I'm pretty sure it stands for "Oh, my bad", compensating for the lack of band members apologizing for their mistakes/forgetting stuff/not practicing, etc.
From Leo: I like "one man band" . I already have the digitech Trio system with the optional extra switch pedal. It is really has a lot of features available, but that is the problem. By the time I find all the stuff that works and get all the settings figured out, I have lost interest or gone to another song. The JOYO you demonstrated is clearly limited, but it has exactly what you need for fun practice readily and quickly available.
Bit late to the party. My frustrations with this looper sent me to search out this very helpful video. However. I can't get anywhere near the sound your getting with the drums. Yes. I'm only putting it through a preamp and monitor speakers but still, the canned hi hats just dominate the sound. Also trying to get the tempo right is a real PITA.
It clearly stands for ‘Oh My Bdrums!’ Sounded really good, the drum sounds especially trough the interface sounded good enough to my ear. Does it do any other time signatures like 3/4,6/8,12/8, 7/8 5/4? If not, it seems a tad limited
I have just liked and subscribed to your channel because your videos are really good and interesting, your channel has got contents with great quality. I don't usually comment the videos, but yours deserved. Thank you so much.
Great Review on the JOYO OMB Looper I am looking to get one, but will put off untill I have moved from London to Dorset I will check in again after your 40th as that is When I can start the move, Thinking of moving in after dark as I don't want the Neighbours seeing me moving in Amps and Guitar 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
What happens if you're late/early on your initial record? Does it 'gap' the loop and force your recording back onto the downbeat? How does a less-than-perfect loop length behave?
I don't have one, but I'm guessing that the gap is played every time the loop comes round. Like most "cheap" loopers, you have to be on your game, or that flaw comes round and mocks you forever.
@@castleanthrax1833 lol . My playing mocks me , I'm looking at my guitar just sitting there looking back at me , disappointed and disgraced almost ashamed of me , but playing with loops and backing tracks will help improve your playing , better than the tick of a metronome .
On My Buylist. I've been watching for something like this, if it get's the GG seal of approval it's as good as done! Pretty soon my entire rig is going to look like GG equipment, already have the katana as per your videos. keep em coming!
For the price this is going for, I'd go for the NUX Loop Core. Does this Joyo unit have an 'undo' feature? USB download upload? It really needs two buttons and also a 'bank' to save multiple loops. Joyo needs to sort out their website as well. No easy manual downloads for all of their products. Anyway, this looper seems quite over priced for the feature set.
Hey i have a question .. Iv got my 1968 Gibson les Paul going into my JCM 800 going into my Klon Centaur #203 going into my electric mistress going into my Yamaha 1604 mixing console and coming back out and then going into my Fender delux twin reverb going into my phase 90 going into my ibanez multi fx (turned off) going into my collection of boss pedals and then back into the JCM 800. Will this pedal work in my setup? And can I turn off the obnoxious cymbal sound?
TheGuitarGeek it sounds killer. I just got a LP a couple months ago. My first in 19 years since I sold off my black studio. Looks similar to yours, but I have a satin finished 2018. Nice small pedal. Would love to hang with you one day!
I think you need to fill as well as quantitization. And don't you need to send the output of a looper into one amp and the output of your guitar into another? And so you need some switch I think to switch the guitar from the looper into the other amp. Otherwise you're distortion is going to have to be the same on the rhythm and the lead.
Open My Brain. I like it, like you would like a fill switch but impressive. I have an old Vox Lil Looper. I actually put that in my fx loop on my amp (H&K Statesman) just so I can switch preamp gain settings on different parts. So I wonder if that would sound better on this with the drums then via the front input. Thanks Andy
Nice demo. Do you use this through your effects loop or straight into the amp and if you are using a crunchy guitar tone, wouldn’t the drum sound be distorting as well as the guitar. Thanks.
I'm using that Looper 🙄 and it's really nice and I like that it counts if you use the drums... But after such a long time I got soo tired of this midi sound. But except those with a build in EQ, which is more like cheating... Good drum comps are so incredibly expensive 😭🥺
These pedals are comparatively cheap in Australia. Yeah I wish the drums were a little more hardcore for metal, or you could change the tempo with a knob.
Can i run the O.M.B thru my Katana 100,like i did with a RC-1 looper pedal, just hook them up togeather/,because right now i cant do much with it,was thinking about trying to sell it,but would really like to get it working right,Thanks for any advice,Regards.
I want one! Your latin ad lib reminded me of The Cardigans Life album. p.s. Switchy knob = Rotary switch :) :) And OMB can only be what you say whenever you make a mistake in a comical loud american voice. "OH. MY BAD!".
Obstinate Machine Belligerence ?? I would hope it behaves , but we all know how things really work (or choose not to) . Yeah a deluxe version of this , possibly with USB to load loops on and off . In a perfect world there'd be 2-4 user slots for beats on the deluxe . I suppose at that point though you might was well spring for a sampler/groovebox . Really this thing is pretty cool especially for the price .
I'm trying to use mine and after I got a nice loop going, I tried to use distortion and it distorted the sound of the loop and the drums. How can I create a loop and then use distortion without distorting the loop itself? I noticed you used distortion in your video and it didn't distort or affect the loop you created.
Hey! Put the distortion before the looper. So - guitar into distortion looper. Record the loop with the distortion off and then turn on the distortion after the loop is recorded. Hope that helps

I might have missed it, but how do you adjust the tempo? Also, is there a tap mode for the drums?
Andy, you were a smooth criminal on that latin groove. Well done!

Of course. its only 4/4 but they could bring out a whole collection of time sigs.
Given it's function mayhap OMB could also be Once More Boys (or to be pc B could be Box or Band/mates)
I have just liked and subscribed to your channel because your videos are really good and interesting, your channel has got contents with great quality. I don't usually comment the videos, but yours deserved. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the demo. I've been eyeballing this since it was announced.

Original Melodious Brit (the host). Great video ! Clearly an honest assessment.

Can it do a 3/4 time. Or 6/8

It is more the guitar speaker that limits the sound in my case. It benefits from being full range
Absolutely wonderful
Nice demo. Do you use this through your effects loop or straight into the amp and if you are using a crunchy guitar tone, wouldn’t the drum sound be distorting as well as the guitar. Thanks.
Exactly. A looper pedal should be used in the effects loop for that very reason.

How many loops can be stored in the pedal?
How long is each loop?
Thank you.
Thanks for a great video!! Very useful drum looper. How do you compare this one with the Digitech Sdrum?
You’re welcome. The sdrum is totally different . This pedal is a looper and the sdrum is not. The sdrum drums Sound much better IMO
Enjoyed the review. Looks like a decent pedal.
Over My Budget.
hahaha. not TOO expensive
Is there an on/off button or does it just power on when it is plugged in
All the drums please!
Gladly!
How many different tempos does it have?
How does this compare to the Nux Loop Core Pro ? - Digitech Trio + ? or the Boss RC-3 ?
Or beat buddy
One more beer! Cheers!
wahey!!
I like the product but how much is it even on the Joyo site it doesn't have the price of anything
Not sure if I get those knobs. How exactly do you change the tempo? Or is tempo changing too advanced feature for this device???
Using the tap tempo button

does it do 3/4 time? Or any alternate time signatures? Or is it all 4/4?
Perfect for busking.
Did I miss the looping capabilities??? Can this replace a jam man or is this more to replace a digitech solo pedal?
I used it as a looper throughout the video. It’s not as fully featured as a JM solo
Can I upload drum patches? I need 5/8, 7/8 etc. Tks
sadly not
