she absolutely does. Her issues started at the beginning of the valkyrie rework and continued even after they absolutely gutted her rez and valk (with reason don’t get me wrong). the valkyrie rework was flawed from the start because it wasn’t a good base of abilities. valkyrie mercy was designed to be a highly mobile support that could provide aid across the battlefield with multiple fast activating resurrects but over time she kept getting more and more nerfs which shafted her position to be a blue beam bot who occasionally heals. After the season 9 changes she became even more of a damage boost bot with even less healing, worse survivability, and her already niche support ability became even more risky/niche. Valk was an ult that was ok before season 9 but after season 9 it became terrible.
As a mercy main I feel like her Rez cool down needs to be longer like 45 seconds, her healing beam needs to do more healing and her ga needs to have a shorter cool down. Also maybe a set number of rezzes she can do in a match? That way she has to pick and choose when to Rez and who but idk . Her survivability isn’t bad for me . I have an avg 3-3.5 deaths per 10 min
@@RayoNima_ i mean this in the most respectful way possible, increasing resurrects cooldown or limiting how many resurrects you can get per match has to be one of the worst ideas ever. i would get 4-7 resurrects in a 15 plus minute game in gm when i played consistently in season 8-9. That’s not a lot, if you nerf that ability anymore it will become entirely useless. if we ever get to the point where rez needs to be a 45 SECOND COOLDOWN they should just replace the whole ability because at that point i’m playing a character with no support ability. the only state where i could see rez being longer that 45 seconds to get is as an ultimate with a fast cast time and no movement slow but as a regular ability? that would be terrible. that’s the equivalent of making suzu a 30 second cooldown and adding a cast time to the ability.
@@RayoNima_ At that point jsut get rid of rez lol, it would be useless and if she could only do it a set number of times then she would need something like immortality when casting so it's a 100% guarantee she gets it off. I'd say no ability ever should be on such a long cooldown, unless it just insta kills someone or something dumb like that
I miss Mercy old movement so much, back in OW1 ga and it's techs were very skill dependant, and it made me enjoy playing Mercy. So many different, difficult and useful movement options, but now Mercy is super casual and feels almost boring(?) to play, all her kit is like: press button to res, press button to fly wherever you want, press button to heal/boost. At least they didn't ruin decision making aspect for her. I still main her but I don't think I will be ever feeling that exited doing it like I did before OW2
I think "rework" is too strong of a word, although I do agree that Mercy needs to receive some serious adjustments to the kit to make her less "I'll pocket you till the heat death of the universe" kind of hero and be more self dependent (I mean, all her abilities (even the passive one) and pistol are useless in 1vs1 scenario). And also rez feels kinda... weird?.. It's the ability that feels so slow and clumsy when you play as Mercy, yet it feels so frustrating and overpowered when you play against Mercy. I'd rather give her a healing burst/utility ability which gets upgraded to rez during the ult.
@@machinegirl03 Well, I kinda see your point, it's just that back in my days of playing OW1 (may it rest in peace), "character rework" drastically changed hero's abilities, like when Symmetra was moved to a DPS cathegory or when Sombra received infinite invisibility and other buffs, so by that definition only Hog got "reworked", while Pharah just got adjusted. By my comment I've meant to say that developers need to mostly play with Mercy's numbers and lock the rez behind Valk. Tho after re-reading my comment it does sound like a rework... Oops, should've been more specific.
Rez takes up so much of Mercy's power budget that they can't make her consistent. Almost all of her value is gambled on rez so the rest of her kit is lacking and they can't make her numbers good because of it I think the best option would be to go back to triage and make her rez only available during ult to compensate for her stronger healing Rez holds us back from having a consistent hero. Imagine if it was swapped for a 10sec cooldown that we get to impact the game with dozens and dozens times instead of 5 times per game like rez. Something we could use every 10 seconds instead of once every 180 seconds that we'll probably die for attempting
i like this idea because i think this is what gets a lot of non-mercy players, which i can understand. having her fast again with lots of healing is what I want to see the most
i agree to most of what was said. if they were to hypothetically swap valkyrie and resurrect then i think mercy would be in a better place. mercy would be unshackled from the constraints of having rez as an active ability because it would become her ultimate so it would come up a lot less often but when it does then you know she won’t have it up again for a while. this allows you to make rez cast faster than it currently does and remove the movement penalty for it. rez remains single target. You could even be wacky with it and make it a fast traveling skill shot in order for the rez to start, idk just a fun idea. Then valkyrie as a main ability (with tweaks) would be fantastic utility. long range healing, ga reset, chain beams, a bit of extra healing, mass damage boost, it would be the perfect secondary ability. giving mercy diversity/freedom in how she uses her kit, it would give her more skill expression, it would make her more fun, and the best part is that it would be much easier to balance than resurrect. i doubt people will be complaining as much about valk as opposed to rez as an ability. Valk as an ability could be buffed or nerfed if it ever became too strong/weak
Personally, I don't like Valkyrie as an ultimate cause it excels on nothing compared to other support ults. It's only good for Mercy's survival and nothing else. And I dislike how Ressurect focus all of Mercy's power to one skill, making it hard to buff other aspects of her kit while still being a skill you can't use off cooldown and sometimes failing it. I think all of these problems are because of how poorly she was reworked and nerfed on Overwatch 1. I did like the passive healing buffs she received on season 3 tho, and it was the first time in a long time that I felt like Valkyrie saved my team. I think they could revisit it since now there's antiheal in the game and balance it. Or just give a good ultimate for her, imo.
i think increasing her healing would be just fine. since the new dps passive she can't keep anyone alive by her own effort. honestly i dont know how blizzard had the face to give us a mythic skin when mercy's getting so unfun to play.
