Thanks heaps for this video! We are having a boys trip in April and while most of us have 4x4's, there will be a few 2wds! Not a worry, we have done some medium grade 4wd tracks with the 2wd's and they got through. This track is an easy drive. Thanks again!
@The Wandering Newbie no if you look the campground has the correct spelling but the track is incorrect. But because it's a road we couldn't have it changed
My pop actually lived down there with my great grandfather for quite some time they had an open cut mine type setup for gold back in the day. My great grandfather used to walk all the way from there to Walhalla to play cricket on the weekend.
Thanks for this video. I was wondering if my Liberty would do this exact track. Looks like I'd do pretty well as long as the conditions are good. How familiar are you with the rest of Donelley's Creek Rd.? Do you think an AWD like a Liberty could get all the way to O'Tool's? Or would you definitely need a proper 4x4 for that part?
You'll be fine getting into Merringtons. I took my friend in and she was in a Mazda 5. Beyond Merringtons you get to Junction Hut and there is a river crossing there. In summer it can be low but for the most part you may be driving through a foot of water which unless you have a snorkel is not a great idea. You can access Donnelly ck rd from the up above aberfeldy but again at Jorgensons hut there is another river crossing. If you want to get to O'tooles you need a vehicle that can drive through water as even coming from the east there is a small creek crossing at Store Point.
it's not just about telling them where they can camp it's also about telling the 4WD where the 2WD can camp so you know where might be busy as it's more accessible.

No worries!
thanks for the update. Poor little girl getting sick. Hope you guys had a great time.
oh yeah, she does it all the time! It's the windy roads, she is pretty well rehearsed in grabbing the sick bag now. We had a great time.
exactly the content i was hoping to find. thank you, very much appreciated. -2wd driver
You are most welcome. Always a pleasure to hear.
Very cool Video guys Its a shame that they misspelt the track though. Its named after my great grandfather Richard Merington
That's a cool claim to fame. I thought at first you were telling ME I had spelt it wrong. Had a mild panic.

all my maps have double r for everything, track and cg.

Awesome history to have in the family.

I don't understand why you are telling the 2WDer's where to camp?
