That's like when people ask if Ronnie Coleman had any regrets in his career, and he says his regret was not going for a third rep on the 800 lbs squat. These guys, man. These types of guys are a unique breed, be they strongmen, bodybuilders, powerlifters, whatever.
He's talking about the ability to access 100% of his power and adrenaline. He was able to perfectly induce his fight or flight reflex like the hypno therapist wanted him to. So destroying his brain through focus and brain power was already going to happen. He's saying that with that focus and adrenaline he could have pulled more.
I believe him, but there's a difference between what you do in the moment and the windfall later on. If he had lifted more, he might have died or suffered permanent damage.

Strength of a father's love sounds like it was at the core of this to me. He imagined pulling someone off his kids in a life or death situation that doesn't bear thinking about. That love moved mountains and allowed him to connect to something far greater than everyday strength.
The way you describe can only make me react like “holy shit!” but I imagine I cant comprehend what your headspace was like during this unmatchable feat of strength.

@@therealseventh We were hauling a log out of the woods for firewood. Probably a 6 or 8 foot log attached by chain to the tractor, and that's what caused it to flip. The log caught on a still standing tree and caused the tractor to flip backwards on top of him. It hit his head, a few cuts here and there, and I remember his face being swelled up and bruised for a few days, but considering how it could have went down, he was fine.

It's what happens when you deadlift what the body can barely handle, seeing as the brain controls the body and the central nervous system. I truly hope that Eddie understands how much of a living legend he is, I'm 16 and can already say that this man's legacy is a huge part of my childhood.
Personally, I’m glad Eddie retired when he did. I honestly believe he could lift more. However, I don’t know if you’d make it out alive again.. You’re a strong man with a strong will, but unfortunately our bodies can only handle so much before they give in. Eddie pushed the boundary here and has done something I don’t think will ever be done again. What a fucking legend.
Im no creep or a psycho. But just generally speaking and thinking. The sensitivity of him saying that it is disgusting, I believe he imagined someone was god forsake it "raping" his children or something like that, or tryin to kill them. Yet I agree with him, I would've lifted the world if anything would've happened or touched my children. So I believe thats what he meant yet he was just disgusted and frightened to mention such a thing or speak of it out to the universe. A well respected man imo, the notorious, the legend, and the almighty Beast Hall. I just love em.
@@ottosmiddletoe387 that is also triggering. But if I was to think of it logically from my stand point. It wouldve meant even more for him to get angrier per say.

Thank you for what you have accomplished may your family and yourself be blessed now and in the future.

You are a true inspiration.
It's insane to think how much dedication and singlemindedness this kind of a feat takes. The places you have to make your mind go. You can see it in his face, you have to make your self BELIEVE that you are in a situation where you HAVE TO pull that weight off the ground or die trying. The amount of adrenaline and the amount of strain it takes to push your self so unbelievably beyond your limits and even the limits of what humans are supposed to be capable of. Its no wonder he almost destroyed himself doing it, his body was probably screaming and tearing apart. Just unbelievable, amazing achievement.
In the military, I've watched a triathlete cross the line, a good margin ahead of 2nd place, with blood streaming from his nose from absolute effort. Anybody that bursts blood vessels in pursuit of their goals deserves absolute respect, regardless of their level of ability.

@@horseliver338 I believe Murph is referring to the disturbing scenario Eddie imagined before lifting the weight. The one where he said he cant say it out loud because that's how insane it was. Even if his mind went blank while lifting, that scenario was definitely working on a subconscious level.