Am I the only person who likes the concept of a guardian angel standing behind you, protecting you and reviving fallen allies? People forget that Overwatch is not a traditional shooter and their minds go crazy when they see an ability (such as Rez or Baptiste's lamp) they go crazy
I don't think that Mercy's current kit is the problem, due to the sudden changes in season 9 some characters were very bad, such is the case of Mercy, honestly they should fix her in certain aspects such as her healing which is horrible thanks to the dps passive
Mirrorwatch proves to me that if Mercy hypothetically got a complete rez and blue beam rework, I wouldn't feel like she's no longer Mercy. Meanwhile the lack of beam connection during ult made me realize just how good the beam connection feels and how much I miss it, idk it sounds stupid but that was my thoughts on it. So after the game mode, I can safely say that to me what makes Mercy "Mercy" is Guardian Angel and her beam connection, everything else is whatever. I don't think Resurrect is going away for as long as there are oneshots in the game (and by "one shot" I mean when a character can go from full health to death in under a second, be it one bullet or ten bullets) and I don't really see it getting nerfed or buffed in any way, ever. And I haven't heard a single good idea about blue beam rework from ANYONE, including Mercy mains. "Boost less damage but add a chain beam that deals damage to nearby enemies" sounds great on paper and I would kinda love it, it encourages you to target allies that are surrounded by enemies instead of sitting with hitscans in the back, but in practice idk it just feels out of character for Mercy to have her tech weaponized that way. Maybe if instead of dealing damage it'd do something else, I dunno. The forced 1 second extra GA cooldown after slingshot is something I still hate, but speaking objectively I think Mercy needs it to not feel insufferable to play against. It's also something that I feel separates good Mercys from great Mercys, it's very easy to botch GA these days and mistakes like that get you killed where previously there wasn't much of a penalty to it. Bad Mercy does bad GAs and she pays for it, as she should. Random note, I kind of really don't like the bright colorful speed lines that Vengeance has on Guardian Angel, for an ability that I use every two seconds they are so SO distracting. I wouldn't mind having it during just Valkyrie but regular GA feels like way too much clutter, enough to make me want to avoid using Vengeance.
Here’s a blue beam rework idea. Bring it down to 20% and make it so mercy can selectively amplify it to 35% for 3 seconds by double right clicking cd is 9 seconds not an ability just something to add on. A valk buff idea I had was that mercy could dmg boost her own pistol by 20% when she was full hp and that for the first five seconds of valk both the healing beam and dmg boost beam were conjoined both healing and dmg boosting would be stronger at this time dmg boost would be 30% again and heal ps would be 65 rez would not be instant during valk BUT casting valk mid res instantly completes the resurrect but will not reset ga cooldown (to balance things out)
Honestly, I don’t see a need for a “rework” but rather adjustments. Her nerfs make it impossible to play her these days in comp. I would like to be able to cancel Res, I think that’d be really useful. Her mobility is something us mercy mains to rely on to get away from enemies but with her longer guardian angel cooldown, I’m always getting jumped by Winton or tracer, and sombra. It’s a real struggle to not even be able to properly avoid getting dived when Mercy’s kit allows for her to get away. I think she needs to be able to defend herself. I think maybe using enemy souls to her advantage would be cool, like if someone from the enemy team died near her and she was getting dived she could at least use that. Or maybe giving her an ability that allows her to fly away (like a mini valk) for just a few seconds to get away, which can still be punished by hitscans. It’s frustrating when I get dived because I have to wait for my GA cooldown but also, I can’t whip out the Glock because she just doesn’t do enough damage. At that point, I just die because I can’t do anything.
As a Mercy main since 2016, I don’t think current rez is bad at all. Yeah, it’s a 30 second cooldown but it’s arguably one of the best abilities in the game, and is easily counterable as to not be overpowered. I think a rez reset or something similar (not 2018 Mercy, though she was the most fun to play imo) would be really nice. Valk should increase damage boost as it does heals but overall I love Valkyrie as an ultimate. The biggest problem with Mercy the past two seasons has been her healing output due to the DPS passive. 45 hps is horrendous in comparison to every other support. I really miss the triage healing they added a few seasons ago, it made her kit feel really multifaceted and fun. Mercy is a triage healer by nature and Blizz needs to capitalize on that. Love your content, Eley, and gl in your next games everyone! :)
i see a lot of ppl suggesting rez should only be available in valk, but the majority of rezzes i see ppl complain about are from valking mercies using the extra movement speed or vertical mobility in valk to use cover they otherwise couldnt use. which is accurate to my games where most of my impactful rezzes are in valk (the rest are mostly before or after fights). so why not just change rez to a different ability while in valk. could also make valk feel more impactful depending on the ability. maybe a burst of decaying overhealth or 2s movement speed buff for beam targets or something
I’m not a mercy main but if they really want mercy to be more viable as she was previous season. Would be her staff doing more healing, her valk id argue is fine because she can survive a couple bullets with cover without well thats obviously no one should be invincible in their ult. Her Rez should have a bonus to mercy- HEAR ME OUT- mercy gets ult charge everytime she Rez debating if the mercy takes that risk. Otherwise I think mercy is a perfect balanced support.
i think she should get her double rez back. keep rez cooldown normal outside of valk but the cool down refreshes when ult is activated and rez cast time is cut in half. make valk cost the same as a nano as well. i genuinely think that would make her balanced and very fun
Eleyzhau, you're my inspo for making a gaming channel, I also play mercy and want someday to gather some courage to play competitive games, yet I consider myself quite good for at least diamond, I'm now gold and want to someday reach my goals of being a better mercy player, continue doing this hard work of yours and get more and more people influenced by your amazing content!
All I know is mercy was robbed of her movement in season 3 and it wasn’t even her being op it was sojourn and blue beam not her guardian angel ability stupid blizzard butchering a character that was perfect
Omg I can't believe how you won those two matches, especially why was that guy insisting on playing Rein into Pharah and Orisa?! He's just fodder for them... Nice comeback though! (in both matches ^^)
i still wish they wouldve actually done something with that experimental patch where valk was on E with a shorter duration and she had mass rez again with balance tweaks as ult (though i suspect this might have just been testing for the PvE that theyve scrapped now... :/) imo it felt really good to have agency over when you use your cooldowns as opposed to having to wait for a teammate to die with current rez, you got to be proactive instead of reactive and the mini valk had a lot of great utility. if your tank was getting low you could up your heals, if you couldnt reach someone you could extend GA range, you could heal/boost aoe if needed, if no one was around to fly to or not in a good position to use for GA techs you could use mini valk to reposition. anything you can use valk for now, except you werent punished for "wasting it" since it wasnt your ult. you could even use the mini valk to position for mass rez as ult which was really good and could help you pull it off since she had the added LoS requirement, cast time, and no more invulnerability during it for the experimental patch. it felt like her whole kit synergized with itself way better and gave mercy players more agency over when they wanted to do stuff instead of having to sit and wait to hit a button every 30 seconds. dont get me wrong i do still enjoy current rez and all the cool tech with it like bounce rezzing and starting a rez while falling/jumping behind cover and hiding around stuff, but i can admit that it is not always the most engaging ability to use 100% of the time. i enjoyed mass rez bc it gave mercy a chance to shine and turn the tides of a fight the same way all the other support ults can, it felt like i was actually doing something substantial for my team instead of what it is currently, ESPECIALLY when more than half the roster can hit one button to kill an entire team... why cant mercy do the same kind of thing? bringing one person back from spawn quicker every 30 seconds, yes it definitely has impact, but it isnt always apparent or felt, which makes me sad bc resurrect is such a big part of mercy's identity as a character, both thematically and gameplay wise, yet it often feels lacklustre :(. i have hundreds of hours on this character and have played her the most since the game released and have only had *TWO* moments where someone i rezzed got potg right after and you could even see the rez happen at the start during the potg. those rezzes felt very impactful, the majority do not. yes they help, but they dont generally feel all that exciting. the #1 thing that annoys me the most with the whole mass rez rework and ordeal is that it all happened bc everyone was complaining that mercy was bringing her team back too much, yet when you look at the statistics, mercy's rez numbers actually went up post rework and continued to still be higher even after the nerfs to moth meta. she is actively able to rez WAY MORE people nowadays than she ever was in the past with mass rez. i dont understand why people hate on the idea of mass rez so much when it would happen way less often and in the end it had lower numbers than current rez anyway. and this isnt even to mention that its not like mercy was getting 4-5 man rezzes every single ult, most people esp in higher tier play would only go for 2-3 man rezzes and it was called tempo rezzing, which wouldve made her numbers EVEN LOWER..... while tempo rezzing sounds similar to how it is now, you have to remember she wouldve needed to gain 100% ult charge between casts which is def way more than today's 30 secs. another thing i wanted to touch on here was that mercy wasnt even the only one getting people back to fights faster, symmetra could do it too with her old teleporter so mercy had competition when it came to this! and sym's tp was arguably better bc even though it could be destroyed, it stayed up and didnt always need to be well timed or anything unless you were coordinating with your team after a wipe, so i dont understand all the outrage about mercy. sorry for a wall of text and a bit of ranting but it just makes me so sad man ;-;
After seeing the mirrorwatch abilities I was thinking that maybe instead of rezing a teammate she could target the soul and do a burst of healing to all teamates in los, like a Baptiste burst, but smaller and with a little less healing. So mercy can have some burst heals and rez wont be a complaint point for players anymore. Like both sides would get somthing they want. I would play her in any state as long as ga is still in her kit.
I think the issue with that is that it's reliant on people dying which veers back to the "Die on point." era of her kit. Same with LW's heal drop on release. Sure dying is part of the game but basing an ability on it would bring us back to the same issue with rez.
@akkiko super good point! It also probably wouldn't have as much impact as rez, considering you need the team to be close to get value. I was just thinking it would help her more in close together team fights.
I really like the mythic skin and intend to buy it, and rlly hope that Mercy will got some rework. Mercy lore wise is a medic and in game she... you know, barely heal now, just kinda weird to me. And in the heat of combat, we all know that Mercy cannot burst heal enough to save, even with valk on. Beside the number, Mercy gameplay can be verry dull, due to just holding mouse button and staying alive ( I mean EVERYONE is trying that to...) Im just get on Mercy at the beginning of ss10 due to the Mythic skin, however I rlly hope the Mercy main community soon get what they deserve to have. P/s: Im just realizing how soothed your Mercy video is by the time I just let the clip on it own and do other stuff and still feel relaxed
I would to have the option to play either universe in the regular game, like 2 play style options for the characters. I feel that the mirror watch Mercy is far more impactful... though i guess they would have to nerf the hell out of the corpse explosion.
It's fun and tbf Mercy event ult is similar to Iliary which is one of the fun to use ults. But imo Nuking souls is more impactfull than Rezes. But you still can do some really clutch rezes that turn games.
