do you have an actual plan or are you just kinda winging it as you go??????.........I'm looking for someone who is serious enough to put out content at least once every 7-10 days for a year straight and gauge where their strengths and weaknesses are and to be honest with one's self.........so think it over ......I have aquired a large amount of gear over the years and I have donated guitars and instruments to local elementary schools to spark interest in the youth of today , who will be the leaders and stars of tomorrow..........thanx for reading this long message - and I hope you have a great weekend!!!!!......but most of all - I want the person I partner up with to be honest and have integrity.....if the pedal sux ....it sux!!!........not to sugar coat anything and I believe the viewers will appreciate the honesty and find a kindred spirit in the presenter.......don't rush to answer me - really think about this....I have an extensive background in music , I also managed large music stores in the mid 80s into the 90's .....so I have a keen awareness to what is popular and also how to build a client base..........I'm retired sine my injury in 2006 , than again in 2009 (a worse injury )....so I have a lot of free time on my hands to do whatever it is I want to....I am married with a 28 yearold son who is a school teacher and an eleven yearold daughter who plays piano and dances competitively ...she is remarkable young lady ......so I'm a proud parent too................... hopefully we can work together in the future.....

    Vlad, thanks very much for your demo of the NUX JTC Pro looper/drum pedal! I appreciate that you demonstrated how frequency compensation can make the drums sound better when routed through the guitar amp. The main difference I heard was boosted treble frequencies, resulting in brighter overall tone; the drums sounded less flat, and the cymbals stood out more. I just received this NUX pedal myself and look forward to working with it. I think it will make practicing a lot more engaging and fun!

  • @kingorbit
    @kingorbit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought this pedal because of the backtrack option. If you are thinking the same then you should know that when you are sending out the signal it does not operate the same as if you are playing along to the drum loop. Although there are several options available , all options will end up with the guitar and drums on the same amp or mix. The most you can accomplish as far as separating the two is that if you send to two sources, one source will be guitar favored over the backing track and the other amp will be the backing track up front. Which means you need to be getting all your effects from something other than your amp unless you want your amp EQ. and reverb also applied to the backing track

      Basically if i understood correctly, this looper pedal is perfect for me, who uses USB audio interface that haves two seperate inputs, with DAW ?
      So my idea will be like this:
      Guitar -> Loop pedal -> USB interface input (2x, drums & guitar seperated) -> DAW (Guitar Rig) -> USB interface output -> Headphones/Speakers
      Am i going somewhere with this? Thanks!

    • @kingorbit
      @kingorbit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lukkio7550 it sounds good to me. But I don't think you will be able to completely separate the drums from guitar. I go into a mixer and one channel is drum only, the other channel is mostly guitar, but there is still drums there. it may be ok though. I have all my guitar effects before the NUX and I am surprised at how good it sounds. This is a really fun pedal.

    • @lukkio7550
      @lukkio7550 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kingorbit How come you cant seperate them? Did you know that there is 3 different output modes? (cant remember if he says that in this video) As my USB interface haves 2 inputs, and i think theyre both mono, but regardless they come in DAW as Right and Left channel and they can be seperated that way in recordings.
      BUT i came to a problem i think. A little thinking made me realize that i need to put the looper pedal also AFTER the DAW, if i really want to play different effects on looping/dubbing... But in that case the drums truely are not seperatable (unless theres some kind of software trick)... Because if the looper is after DAW then i cant play with drums without the drums looping back to the looping pedal. Im so confused, am i making any sense? lol sorry for the TLDR text
      im so excited tho, waiting for the deliver (7 days....)

    • @kingorbit
      @kingorbit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lukkio7550 Correct, there are three output modes , F3 F4 F5 for a total of 7 output options depending on if you are going Mono or stereo or going to a mixer or guitar amp. The guy making this video says he is using an option that allows him to separate guitar for his amp and send drums to his recorder. But I don't think so. The manual only list one possible way to to do that and that is the 'STEREO OUT' option under the F3 mode. The manual he is reading from on his phone does say "F3: Guitar to Amp(LEFT) output / Drums to mixer (RIGHT) output.", however when you turn to the diagram page it clearly shows that for the F3 stereo mode, drums only go to mixer but guitar AND drums go to amp. In real life the guitar is much more pronounced on the guitar channel than the drums, but the drums are still there. This manual is not good , it should be completely rewritten.
      What type of music do you play on your guitar?

    • @lukkio7550
      @lukkio7550 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kingorbit Oh noez! That doesnt sound good. So its not possible to get them fully seperated? Could you use a splitter on stereo, would that seperate them?
      Otherwise i finally figoured out the correct signal plugments for my USB interface, but if thats the case that you cant seperate then it kinda sucks. Gues i could live with that.
      I play rock / pop / whatever sounds good basically to me, haha. What about you? Are you enjoying and using this NUX JTC still?

    This looper has 2 drawbacks. First is lack of stereo input and the second is that you cannot save a loop while it is playing (you have to stop it first). Mono input really annoys me because when I use stereo reverb and delay I cannot put the looper at the end of a chain where it should normally sit. Other than that this is a great device and sound quality of drums is outstanding.

    • @CatPickStudios

    • @fred.chapman
      @fred.chapman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tomasz, the BOSS RC-10R has stereo in/out, but it costs almost twice as much as the NUX JTC Pro. Having to stop playing the loop before saving it might be due to a technical limitation: the loop has to play in real time, so streaming the same data to the signal processor (digital-to-analog converter) for playback while also writing it to flash memory may be too much for the system to handle. Can any looper pedal that you know of save the loop while it's playing? That would be very useful!

    If you run this at the end of a pedalboard, will the gain pedals (or any pedals that are pre-JTC in the chain) affect the drum sounds? Ie; if I turn on my mid-booster/overdrive, like a Tubscreamer or Klon, will it boost the mids on the drum track?

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't notice that happening when I was using the pedal (I don't have it anymore). I'm guessing the drum track runs in parallel meaning the guitar signal stays the same and you just blend in the drums.

    Thanks for the detailed review! Some questions: [1] Does the drum beat also get saved in the wave file if wanted (ie, if the wav file is played on anther deice then the is drum is there)? I have Digitech Jamman Solo XT and it doesn't. [2] If not that, then will it atleast switch to the same drum beat and tempo when I recalled a saved track, even if the drum beat currently is on a differnt beat and tempo? [3] Does it have an SD card for additional storage? Might just sell Jamman and go for this!

      *Yes, I think the NUX JTC Drum & Loop Pro (NDL-5) pedal **_can_** automatically detect the tempo of your recorded loop and set the drum tempo to match.* The user manual doesn't mention this feature, but the NUX JTC Pro is an upgraded version of two simpler NUX looper/drum pedals that _both_ have *automatic tempo detection:* the NUX Loop Core Deluxe and the NUX JTC Drum & Loop (NDL-2) mini pedal. On the two simpler NUX loopers, if you turn on the drums while a loop is playing, it automatically finds the beat, determines the loop tempo, and matches it. Here are links for all three NUX loopers:
