Michael Francis "Mick" Foley, Sr. is an American actor, author, comedian, voice actor, and retired professional wrestler currently signed to WWE under a Legends contract. Most recently he appeared as the general manager of Raw. In addition, he also makes regular appearances on the independent circuit. He is often referred to as "The Hardcore Legend", a nickname he shares with Terry Funk.
Throughout his wrestling career, Foley has wrestled both under his real name and under various personas (most notably Cactus Jack, Mankind and Dude Love). He was the first ever WWF Hardcore Champion and also a three-time WWF Champion as Mankind. He has also won the WWF World tag team title eight times, the ECW World tag team title two times, and the WCW World tag team title once. Following his retirement from a full-time wrestling schedule, Foley appeared occasionally with WWE as a special guest referee and, later, a color commentator for the SmackDown brand. Upon his departure from the company in 2008, he signed with TNA, where he was the storyline majority stockholder of the company. There, Foley has held the TNA World heavyweight title and the TNA Legends (now known as Television) Championship.
In addition to wrestling, Foley is a multiple-time New York Times bestselling autobiographer. He was also a subject of the documentary Beyond the Mat, which followed him at the peak of his career. More recently, he has signed on for Bloodstained Memoirs, another wrestling documentary.
Foley officially retired full-time from in-ring competition in August 2013.
    WWF Championship (3 times)

WWF World Tag Team Championship (8 times)

Met Foley few years ago just before he started doing DDPY. Saw him from behind from about a block away and recognized him from his walk/waddle, he had the walk of a man who had survived too many impossible things. He was probably the only famous person I've met that I felt nervous/intimidated about, fortunately he was extremely nice and helpful when I talked to him.

So true about Mick being deceptively big. I met him while he was on tour shortly before the pandemic and he is a huge, huge man. I’m 6’1, 205, and I felt tiny compared to Mick. Maybe he didn’t have the kind of physique that a lot of wrestlers have and you’d never mistake him for a strongman but he has huge hands and you can feel the strength he has when he shakes your hand. Steve Austin once told Mick Foley on his podcast he was the toughest man he ever got in the ring with. He seems like the most genuine guy, and his recall is so amazing. Cactus Jack in WCW was great, Jack in WCW would cut the most spine tingling promos. The early Mankind in his wars with Undertaker, the wrestling clinic with HBK at In Your House: Mind Games, and one of my favorite ever cage matches was Mankind vs Rocky vs Ken Shamrock. And then of course his championship runs soon there after, and Cactus Jack vs HHH in Hell in a Cell. A huge part of my childhood. I would love to meet him one day.

I don’t know of any other wrestler that has put their body through more abuse. The pain this man must deal with everyday because of his love for his fans and for wrestling is unbelievable. That Raw when he went through the top of the cage to the ring unplanned, losing teeth concussed, getting carted away, getting off cart to go back and finish the match is the greatest moment in WWE/WWF.
Edit: I am incorrect, this took place at King of the Ring June 28, 1998.

The fact this man is still standing is incredible. I remember watching the hell in a cell match with him and Undertaker. When he was thrown off the cell I thought it was over. Only to see him get back up for more made my jaw drop. Then seeing the cage break and him falling through it made my jaw drop more. I honestly couldn't wrap my head around it, hell it's been over twenty years now. Yet I still don't want to even fathom the amount of pain he was in. Thank you Mick for making my childhood awesome and please don't do anything crazy. Rest and relax, if anyone has earned it. You're at the top of the list.

    Short story about Mick.
My parents met him randomly in Indiana at a theme park after he got off a roller coaster. Lots of people were asking for pictures and autographs to which he obliged.
My dad asked him if he would talk to his son (me) on the phone since I was such a fan of his.
We talked about Orton tossing him down a flight of stairs (his last tv appearance at the time circa 2003 (ish) & if he would ever return to wrestling. He said he didn’t know and that he was pretty beat up.
He talked to me very patiently and long enough to where I actually ended the phone call because I knew he was being hounded by fans and didn’t want to bother him.
But he never made me feel rushed and he seemed to really appreciate the love from everyone.
Such a good dude. Thank you Mick.
P.s. My dad though his name was “Nick” Foley and even asked him if that’s who he was 😂

What a legend. I've met a few wrestlers before, the undertaker, the Hart brothers, the brood, tug boat, iron sheik and so on. Of all of them, Foley was not only the nicest, but the most humble, most engaging, and the most respected by the other wrestlers at the events where I met them. I remember Grendel, from the Brood with edge and Christian, said mick was the best thing ever to happen in recent years, and that was right at the beginning of what would become the attitude era. Mid to late nineties. Such a cool guy to work the ropes, and the most dedicated and selfless individual talents to ever grace the squared circle.

Mick has broken himself multiple times threw out his career for our entertainment, including that infamous hell in a cell match where he dislocated his shoulder, sent a tooth into his nose, busting his lip in two, getting spiked by hundreds of thumb tacks, as well as injuries just from wrestling in that cell, and STILL was able to walk and wrestle shortly after!

I swore back in the 90's and especially after Hell In The Cell that Mick wouldn't make it to an old age, he would be wheelchair bound and racked with pain but holy shit he is lucky. He's shrunk in height for sure but all in all getting around and that's more than I would have ever guessed. One of the nicest guys in Pro Wrestling..."too nice to be in this business" per Cornette.