Personaly i think that rezz should be los but give her more movement during it more distance of casting it and maybe a 0.70 split seconds she can be out of los with that way it makes it more versatile but also more possible at some ways of damage her
Personally, i actually like the part of damage boosting because she actually doesnt hurm on her own an ememy wich is great cause thats not her phylosophy.Based on her capabilities at healing i think that she could have a 60heals per sec and 15% more to allies under 50% health, saving more allies. Her main focus is to help anyone in need and provide assistance i think a good way to kinda balance her is to give her 200 hp make her passive healing 30% or 25% because mercy on her own doesnt makes sense to heal herself at the point of depends at that.Furtheremore rez movement could be faster but takes a litle bit more time to cast.those changes can oppen rooms for other ideas for example a new ability that blinds and dizzy enemies like in the cinematic storm rising even a guardian angel that she move frealy without dipenting on her allies crossing a surtain range of 30-35meters or for a duration (normal ga can max go to 45m).Also a new passive like we saw in a cinematic trailer ""zero hour"" mercy protects and heals mei so a passive maybe called ""Mercy on call"" could with a press of a button to go to an allie and fall from the sky and provide a nerfed support passive and a litle bit of protection for some seconds as a guardian angel mercy cant use this unless an allie needs emergency support that is just an idea because its a whole new mechanic.lastly make angelic descent much faster so mercy's passive helps at crossing distances when she is at a serten height.overall i think that mercy should be a protector and healer for those who are in need of her! Your opinion and ideas are welcomed!
My idea is keep her mostly the same and replace Rez with either a amp like Lucio or an ability to give a single target either damage reduction or reduced CC. Also give valk something extra like that damage over time from mirrorwatch
if I had to change mercy (I play LW mostly), I’d swap rez back to her ult and give it like a 3 person max. Make valk an ability, with a 15-20 ish cooldown, idk. And finally (hot take), change damage boost completely. Maybe make it a speed boost beam? Idrk
Mirrorwatch mercy finally felt fun to play again, being a mercy main from beta, I have seen her at her peek and her worst. These changes make sence where she has now the capability to kick ass again like EVER OTHER HEALER. Every healer can attack and do some meaningfull things that changes the course of a match what can mercy... only beam heal or damage boost someone and if she dares pull out her barby blaster get screamed at by her team mates for not beaming them do, or she can rest the tank thats not doing their job, Yhay. these changes makes sence and should be kept.
I love the regular gameplay as Mercy. But the problem to me is that if I'm not playing with good DPS, I'm not impactful. Some healers, as Ana, can be impactful even if her team sucks. If she hits antiheal bomb in a dying tank (it's not easy in high rating), it's a game change. I don't think the standard Mercy's gameplay need to change, but maybe her ult. Idk, something like Medic's ult in Team Fortress 2 (that makes her and her healing target empowered and invulnerable during some time) can be very impactful, even when the team is sucking. I love playing Mercy, it's my main. But now, a little often, I feel the need to swap to Moira when the team sucks, because it makes my gameplay more helpful for the team. (playing around diamond - was master previous seasons but now im not climbing :/)
I think she doesn’t need a rework. She needs her numbers increased healing and dmg boost. Since season 9 she is underperforming because of dps passive so giving her back the ability to keep a team mate alive should be good for her. Also Valkyrie needs to be stronger in terms of healing numbers. It should charge faster and Maybe while at it they can let her res from certain distance (with same movement punishment). Damage boost should aldo be stronger in Valkyrie so it can make a difference.
Exactly. I say bring back triage healing. Make her heal 70 in valk, and damage boost in valk 20, then since valk would be stronger maybe make it cost more ult charge. She just has no impact in heals. Her damage boost even felt useless in a meta primarily dominated by dps and their passive in season 9. Like how is damage boost garbage in a dps meta?
I think less of a full rework and more of some adjustments to make her less of a pocket bot. I've climbed to masters solo with her by balancing beams and being an annoying moth because her mobility is honestly the most fun part of her. Valk probably needs something to make it fit a better like, niche? Or just something in terms of like, making it less of a specator ult or a mobile OW1 orisa bongo. I didn't really like how the mirrorwatch Mercy played, valk felt punishing to my team to use because I couldn't heal them or anything, so it had to be timed perfectly so noone died. Even Illari in normal game can leave her pylon down for her team, and Moira's ult can heal if she chooses to (or accidently hits them with it), mirrorwatch mercy didn't have that option and the lack of Rez didn't help if someone DID die. However, valk right now probably needs something to make it better, maybe better healing or damage boost, or just something to help elavate it into feeling more useful? Maybe the beams from damage boost do damage to nearby enemies during valk? If they do go for a rework they should revisit Triage Mercy from season 3 honestly, I think it'd have a place now with the DPS passive. It was a fun playstyle too! I liked having to dart around the map more to save allies and take care of them. It also gave more opportunity for enemies to catch out Mercy if she over committed because GA is surprisingly easy to whiff if you misjudge distance or angles. With the DPS passive it'd give a bit more breathing room to play with the extra healing, and maybe they should make it a set number instead of a %, that might make it easier to balance. They could do with making Valk actually enhance her abilities too. Make Rez cast faster or have a shorter cooldown, give her a higher damage boost, higher healing. Something to make it more active and less like a glorified cooldown. I'd happily take Rez being nerfed (like reviving an ally at half HP with cooldowns still on cooldown?) if it meant we could get a more active, less pocketed playstyle. But maybe not making Mercy a DPS - Theres enough supports that are practically DPS (cough cough Illari) and I don't think that's the answer. Her being an enabler support is why I enjoy playing her so much, cos I've played MMOs most of my gaming life and I usually play enablers. She has a good niche being (currently) the only strict enabler support and I think Blizzard would be reluctant to change her too much because it's kind of part of her character identity. Look at their other reworks, usually they don't do much to change the hero radically, so I don't see Rez or DB going anywhere, they both have their place. Especially because Rez will probably stick around as-is so long as oneshots exist. And I doubt they'll ever get rid of those. Not to mention - When Mercy got reworked off of mass Rez, they put Rez as a single target ability and cited the heros character identity as the reasoning, so unless they manage to figure out a way to make Rez totally redundant to her identity (which probably won't happen) I doubt it'll go anywhere entierly even if oneshots do. I think her problems lie less in Rez and Damage Boost and more in her healing value and valk's weird grey area of niche at this point, mostly because of the DPS passive. Valks healing before was already kinda ass, and with the passive it just got worse. At least when we had Triage Mercy, valking to save someone was more consistantly viable - I want that back, honestly. Even if the triage bit is reserved only for valk.
