Indeed! According to Kiranico after the head breaks, it becomes a 25 dragon HZ. This is what got me interested in trying it against this monster. Blackveil also recovers significantly faster after a topple compared to other monsters. I had to go for a faster dps combo on down. That's why I opted for recital + encore 1 EWD. Interestingly enough, this dealt more damage than 2 echo attacks during a topple (still a strong option if I didn't have EWD ready).

Slugger can be useful for sure. In some cases, it can be used to script events. Get a KO at a specific point in time for example. Now that slugger 1 is 20% instead of 10, it's more interesting (especially if you use the impact echo wave a lot since this deals a sizable amount of KO damage)! Not a must-have but if you have room for it, why not!
Does anyone here know how re applying your buffs work when the are still active? For instance what happens when you replay attack up after it being up for a minute will that completely refresh it or do you need to play it twice as if you are applying it for a unbuffed hunter.
If you play a buff while its still active, it just refreshes. The title of the song in the upper rightish area will be green if its active, purple if it's been encoded or played twice for the second level buff.
@@groovydolph It doesn't refresh it tho, isn't that what the "All melodies effect extended" song for like the Acidic Galvenus horn shown in this video have? If you play attack buff again when already have attack up XL it does nothing
@@yunglilschillymane261 if it's still in effect (when attack up is highlighted in purple) and you play it again, it'll refresh the time for attack up XL. so no need to play it again. If its green or not in effect at all, you'll have to play it twice to get the XL effect
@@dade97asd96 not really. There are actually plenty of Horns with good songs and stats, Acidic is just a perfect all-in offense option. The -30% ones aren't the only good ones without considering their negative affinity, there are quite a few options that'd be just as good if not better if they had smaller limitations.
The arena is convenient because you don't have to deal with monsters transitioning or having to stop the limp. It does get boring when it's all you do tho. That's why I'm trying to mix things up !

Slugger 1 is good for multiplayer to get the ko
You can live without it. Once you are able to get at least 2 KOs in on a monster, you won't miss having it.

Acidic is fine, the other horns have shitty songs and the few ones that could be as good as the acidic have -30% affinity
