I like a lot of what you say, but think your missing allot of the typology and symbolisms. These verses apply in all time. From the Genesis Noah's arc became the ship that carried God's people safely to dry land God made the Ark a symbol of the the Church . The Ark also carried the Manna Aaron's staff and Commandments to the Promised Land. Jesus preached fron Peter's fishing boat, since early times calle the bark of Peter. Paul's Shipwreck this Ark was completely destroyed but everyone made it safely to shore. We are to learn from what Paul said “Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.” Jesus entire prayer in John chapter 17 was about unity so we may all be saved.
When Paul encourages them to eat food Luke wrote the same blessing Jesus said at the Last Supper: These are the Thanksgiving words we use to receive communion. John 6:50 this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.