I always felt like Mercy should be able to shoot projectiles from her staff regularly instead of having to switch between that and her gun. I say that but I got no clue how that would affect her heal/buff ability 😅
I personally like the current version mercy, but that’s just me. Healing isn’t super strong but over the course of an entire match she saves a ton of people and the res is super useful if people are dying in decent spots.
I think Mercy needs light reworks and maybe just some number changes to assist with it. I think Valk is a very low impact Ult but it makes Mercy very hard to kill with her movement and regen which is the biggest facet of it, and that there should be minimal changes to it since it is a case of being not high impact, but not 0 impact as you don't need to combo it with ults and you can get sly resses etc. I think Res is too intertwined with her whole concept to take away. But it needs somethings changed to help Mercy, while making it less frustrating to play against. I think making it so the less time between the death and res, they have more HP that scales % wise, and maybe the RANGE starts larger but as time goes on, the radius you can res gets smaller and the % of HP they come back with lowers. Maybe within 3 seconds it stays at 100%, but 4-7 seconds it goes to 80%, and 8-10 60%. Also could be good post fight to get some heals for Ult. It makes sense that it is easier to bring back someone who JUST died vs someone who was dead for 3x as long. Her passive I think is very good but I think her passive should maybe lower the health she gets by 5-10%, but for herself and her ally the beam is on, it cuts the heal reduction in half or maybe just a third. So actively having the beam on someone makes yourself get more heals, and the ally you are healing too from ALL sources. This means healing a tank is a bit quicker for Mercy but your Ana/Bap etc heals 90% instead of 85%. GA I think is the backbone of what makes her fun and its good now, but not at it's strongest point, and this is fine. Even if you shift power from GA to somewhere else, her movement is too important to her identity Other random off ideas I have is the beams having a Moira effect where it lingers for a second, but couldn't be something so you can just tap back in forth with. Like you need a resource meter or something like that, but this would largely be for the healing portion rather than lingering damage beam.
mirrorwatch i love sombra's concept a lot!! but mercy's i HATE her ult and the E action like its hard for me to do, i still dont kno how it works, and i juss hate her ult cuz she technically cant heal her teammates anymore for the time being and they kno if that becomes a real thing its gone be nerfed down to the ground to where its useless tbh
also the mirrorwatch is a temp gamemode and nothing to be taken seriously, mercy still heals and boosts in ult but you just don’t see the beam connection 💕
mirrorwatch mercy is fun, but only for this limited-time mode! i really don't want them to take the rez away and chain heal/dmg boost in valk in the live game
Maybe make Valkyrie a CD like before? 30s CD with less heals/dmg boost but chained, rez remains, and the ult is the same in mirrorwatch but has reduced projectile size
Who do you have in mind? Imo, mercy can't do much herself and just relies heavily on her teammates. She can't 1v1 most characters, and just can't sustain herself. And most of the match she is only holding beams (which is her job ofcourse) I think she needs SOMETHING, idk what, but something that gives her more gameplay, I mean all mercys do is fly around, heal, dmg boost and rez. She is never actively doing gradual damage by herself, like all the other supports can do
@@NaturalMOCHI Reaper, Cassidy, give Hanzo his Oneshot back, Junkrat was considered the worst dps in s9 with hanzo, Lw is similair to mercy, Rein, maybe even Orisa (or just nerf her that would be enough tbh)
@@announcer1356 Reaper, Rein and Cassidy (+ maybe even Junk and Hanzo) i would say while i agree on your take with mercy. the dev team just keeps messing up
im kinda sad that she didnt get an ult voiceline and more voicelines and her red ga effects is bug. love the skin though. tbh mercy will always be niche and people accepted it, imo there are ways to make her better but not make her more annoying to play against but changing anything about her kit like very different will just make it worse
She need adjustments if not a rework but given how they’ve treated mercy all these years they should just leave her exactly like she is now and bring game modes that rework or revert her abilities so we could have something to work with other than standard mercy, it’s also good for rework ideas since u can actually test changes there and not having to depend on the complete brain rot of the developers
Her kit has not been updated to the meta and suffers egregiously for it. As shown with how both how just changes to her E and giving ana extra mobility (on top of crazy new abilities) makes them wildly different feeling. I love Mercy, and will continue to play her. She's the quintessential logistics support, which is why I enjoy her. She's the medic on the spot with the ammo and triage. And if the team uses cover effectively and pays attention to callouts and their surroundings, she will always have safe harbor to GA to. The problem is, that most players have had many, many seasons of poor training to crystalize the misconception that they are immune to weapons fire. I personally, am not averse to resurrect being changed to another ability, to give her another movement option that morphs when she activates Valkyrie. Personally, I think instead of a resurrect, a World of Warcraft Guardian Angel would work.
