You are welcome, check out also the other videos about STL in the playlist. They were inspired by comments both on my videos and in my presentations th-cam.com/play/PLdfEJ9NcD36TGUlGpZh8KHKjJRnK_sZ9k.html
That's a good feature to know about. I would love to see this applied to a more complicated model, maybe something randomly grabbed off one of the maker websites. A sphere seems like it would be the best/simplest case.
Hi Brandon, I have done videos with more complex models. You can find them in this playlist Modeling with Design Intent: th-cam.com/play/PLdfEJ9NcD36SCU3aR6ZDiNDcDszGUjG98.html
Last time when I was checking it there was not (this was few months ago). But all apps on 3DEXPERIENCE are evolving quite fast. I expect even better than this functionality to appear at some point as different app.
Hi thanks for the video, could you please make another one with a more complex figure? I would like to model in zbrush and import to solidworks, but the thing is I would love clean meshes .. and zbrush meshes are very complex and noisy..😅
Just for cleaning up the mesh you can check this video th-cam.com/video/exvdsAwsBFc/w-d-xo.html But also I'm finishing another for ScanTo3D for more complex model which will be published on Tuesday. Later I'll do few mores for different scenarios, you can activate notifications if you don't want to miss any.
Sorry but i not have "Scan To 3D Mesh Files........" but only "Mesh Files...." Why this? I have solidworks 2022 sp5, and have activated ScanTo3D, i not understand, u can help me?
Which SOLIDWORKS you have as package Standard, Professional or Premium? ScanTo3D is not available in Standard. If you have the one of other two and still cannot see the correct import option after following all the steps in the video, probably it is a bug and I cannot help, you'll need the support for that.
ooppps sorry.. i have premium version and I noticed that the function is listed with a different name than the one you show in your video, mine is "File mesh ScanTo3D"I realized this late, sorry and thanks for the video
@@DWorkshop Ok with a regular surface such as a sphere is fine, but on irregular objects such as statues, masks, vases, car or motorcycle models, and similar how do you proceed? I tried with stl files of masks but I couldn't transform them in the right way. Is it possible with such objects? Would that be an idea for the next video?
This is how you convert it when it's so simple like a sphere. This is far from a real life example. Why would I convert an stl sphere, I'd create a sphere from scratch, in 10 seconds, I don't need input stl file for that.
Thank you so much, this made my lift a lot easier!

Can you help me to do a conversion?
I have created a whole playlist to help you make a conversion. You can find it here th-cam.com/play/PLdfEJ9NcD36TGUlGpZh8KHKjJRnK_sZ9k.html
does this version have to use the premium version?
can it be opened in the standard version?
someone please answer me :)
Unfortunately ScanTo3D is supported only in Professional and Premium, not in Standard.
Will this work if I export from Blender and save the file as STL?
If it's STL should work.
Ok. If I have an issue, can I email the file to you?
Find me in LinkedIn, if you have a problem I will try to help.
Can you share multitask scan file with features make videos same in scan to 3d in solid work.
Hi Ansari, I'll make follow-up videos on the topic STL and ScanTo3D with more advanced models, this one was just to explain the base principle.
Thank you, stay healthy.
Is there a way to do this with the web based solidworks version 3D creator?

@@DWorkshop thank you :) yes I watched it after watching this one
How many times has anyone scanned a ball?
This is the first video introducing the use of ScanTo3D in the next you have more real life example th-cam.com/video/bETCDUwpWBQ/w-d-xo.html
Hii very interesting
need more tip trick solidwork
Now try Benchy
Well I would say Benchy is super easy to convert, but I may make a short of it, just because it would be cool 😉

Any project in mind to give it a try?
