what's great about the 2012 model is that it handles supremely well in the twisties. i'm so impressed with kawasaki churning out new and innovative bikes. just the past couple of years, they gave us a new 650r, ninja1000, z1000, and now this insane superbike zx14r!
@finnsk3 S1000RR have dynoed to at least 191hp, so they are not that far apart. Some as low as 180hp as well. Also dep. on the dyno, altitude, temperature, humidity, setup, tester ...
Nice! I got an 06 ZX-14 and will probably upgrade. Quick question though... Why didn't Ricky redline the 2011? Looks like he cut the throttle early on the 2011 pulls, but redlined the pulls on the 2012? Am I missing something here??
3544S I not sure if it stock 06-11 power peaks at about 10,500rpm. It's 6 yes later have you done any work on it? I got 08 special edition I'll never sell her purchased brand new my buddy got H2 now I got turbo big bore kit 1417 and RCC stage 1 turbo kit,now it's too fast!!!

I've done every thing from 1417 kit, turbocharged, BST rims,Ohlins suspension, wouldn't trade it or ever sell it. How fast you ask,I pull away at 160kph from my friends H2 and I weight about 50lbs more than him. Conclusion until they build overdue ZX14 supercharged with best electronics then that will be my final bike.
@PrincipleCarpathia That's a huge disadvantage you say ??? LIsten to me carefully, I was beating BUSA's and ZX-12"s in 2001 on a gixxer 1000. Drag racing and roll-ons. The very FIRST thing they would say was ( I'm 100 lbs lighter) I NEVER EVER COMPLAINED OF THEM HAVING 200-300 MORE CC'S . Don't accept an ADVANTAGE in one area and CRY about your DISADVANTAGE in another area. CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON !!!! WIN, LOSE OR DRAW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
195 rwhp is serious hp but its not gonna "smoke" any 1 litre sportbike in the curves. Its too heavy. My slightly modded '07 GSXR makes 171rwhp on the same dyno. Most tests Ive seen of the BMW show around 180-185rwhp on a dyno jet dyno... The new zx-14 should be a great bike but its still big and heavy. Thats a huge disadvantage...
LMAO, at the 6:00 minute mark, the first 2 runs the 2012R makes 189+, then the 3rd run it makes 188. slightly less, not more. Gadson then hops off the bike to take a phone call, theres a break in the video, then the next run the bikes makes a whopping 7 more HP at 195+? I guess 188 isn't as shocking as 195. LMAO is all I will say.
Ive been dragged off by a r6 on my 14... its coz i sucked at the time. sure u can beat a zx14r with other bikes in a straight line. but these days with how good all the new big 4 bikes are, its more about the rider then ever.
You get 190hp from a stock s1000rr and your getting 188hp from a stock zx14...but i think i know witch ones heavier...? therefore s1000rr will still beat it
To all of you people that are only concerned about Dyno numbers.... Learn how to ride first. I will take any of you HP posers on a 2012 ZX14 against an old ninja 650 I have sitting in my garage... And smoke your ass on a curvy road. That,s about 55hp vs 189hp.

Take a look at the screen. The CF (correction factor) is STD. STD numbers are always higher than SAE numbers. 195 STD = 188 SAE. A good rider on a gixxer 1000 with 175 hp SAE will stomp that ZX14R. 7 lbs. per horsepower. The ZX14R weighs some 130 lbs. more than a gixxer 1000. That ZX14R rider just lost 18 horsepower. Now he has 170 horsepower vs. 175 for the gixxer 1000. I'll put my money on the gixxer rider any day !!!!!

This bike is incredible, my '07 made 171hp at the wheel stock, gonna be tough not to trade her in, she has 50,000 miles and never let me down.

As for not redlining the 2011 zx14 as you can clearly c the power was falling off fast. In other words peak hp would not of been any better.
The real reason the guy put his phone in the video is because he was trying to show all this was done in the same time frame.

SPNFENDER the 2011 is a good bike. With a little work it’ll put out the same. The computers have a lot of restrictions to make the power manageable.