It would only apply to a hero you are channeling on and last for a few seconds upon activation after channeling and filling a meter. After which, if they receive a killing blow while under its effect, they would return with full health. And if you are under Valkyrie, you can channel the beam to fill the meter to everyone, and activate it upon them. Then they have a death ward. Kinda like a situational lantern with combat conditions to become fully viable. It still has limitations like current combat rez, but doesn't lock us down as hard to be shot down as easily. My other option: remove rez entirely to give a dash that gets a charge count that recharges during Valk.
The fact that mercy is skill capped to approx gm5-gm4 but you can one trick lifeweaver to champion 5 means she is severely underpowered in the current meta. A terrible support like lifeweaver has been buffed enough to reach high elo but you cant one trick mercy to nearly as high. I can only imagine that the devs are having a hard time reworking her rather than believing that she doesn't need any buffs/reworks. IDK if the gm5/gm4 mercy otps duoed with a dps/tank to get to that elo or if they solo queued, but some of the most efficient mercys like eley or ski are stuck in master after hundreds of games...
this is less of a rework suggestion but more of an observation but i find it soooo odd how the token ‘healer’ character of overwatch who’s canonically a doctor has some of the worst healing in the game (which only got even worse in season 9). just weird
Hi , i'm a mercy main and i lost a lot of rank this season , i don't know why but i lose every game i play . The game decided to make me fall the ladder ? is mercy too bad in this season ? did someone have an answer ?
Ok here are some ideas of reworks (ofc not all of them should be implemented at once): Give the triage passive back during valk, get rid of the res and give her the "release soul" explosion, let her res once on valk, make her able to fly after a dash by holding space and emptying the meter (kinda like pharah) or slingshot by pressing it once and also buff the damage boost but make it overtime like ana's shot whenever someone's hit.
I think people don't know what they're talking about when it comes to Mercy anymore. We really need to stop thinking of Mercy as a bad support who doesn't have her place in the game. She absolutely has her place in the game, she's a great support with the best mobility. Valkyrie is a great ult and was a ult change she needed because her old ult wasn't good. The reason Mercy has seen so many nerfs is because she holds a constant beam of damage boost or healing so it makes sense to lower her healing a bit. She still does 45 healing per second which increases to 65 in valkyrie. Mercy has a win percentage of higher than 50% across all competitive skill levels and she is the 4th most picked hero in high rank behind heroes like Ana with a 48% win rate. The DPS passive is also not a big deal if you have a good team. The reason why it feels like you can't heal your tank on mercy is because they're dumb and don't know they can't stand there and take damage for eons. The dps passive forces bad tanks to do what us support players have been screaming at them to do forever which is to back up and get healed. Yes, Mercy's damage boost is the best tool in her kit and that is honestly a good thing. It's really not a Mercy issue if you're playing mercy well. You're going to have good teams and bad teams. Stop crying. I literally main mercy, many people main mercy. If you're complaining then stop. She could use a few changes like the damage boost change in Mirrorwatch would be nice.
mercy actually does heal and damage boost while in valk in the mirrorwatch version. it’s just not with beam, it’s AOE so as long as you’re near here while she’s ulting. i really hope they keep the valk change. maybe instead of rez while in valk, they’ll have a different ability similar to exploding souls, or they’ll have it as like a get out of jail free card to help mercy escape or do decent damage when team is dead. or only be able to explode enemy souls and rez teammates. or the explosion could instead be like trap mine similar to hog idk. vengeance made me realize how boring mercy’s passive playstyle is. she’s just too weak to keep up with how overwatch has changed over the years and pales in comparison to every other support since she does no damage, provides no utility other than rez and nerfed damage boost. i love mercy but it always feels like i’m handicapping myself by picking her.
i really don’t want a rework for mercy, but let me explain why. i’m autistic and i don’t do well with change, i really really like mercy, how you play with her and her abilities. i know changing her will make me frustrated and possibly not enjoy her as much anymore depending on how much they change her. i understand why people want a rework for her but personally i don’t for those reasons. at the very least if they rework her i hope it’s like ball where it’s extremely small, quality of life changes and doesn’t change her fundamentally.
she absolutely does.
She just doesn't work for a fps shooter. She's either going to be busted or useless
@@xaan7458 disagree, she can work she just needs to be better designed.
I'd say no ability ever should be on such a long cooldown, unless it just insta kills someone or something dumb like that
If they wanna keep Valk as an ult, make it so she damage boosts and heals at the same time like coalescence
I'd rather give her a healing burst/utility ability which gets upgraded to rez during the ult.
neither hog nor pharah got huge changes to their kits yet those were still called reworks. if ur changing an ability thats literally a rework
Almost all of her value is gambled on rez so the rest of her kit is lacking and they can't make her numbers good because of it
I think the best option would be to go back to triage and make her rez only available during ult to compensate for her stronger healing
Rez holds us back from having a consistent hero.
Maybe if her ult provided some shield too?
i think increasing her healing would be just fine. since the new dps passive she can't keep anyone alive by her own effort. honestly i dont know how blizzard had the face to give us a mythic skin when mercy's getting so unfun to play.
Her current kit doesn’t fit ow2 at all, she definitely needs a rework
It would be cool if you upload Mirrorwatch's gameplay videos too! It's interesting to see your DPS mercy.
