I kinda feel like you're talking about magenta which when light has some pink fall under it. #FBC3BF is a pink that only uses red. So, pink does exist, just not all pink exists due magenta making up the base for many pink colors. Either way there is color that doesn't exist outside of what the eye sees

I see some different hues of pink as completely different colors. I'd classify them into the following categories: beige, brown, fuchsia/magenta, orange, red, white, other
RGB is what your eyes see, so displays like a tv work in that way. RYB works in stuff like paint, where instead of telling your eyes exactly what the color is supposed to be, it absorbs different colors and the ones that aren't are sent back to you. TLDR: there's RGB AND RYB. Look up additive and subtractive color mixing!

The reason why RYB is used is because in the past it was difficult to find magenta and cyan dyes, so they simplified it to colours that were easier to find. This stuck, so it’s still taught today.
What’s weird about pink is that it’s basically just a lighter shade than red but can be darker too. It has its own shades and stuff just like a normal color but so it is a color but a shade of red/red-purple too