We can think of a rework for her, yes. But I don’t want her to feel super complicated to play cause she’s actually such a comfort pick for me
Mirrorwatch proves to me that if Mercy hypothetically got a complete rez and blue beam rework, I wouldn't feel like she's no longer Mercy.
A valk buff idea I had was that mercy could dmg boost her own pistol by 20% when she was full hp and that for the first five seconds of valk both the healing beam and dmg boost beam were conjoined both healing and dmg boosting would be stronger at this time dmg boost would be 30% again and heal ps would be 65 rez would not be instant during valk BUT casting valk mid res instantly completes the resurrect but will not reset ga cooldown (to balance things out)
i like how they did the constant damage with the blue beam in the mirrorwatch event
to add to this as a last second thought, giving Mercy burst crit heals would incentivize people to heal to crit then dmg boost JUST SAYINGGGG
i see a lot of ppl suggesting rez should only be available in valk, but the majority of rezzes i see ppl complain about are from valking mercies using the extra movement speed or vertical mobility in valk to use cover they otherwise couldnt use. which is accurate to my games where most of my impactful rezzes are in valk (the rest are mostly before or after fights). so why not just change rez to a different ability while in valk. could also make valk feel more impactful depending on the ability. maybe a burst of decaying overhealth or 2s movement speed buff for beam targets or something
(in both matches ^^)
i still wish they wouldve actually done something with that experimental patch where valk was on E with a shorter duration and she had mass rez again with balance tweaks as ult (though i suspect this might have just been testing for the PvE that theyve scrapped now... :/) imo it felt really good to have agency over when you use your cooldowns as opposed to having to wait for a teammate to die with current rez, you got to be proactive instead of reactive and the mini valk had a lot of great utility. if your tank was getting low you could up your heals, if you couldnt reach someone you could extend GA range, you could heal/boost aoe if needed, if no one was around to fly to or not in a good position to use for GA techs you could use mini valk to reposition. anything you can use valk for now, except you werent punished for "wasting it" since it wasnt your ult. you could even use the mini valk to position for mass rez as ult which was really good and could help you pull it off since she had the added LoS requirement, cast time, and no more invulnerability during it for the experimental patch.
it felt like her whole kit synergized with itself way better and gave mercy players more agency over when they wanted to do stuff instead of having to sit and wait to hit a button every 30 seconds. dont get me wrong i do still enjoy current rez and all the cool tech with it like bounce rezzing and starting a rez while falling/jumping behind cover and hiding around stuff, but i can admit that it is not always the most engaging ability to use 100% of the time. i enjoyed mass rez bc it gave mercy a chance to shine and turn the tides of a fight the same way all the other support ults can, it felt like i was actually doing something substantial for my team instead of what it is currently, ESPECIALLY when more than half the roster can hit one button to kill an entire team... why cant mercy do the same kind of thing? bringing one person back from spawn quicker every 30 seconds, yes it definitely has impact, but it isnt always apparent or felt, which makes me sad bc resurrect is such a big part of mercy's identity as a character, both thematically and gameplay wise, yet it often feels lacklustre :(. i have hundreds of hours on this character and have played her the most since the game released and have only had *TWO* moments where someone i rezzed got potg right after and you could even see the rez happen at the start during the potg. those rezzes felt very impactful, the majority do not. yes they help, but they dont generally feel all that exciting.
the #1 thing that annoys me the most with the whole mass rez rework and ordeal is that it all happened bc everyone was complaining that mercy was bringing her team back too much, yet when you look at the statistics, mercy's rez numbers actually went up post rework and continued to still be higher even after the nerfs to moth meta. she is actively able to rez WAY MORE people nowadays than she ever was in the past with mass rez. i dont understand why people hate on the idea of mass rez so much when it would happen way less often and in the end it had lower numbers than current rez anyway. and this isnt even to mention that its not like mercy was getting 4-5 man rezzes every single ult, most people esp in higher tier play would only go for 2-3 man rezzes and it was called tempo rezzing, which wouldve made her numbers EVEN LOWER..... while tempo rezzing sounds similar to how it is now, you have to remember she wouldve needed to gain 100% ult charge between casts which is def way more than today's 30 secs. another thing i wanted to touch on here was that mercy wasnt even the only one getting people back to fights faster, symmetra could do it too with her old teleporter so mercy had competition when it came to this! and sym's tp was arguably better bc even though it could be destroyed, it stayed up and didnt always need to be well timed or anything unless you were coordinating with your team after a wipe, so i dont understand all the outrage about mercy. sorry for a wall of text and a bit of ranting but it just makes me so sad man ;-;
After seeing the mirrorwatch abilities I was thinking that maybe instead of rezing a teammate she could target the soul and do a burst of healing to all teamates in los, like a Baptiste burst, but smaller and with a little less healing.
Beside the number, Mercy gameplay can be verry dull, due to just holding mouse button and staying alive ( I mean EVERYONE is trying that to...)
Im just get on Mercy at the beginning of ss10 due to the Mythic skin, however I rlly hope the Mercy main community soon get what they deserve to have.
Also give valk something extra like that damage over time from mirrorwatch
i think she can keep the change to dmg-boost from mirrorwatch and make rez instant in valk...would be some nice skillexpression
if I had to change mercy (I play LW mostly), I’d swap rez back to her ult and give it like a 3 person max.
(playing around diamond - was master previous seasons but now im not climbing :/)
wow that new queens street game was rlly good!!!
IM SO EALRY OMG
LOVE UR VIDS AS ALWAYS
I always felt like Mercy should be able to shoot projectiles from her staff regularly instead of having to switch between that and her gun.
I say that but I got no clue how that would affect her heal/buff ability 😅
I personally like the current version mercy, but that’s just me. Healing isn’t super strong but over the course of an entire match she saves a ton of people and the res is super useful if people are dying in decent spots.
man your rein was just straight throwing
Even if you shift power from GA to somewhere else, her movement is too important to her identity
Other random off ideas I have is the beams having a Moira effect where it lingers for a second, but couldn't be something so you can just tap back in forth with. Like you need a resource meter or something like that, but this would largely be for the healing portion rather than lingering damage beam.
mirrorwatch i love sombra's concept a lot!! but mercy's i HATE her ult and the E action like its hard for me to do, i still dont kno how it works, and i juss hate her ult cuz she technically cant heal her teammates anymore for the time being and they kno if that becomes a real thing its gone be nerfed down to the ground to where its useless tbh
literally just tap e and any soul of a person who died recently (and who your aiming at) will explode and deal aoe dmg 🤷♀️
also the mirrorwatch is a temp gamemode and nothing to be taken seriously, mercy still heals and boosts in ult but you just don’t see the beam connection 💕
@@perf1de37 ahhh I see
Incredible delay on the Doomfist rezz
mirrorwatch mercy is fun, but only for this limited-time mode! i really don't want them to take the rez away and chain heal/dmg boost in valk in the live game
Maybe make Valkyrie a CD like before? 30s CD with less heals/dmg boost but chained, rez remains, and the ult is the same in mirrorwatch but has reduced projectile size
what if they made e something like a mini echo shift, and if u ult while rezzing, it completes the rez instantly
i feel like there are other heroes that could benefit from a rework much more then mercy. not saying she doesnt need one but i think others go first
Who, for example?
@@announcer1356 Reaper, Rein and Cassidy (+ maybe even Junk and Hanzo) i would say while i agree on your take with mercy.
the dev team just keeps messing up
they should bring back her faster healing rate when an ally gets super low on health whatever the old percentage was. below 40%?
you should be able to choose between regular characters and mirrorwatch characters from now on
I wish the damage she applifies would be added to her damage done on the scoreboard.
Welcome early birds- love the video!❤
im kinda sad that she didnt get an ult voiceline and more voicelines and her red ga effects is bug. love the skin though. tbh mercy will always be niche and people accepted it, imo there are ways to make her better but not make her more annoying to play against but changing anything about her kit like very different will just make it worse
What if using the Rez on a living ally gives them a damage boost or something like that?
She need adjustments if not a rework but given how they’ve treated mercy all these years they should just leave her exactly like she is now and bring game modes that rework or revert her abilities so we could have something to work with other than standard mercy, it’s also good for rework ideas since u can actually test changes there and not having to depend on the complete brain rot of the developers
Tbh I wouldn’t be opposed to a mercy rework so that she has more value and agency in her matches
YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT I DONT HAVE TO BE RIGHT NEXT TO THE SOUL TO ‘E’ THEM TO DEATH?! 😭 MY FUCKING GOD WHAT A GOOF
how can mercy shoot with her sceptre or what that thing is (dont judge me im new😅)
The fact that mercy is skill capped to approx gm5-gm4 but you can one trick lifeweaver to champion 5 means she is severely underpowered in the current meta.
The game decided to make me fall the ladder ? is mercy too bad in this season ? did someone have an answer ?
in the direction Ow2 is going yes Mercy definitely needs a rework a full healing support just doesnt work anymore
Ok here are some ideas of reworks (ofc not all of them should be implemented at once):
Give the triage passive back during valk, get rid of the res and give her the "release soul" explosion, let her res once on valk, make her able to fly after a dash by holding space and emptying the meter (kinda like pharah) or slingshot by pressing it once and also buff the damage boost but make it overtime like ana's shot whenever someone's hit.
serious you're the best
I just hope no matter how many reworks she gets, she always has her Guardian Angel 🙏
I can easily get potg with mirrorwatch mercy 🤣 I hope they keep this game mode forever
yes she does, i'm not buying the mythic skin until a mercy buff or rework comes out, she's utterly unplayable
If they buff valk she will be good
Yes
Rework or not there's no doubt she's the worst support hero right now. She deserves buffs more than anyone else😅
mercy actually does heal and damage boost while in valk in the mirrorwatch version. it’s just not with beam, it’s AOE so as long as you’re near here while she’s ulting. i really hope they keep the valk change. maybe instead of rez while in valk, they’ll have a different ability similar to exploding souls, or they’ll have it as like a get out of jail free card to help mercy escape or do decent damage when team is dead. or only be able to explode enemy souls and rez teammates. or the explosion could instead be like trap mine similar to hog idk. vengeance made me realize how boring mercy’s passive playstyle is. she’s just too weak to keep up with how overwatch has changed over the years and pales in comparison to every other support since she does no damage, provides no utility other than rez and nerfed damage boost. i love mercy but it always feels like i’m handicapping myself by picking her.
I want Rez to go but everything else to stay
i really don’t want a rework for mercy, but let me explain why. i’m autistic and i don’t do well with change, i really really like mercy, how you play with her and her abilities. i know changing her will make me frustrated and possibly not enjoy her as much anymore depending on how much they change her. i understand why people want a rework for her but personally i don’t for those reasons. at the very least if they rework her i hope it’s like ball where it’s extremely small, quality of life changes and doesn’t change her fundamentally.
Wow early
Can we just give Mercy more dpsing tbh I wanna see how that'll go
